people really don't appreciate lucy's specific brand of insanity enough imo. she's really just like. I know that i’m not that active here, but I wanted to just share some of my favorite photos of my cat, Bellatrix, who passed away suddenly earlier this month. To say that September has been rough is an understatement.

It's funny how it's always been the Dragneel and Heartfilia families united in the cause to defeat Acnologia, yet, they needed Natsu and Lucy specifically to lead the charge against him in order to be successful. Zeref and Anna put so much thought and effort into constructing the plan and then executing every little part of it but success only came from the parts that were largely out of their control. Zeref didn't bring Natsu back for the specific purpose of killing Acnologia but out of love and the desire for his own death (which then ended with him threatening the plan to defeat Acnologia when he decided to hog the magic of the rift). He only helped by getting Igneel to teach Natsu dragon slayer magic and building the Eclipse portal with Anna's help. It was his inadvertent actions that led to Mavis creating Fairy Tail, which is crucial for Natsu even existing long enough to lead the charge of the dragon slayers against Acnologia, and the Fairy Sphere spell Lucy eventually identified as their last chance against Acnologia. And Anna very much failed to consider how the responsibility she introduced into the lives of her descendants will alter the course of their lives, leading Lucy to find the ultimate solution that didn't even exist when Anna and Zeref set out to defeat Acnologia. In the end, their plan yielded the results they were after but only because they unknowingly created the circumstances that influenced Natsu and Lucy in the exact right way to lead them to find the solution, and that was entirely dependent on Zeref and Anna remaining as uninvolved in their lives as possible. If either of them had stepped in and tried to steer events the way they thought would be most beneficial, this outcome likely wouldn't have happened. It's an interesting middle ground between Zeref's insistence that a person's fate is sealed and they're (mostly) helpless to change it and Natsu's resolve to burn fate to ashes and forge his own path. Zeref wanted to throw away the only world he'd ever known to be able to control his existence and forge it in the way that he wants while Natsu and Lucy found everything they needed in what they already had and they succeeded where he couldn't and never would.
