Jaw dropping costumes from Poor Things, so good to see them close up. Exquisite use of colour, films, frills and unusual materials- latex anyone?
Ideas here from Simone Rocha for how to finish my cape... enjoying the stiff fabric, gathering and contrasting ribbons
Stop frame fun with ink and type
Highlights of Balloon world, amazing inflatable faces, saturated colours and lettering on balls
Highlights from Sarah Lucas at the Tate: her reflections on modern culture, body image, portraiture and the use of light are hugely inspiring to me. Her way of taking everyday objects and forcing us to look at them anew...
Highlights of Women In Revolt at the Tate Britain. Inspired by the use of messages/ slogans, colour and sewn objects.

Things are coming together with this piece....
Screenprinted U on deconstructed men's shirts and silver lamé on tulle, experiments for a bigger piece. The pink ink is mixed with white on the screen, and the first paper print is how I want it to look, with the vibrancy of the pink showing against/ next to the white... Happy with this generally and will be overprinting text, also using screenprinting...
While I make my Pomegranate seeds I'm also looking at the structure of my maquette. Inspiration from David Bowie for shape and sister Corita Kent for her use of colour and lettering. At the moment I want to paint or screenprint large letters YOU or U on found fabrics, then overlay with newspaper print and add ribbons and straps.
Loving the pink with dark blue, yellow, coral and possibly silver
Weird little Pomegranate seeds. Cyanotype phrases/mantras on fabric, embroidered then covered in wool and tulle.

Lots of gorgeous little details, and many of my fave little netsuke sculptures

Screenprint, cyanotype and embroidery. The embroidery needs to pop more...
