PLOT POINT

DETAIL – FULL PICTURE Each scene is shown from two points of view : first frame is concentrating on the face , the second shows the same situation from a wider angle. My intention was to make the sets a bit surprising and rising doubts. I also wanted to question the objectivity of photography and social perception of the image of a woman figure. “Me”- REALITY The photographs froze women in the "here and now " at the same time they seem to be in an unspecified reality. The heroines are distancing themselves from the real world . The reality is something surprising for them – it’s not meeting their expectations and arousing extreme emotions: anxiety , anger, passivity , nostalgia , longing . Situations in which those characters are found stand in opposition to the pop - cultural image of a young woman . At the same time the portraits are an attempt to project this pop-cultural image to an actual person. PAST - FUTURE

The title “PLOT POINT” is a suggestion that the photographs - kept in a film-like aesthetics, are part of some story. The set focuses on capturing the moment of the beginning of a metaphorical future , the secret of change. And this very moment is the thread that connects all the images . The title suggests that from this point things will go in a different and unknown direction.

DETAL-OGÓŁ

Każda scena ujęta jest z dwóch punktów: pierwszy kadr skoncentrowany jest na twarzy, drugi przedstawia tę samą sytuację w szerszym planie. W moim zamierzeniu zestawienie zdjęć ma rodzić niewiadome i być nieco zaskakujące. Chciałam także postawić pytania o obiektywizm fotografii i społecznego postrzegania wizerunku kobiety.

JA-RZECZYWISTOŚĆ

Na fotografiach zamrożone w „tu i teraz” kobiety, jednocześnie tkwią w zupełnie innej, nieokreślonej rzeczywistości. Bohaterki dystansują się od świata rzeczywistego. Rzeczywistość jest dla nich czymś zaskakującym, nie spełniającym ich oczekiwań i budzącym skrajne stany: lęk, gniew, bierność, nostalgię, tęsknotę. Sytuacje w których znajdują się postaci stoją w kontrze do pop-kulturowego wizerunku młodej kobiety. Jednocześnie w portretach widoczna jest próba swoistej projekcji tego obrazu na rzeczywiste osoby.

PRZESZŁOŚĆ-PRZYSZŁOŚĆ

Tytuł PLOT POINT jest sugestią, że fotografie - utrzymane w stylistyce filmowej narracji, są częścią fabuły. Cykl koncentruje się na uchwyceniu momentu metaforycznego początku przyszłości, tajemnicy zmiany. I ten właśnie moment jest wątkiem łączącym wszystkie obrazy. Tytuł sugeruje, że od tego punktu wszystko potoczy się inaczej.
