This year has been hard. I mean the gut wrenching, unavoidable, runaway freight-train, soul leveling, don’t want to get out of bed type of difficult.

I moved 700 miles away, returned to academia after 6 years, and lost my father to a battle with Alzheimer’s; all at the same time. My life came to a high-speed, derailed, overturned stop.
