Caesar was completely taken aback by the sudden and unexpected touch. He didn’t know what to say within that instant, distracted by the warmth he had longed for. But he was quick to remind himself of his position and put on his defense, trying to respond quickly as possible. After all, Joseph was squeezing his hand tightly.

But he suddenly stopped to the mention of the Pillar Men and to the rest of the sad teen’s words. The words felt slow, taking their time to carve through Caesar’s mind, heightening his conflicted emotions. He turned his gaze upward, locking it with Joseph’s blue hues, and suddenly he could feel how scared Joseph truly was. In return, the blond felt his own fear creep up from within, making him appear more defensive.

❝That’s… T-that’s absurd! Why would you miss something like that!? And I’m not—! I’m not…❞

Somehow, he couldn’t lie through his teeth.

He stared at Caesar. He didn’t know what to say... he inhaled a bit, his own fears being a bit confirmed. so.. this is how the blond thought? Did the young Zepelli also think that they were going to fail?

He was always displaying conflicting emotions.. but Joseph felt more confused than ever. What was going on with him? Why was he acting like this? This only seemed to peeve the young Joestar even more.
