Everyone thinks that courage is about facing death without flinching. But almost anyone can do that. Almost anyone can hold their breath and not scream for as long as it takes to die. True courage is about facing life without flinching. I don’t mean the times when the right path is hard, but glorious at the end. I’m talking about enduring the boredom, the messiness, and the inconvenience of doing what is right.
Robin Hobb, The Mad Ship (via feellng)
I’m going to enjoy every second, and I’m going to know I’m enjoying it while I’m enjoying it. Most people don’t live; they just race. They are trying to reach some goal far away on the horizon, and in the heat of the going they get so breathless and panting that they lose sight of the beautiful, tranquil country they are passing through; and then the first thing they know, they are old and worn out, and it doesn’t make any difference whether they’ve reached the goal or not.
Jean Webster (via feellng)
You're my last smoke before the snowstorm
My mothers cure for depression:
1. Hot yoga
2. Sperm
3. Shopping - you get a buzz after $500 if blown
4. Manicure
Don't look at me
Let's talk about money, expectations and the grind. All of which are delusions planted in our minds as children by the generation befores' belief that money and hard work will pave the road to a successful life. Then expect us to follow suite. Something changed in this generation though, there's a new flow to experience I don't think our parents understand. There's movement in our souls that pushes us to slow down and lay in a field of fucking flowers and breathe in the oxygen we take for granted every minute of breathing. There's something that a shit hole apartment overflowing with potted plants and paint on every piece of clothing that we own that appeals to our cluttered souls. There's magic in the black morning coffee that gives us satisfaction with every sip. There's a dark feeling that consumes like a galaxy of stars where we feel so small and never understood by anyone let alone ourselves. You are made of stardust. You are one with the hand you hold as you exploded from the same atom and re gathered into bodies to one day hold and regroup in a long standing bond. You are the soulmate of every man and woman you scorn. Stop fighting and relax into the inconceivable reality you're spirit was brought into. Flow to the rhythm of the river that carries us all along. Spend time on the river banks and catch your breath. Be true be you be. Be. Be. Be. Be. Be. Be. Be. Be. Be. Be. Be. Be. Be. Be. Be. When did we stop simply being?
The pursuit of truth and beauty is a sphere of activity in which we are permitted to remain children all our lives.
