I was wondering if you could write for a little idea I had in mind this morning.
We're going through a heatwave here and I rained for the first time in 2 or 3 weeks (it's exceptional, we're known for our shitty weather) this night. There was heavy rain, a bit of hail and big thunders as if there were explosions in the sky and it made me think about how Cybertronian (war veterans PTSD) would have react to that.
Roddy would just freak out at first (Nyon) and either try to play it cool or straight up jumping in your arms
Fort Max going to hide behind a door or under his blanket (do they have blankets? They should)
Swerve either going to hide or getting his shotgun to protect you
Soundwave thinking the autobots have lost their mind and he takes you to safety
Kup, just like Soundwave, thinks the Decepticons are attacking
Tarn trying to get to Megatron thinking it's the right distraction
And on and on and on....
What do you think !
I can see that happening the first bad storm they experience on earth, especially if it’s at night

Fort Max x Reader
• Startling online at the distant boom, you make a startled noise when he sits up and you go sliding where you’d been sprawled on his chassis. For a confused klik, he’s back there. Back at Garrus-9. Cupping a hand against you as his plating lifts slightly, a thunderous rumbling fills the night, the air electric. Snarling as your confused voice says his name, he swings his legs over the edge of the berth, bending to grab a weapon. Is it your people or the Decepticons coming? Or Overlord? Venting angrily, he’s thankful you’d been too tired after watching a movie with him to return to the dorms on the other side of base. That you’re here where he can protect you.
• Disoriented as he cups you against his chassis, you yawn and hear the thunder rumbling outside. And he’s snarling in his own language as he hefts an alarmingly big gun and you’re suddenly very awake. “Max? Big guy, what’s happening?” You ask and he grimaces, rumbling angrily. ‘They won’t harm you. Not while I live,’ he growls and your brow creases. Who is he talking about? Is someone out there using the storm as cover? Heart racing, you cling to his servos. “Who is it?”
• “I don’t know,” he murmurs, awkwardly pinning the blaster against his side so he can thumb off the safety without putting you down. “But they’ll regret this night.” Baring his denta at another explosion that seems to shake the very ground, he remembers thousands of war zones. The noise and heat, the chaos and confusion that tried to overwhelm him. He’d only been fighting for duty then. Now there’s you to protect. ‘All I hear is the thunder,’ you’re saying, frowning up at him and he clears his vents on a growl.
• Is anyone really out there or is the storm just messing with him. Feeling his aggressive rumbling thrumming through you as his servos flex against you, you’re smoothing a hand against his chassis. “Max, I think we’re okay,” you tell him, but he’s not listening, slowly turning in a circle in the middle of his habsuite, optics narrowed as they dart from wall to wall at every little sound. And he flinches when the rain begins, hammering on the metal roof of the hanger they’d repurposed into habsuites as his optics lift to the ceiling, his expression less certain. “It’s just a storm.”
• Venting raggedly as another frame rattling boom shakes through him, he can hear the rain coming down. This storm more violent than he’s used to. Angry almost. “A storm,” he repeats, servos flexing on the blaster. Not bombs. Thunder. Plating slowly settling, he can’t quite meet your eyes. Embarrassed at the panic still clawing inside him. Remembering Garrus-9 against his will. The pain and fear he’s tried so hard to forget and move on from swamping him so easily. ‘You’re okay,’ you whisper as you smooth a hand against his servos and he doesn’t know what to make of you trying to take care of him when it should be his job to reassure and care for you. ‘Let’s go back to bed, okay?’
Imagine dating Astrotrain and telling your friends about this guy you’ve been seeing. He’s really got his life “on track”. Super focused and dedicated. Doesn’t let anything “derail” him. Yeah he’s got a lot of hobbies, they help him “let off steam”.
You won’t believe how easy he is to talk to, it didn’t take long for our relationship to “gain traction.”
