Butcher`s Crossing by John Williams. The story follows William Andrews, a young Harvard student who leaves his life behind to explore the American West. The book begins and ends in the fictional frontier town of Butcher's Crossing, Kansas, in the early 1870s, where Andrews joins a buffalo-hunting expedition. He and the people he meets along the way must confront and survive the brutal realities of nature in their attempts to get buffalo hides to sell. Along the way, Andrews contemplates his purpose in life with respect to nature, specifically through the influence of Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Last night, already in bed about to fall asleep, I got an email from Etsy.

Someone reported my listing for the "Bridgerton" trademark, which belongs to Netflix. Netflix confirmed the report and my listing was removed - with no right to appeal. While thousands of other Bridgerton rebind listings on the same platform have been selling for years.

I don't sell the text. I sell customization of an official, licensed copy. I don't use AI, I don't use any identity or branding that belongs to Netflix.

The paintings on my page edges are my own original fan art - inspired by the book, not the show. While other sellers on Etsy use recognizable motifs and faces from the series. But they don't get strikes. I don't make thousands of dollars. Sometimes I barely break even. I pay my taxes. I do my work with quality, on time, and honestly. I put my soul and heart into every piece - hours of work and the best materials I can find.

And now my shop is under threat of removal. I'm upset and angry.

I want to start a blog, but I have no idea how or what to write about… If I write something from my own life, I'll scare everyone around me. If I write some random stuff, I'll look like an AI. I don't know what to write except my dark thoughts about what's happening in the world, about my imposter syndrome and self-doubts. About the fact that handmade craft is not appreciated, there are no orders, and I don't know how to do anything else… Adult life sucks.
