Just a few of the many Indigenous services spotted in Toronto. The ones featured below are located along Gerrard St. Included are a Health Centre, Resource Centre and an Employment Centre.
Known for its low income, crime, drug abuse and community housing Moss Park is located between Jarvis and Parliament from Dundas down to Queen St.
Group of homeless men outside a storefront by the AGO in Toronto.
These men are well known in this area for being rowdy or sleeping on the steps littered with empty alcohol bottles.
On the right the man standing has a full opened bottle of rum in his hand and he is talking to himself and passers by.
Signs outside grocery store in Jackson Square indicating theft (due to poverty?) is a problem here.
Abandoned homemade drug paraphernalia found in Gore Park
A gathering of homeless people on King and Emerald in Hamilton, ON. They all had bags and seemed to be having a conversation as they sat on the steps of an abandoned building.
Pictured on the left: An abandoned scooter with bags upon bags on it.
Pictured on the right: An abandoned cart with grocery bags in it.
Beware...the owner may be lurking nearby.
Spare. God bless. Thank you. Smile.
Sign of homeless man outside a Pizza Pizza on Yonge Street.
In certain parts of Toronto and Hamilton, stores, buildings and in the case of the Hamilton picture on the right, a library's windows need to be covered with bars.
Spotted in Hamilton: There are still good people left in the world. This individual found $400.10 and returned it to the police. If you found that amount of money, would you be as honest?
Broke. Hungry. Homeless. God Bless, Thank you
Sign of homeless man by bus terminals at Jackson Square
Homeless. Trying to get into a Hostel. Anything towards the cost is appreciated
Sign of homeless woman outside Jackson Square
Ace of Base said it best when they sang “I saw the sign(s) and it opened up my eyes”. The walks through Downtown Toronto and Hamilton were truly eye opening to the poverty levels and homelessness on the streets. These are only a few of the many signs we saw while walking through these cities.
Another inspiring human spotted on the streets of Toronto. Using his talents to make money. This man was whittling different birds out of wood.
The street signs of Toronto & Hamilton:
Toronto Signs: Ontario Street, Dundas Street East, Sherbourne Street
Hamilton Signs: Jackson Street East, Wellington Street North
