advice on how to be yourself and not let mental illness affect your perception of yourself?

hmm i guess mental illness or whatever does influence my perception of myself because it's a material factor in my reality but that's not necessarily a bad thing? while there are times where it's crippling, world crushing, et-cetera...in the day today im just a freak like everybody else ive ever met. if i meet people in the middle with all the sincerity and idiosyncrasies i have to offer they tend to meet me right back and in feeling insecure i can lean on those people, because it's okay to feel insecure, scared, et cetera... "do it scared" has really been my motto lately haha

im pretty cool and weird and people respond to me and part of that is that my brain is tweaky and ive had to put in hard work to learn how to love life and that's given me a really great appreciation for the process of engaging with that love!! good and bad is a false dichotomy and there's more to mental illness than just eating shit over n over again...i think it's real important to get comfortable with the process of living in yourself cuz you're the only you you got. i feel like im giving just godawful mental health advice right now lmfao
