I really can't stand when people use culture as an excuse to continue harmful behavior. If you live in a country that is different than your culture you need to pay attention to what you say/do. It may be totally okay to critique someone's lifestyle and life decisions as soon as you meet them in your culture but if you do that to me I have every right to tell you to shut tf up and feel angry. You don't get a pass to be jackass just because you were raised different.

I would not get my politics from tumblr. Although there are many level headed people there are also just some really out there non rational people.... Unchecked capitalism is bad and communism is also bad! Please lets not jump from one extreme to another. Our goal is Denmark not the USSR. Also please understand that many people on the other side arent "evil", they're frustrated and misguided. Also stop using identity politics to prop up terrible people. Idc that Kamala Harris is poc and that Pete buttigieg is gay, they have terrible records and take big money. You guys have to recognize that corporate greed and classism are the enemies. That the 1% are buying our politicians. You need to understand that we have a government that will spend trillions on endless war in a country that did not attack us but turn around and say we cant afford health care. These people are liars! We need to recognize the horrible role money plays. We need to fight it but also understand that it is not good for the government to control every aspect of an economy either.

Honestly what’s really upsetting about this whole seungri situation is that some of yall do not have your priorities straight. I see people talking about YG’s sales, JFC SALES! Some people are like oh no I hope this doesnt lower my kpop band’s sales or oh no big bangs sales are going to drop. Meanwhile others are like Haha that’s what YG gets for messing up 2NE1. Get over your bias group for 1 second please!!! THERE ARE VICTIMS!! RAPE VICTIMS!!! GET YOUR PRIORITIES STRAIGHT JFC

WHAT DID SEUNGRI DO

If you go to Soompi (I know, not the best source but not a lot of international media is covering this and reading korean news is difficult for me at least lol) you will find a ton of articles about this case, this is far more than just Seungri.

If you have Instagram, the account _bittertruth shares a lot of information on the case too.

But basically, Seungri was found to be in this chatroom with other male celebrities where they shared videos of women being drugged and raped. Seungri’s club Burning Sun has also been caught up in a prostitution/human trafficking scandal and I’m pretty sure there have been messages found where Seungri “gave” girls to a football team (he was basically their pimp). There has also been a video where a woman in Burning Sun was dragged away towards a room and she was obviously struggling but no one reacted. So Seungri most likely knew girls were being drugged and raped at his club and he was also found to hire prostitutes to some business party. While there’s no proof he himself raped women, his friends in the gc (especially JJY, Jung Joon Young) admitted (and bragged about it) to raping and drugging women, saying stuff like “I gave her sleeping pills” and “how about we rape them in the car” and stuff like that. This case is also super huge since it ties into other corruption cases in Korea all the way to 2015 or 2016 (can’t exactly remember). So Seungri and his friends are just a small piece of this story.

There’s way more information out there but this is what I remember at the top of my head so far, hope it could help!

Idc who tf gets their career smashed. If they going to cheer on rape or participate they deserve whatever hell awaits tbh. Idc if tomorrow it's my bias or whatever. Theres not a person in this world I would support if they did what these men have done.
