“Fuck it. I’m buying a mouse. Or five.”
“You should... They’re a-actually very loving and s-sweet creatures...”
Can you just- give me a minute?
Yeah... S-Sorry... Do you need anything?
“Didn’t what?”
“I didn’t mean to block y-you’re light... I apologize...”
“Move. You’re blocking my light.”
“Excuse me... I-I didn’t... Sorry...”
“Shit, what? …no.”
“So... If you didn’t eat the cake, who did?”
“Well, uh—-.. fuck.”
“It’s alright, I bet we can do something with it still.”
“I’m pretty sure that you put in salt instead of sugar.”
“I’m pretty sure that you put in salt instead of sugar.”
“Oh my... Are you alright?”
“Yes, I know how to play the guitar. I went through a phase like anyone else…unfortunately.”
“Now─ either ask for a song and receive, or hold your tongue.”
“U-Um... Do you know anything by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus?”
“I don’t think it’s really all that bad. Things could always be worse, right?”
“I-I guess so... Still it’s not good.”
"What did you just do?! I was about to beat the game, what did you do?!"
Dennis found himself enthralled with the way her eyelashes hit her cheek with every blink, eyes fixed firmly on him. Such a timid little thing, and all his. He took her head turning up towards him as permission, closing the distance between them and capturing her lips in a hungry kiss. With a soft sigh, he pressed her small frame back further against the wall, mouth warm and pliant against his own.
It had been quite some time since Suzy was kissed and definitely not like this. There was something behind his lips that she wasn't familiar with, an intensity she could never match. Her arms moved up for a moment as if she was going to wrap them around him but they got stunted halfway and just lingered in the air. As her body now pressed against the wall she squeaked slightly in surprised before looking up to him again. "Sorry, I didn't mean to... Um, do that..."
Dennis dragged his thumb down from her lip, along her throat and down over her collarbone. If he got another unsure answer, he was prepared to let her walk, but the word was sure and steady, “Excellent choice, Mouse. If you want me to stop, you say the word. Understand?”
Suzy's breathing was skipping like a record. This wasn't something she was used to and how to react was another thing that she found unsure. Instead of speaking again she nodded her head, blinking up at him as she did so. She admired his features briefly as her head tilted ever so slightly for him.
Dennis nodded, stepping forward until he was basically pressing her against the wall. His thumb traced her lower lip, where her teeth dug in like knives. “And are you staying or going?”
Suzy felt herself freeze, as if every piece of her was cement. This wasn't a situation she'd planned for, though she usually didn't plan for anything that happened to her. With a slow breath her eyes gracefully slid up to look at him. His touch sent the hairs on the back of her neck into a vertical position. "I-I... I don't..." It was difficult to think, better yet, come up with words. "Stay." Mentally she scolded herself, knowing she couldn't be getting into anything good.
Dennis glanced over his shoulder at the girl, watching her sway for a few lingering seconds. There was something about her innocent obedience that was addicting. He had attempted to be a good person in the library, but the problem with that was simple - he wasn’t one. There was no use pretending. “Tell me, Mouse. Did you come here because you wanted to, or because I told you to?”
For a moment she just stood there, trying to think of the correct answer, though her efforts failed. She shrugged her shoulders and let her teeth sink nervously into her lip. "I-I don't know... I just kind of did... I'm sorry I just like, followed you."
Dennis kept her close, leading her with a hand in the small of her back the few blocks to his walk up. Once the ornate key had twisted in the lock, he turned on a lamp, flooding the living room with light. “Can I get you a drink to warm up? Hot chocolate? Whiskey?”
Suzy wasn't exactly sure what she was getting herself into but she followed anyway. There was a feeling is mysteriousness when it came to Dennis which kept her quite intrigued. Once they arrived at his place she stood awkwardly in his living room. One of her hands rested on her other forearm and her body swayed gently. "No thank you... I'm not really thirsty or anything."
