ok after the shitshow that was hbh s2 i actually thought s3 was pretty well written but i knew we were never getting out of lobotomised ant

at least being a stoner wasn’t his WHOLE thing this season but they also made his religious trauma into a fucking joke and kept hinting at him discovering he’s bi to bait us and reduced his overbearing mother to a funny little side plot AND even got rid of his connection to harper. like i haaaaater antharper but if you’re gonna write it at least be consistent with it!! he didn’t have one serious scene this whole season like seb had a better story than him. seb.

i will always be mad as hell at hbh writers for throwing away my favourite character when he had that much potential

I really just miss the simplicity of s1 I think. I miss when Hawkins really did feel like a close-knit town, I miss when characters weren't all over the place, and there was just some type of grain in the film, even if it was filmed in 2015. I also miss the character building. Jim was a divorced alcoholic. Jonathan was a 'creep' and had a rough upbringing. Nancy was your typical popular, pretty schoolgirl, but she was in love with the so-called creep and could handle a gun. And Joyce was just a single mother, being driven to the brink of insanity. I just feel like nowadays, there's no time for character development, or no thought put behind it at all.

I really miss when stranger things did feel like an eighties, small town, cop sci-fi thriller with horror elements. Now it just feels like a long, drawn out season of some shitty marvel cash grab show.
