All clothes by J.W. Anderson; socks by Hanes. “The idea of luxury is no longer there and therefore we look to reality. As a designer, you’re meant to pick up on a feeling and there’s something in normality that feels off-kilter,” declares J. W. Anderson.

Last weekend I headed to the Saatchi gallery with a good friend of mine.
HERMÈS WANDERLAND is currently showing at the gallery; a Quintessentially Parisian journey through the fashion houses’ world. The exhibition reveals the unexpected.
“The journey through Wanderland draws its coherence from two intrinsic elements of la flânerie: dreaming and freedom of spirit”, explains Bruno Gaudichon, curator of La Piscine-Musée d'Art et d'Industrie in Roubaix, who was commissioned to create the exhibition.
Quite literally, I felt I had stepped into Alice’s magical world, dragged further and further into the rabbit hole.
The maze leads visitors through a selection of themed and interactive rooms, presenting the product history of Hermes through sounds and visuals. Whether it be looking into a revolving teacup which holds a small video instillation, or stepping onto an interactive mirrored floor space which speaks to those passing by, the Hermes exhibition is not one to be missed.
