So, I’ve been in Perú for exactly two weeks now. Honestly, I’ve had a lot more hardships than necessarily wanted for only being here for two weeks. If you know me, you know I have a very sensitive stomach.. and well, all this new food is not being very nice to my poor stomach. I’ve been sick a lot while being here and am hoping to adapt completely to everything very soon. Besides that, I LOVE PERU. The weather is very humid and hot, which I have surprisingly adapted to, and honestly don’t mind it. Now I understand why Armando and most of his friends prefer riding motorcycles, the traffic is INSANE and no one gives a f**k, seriously. People are constantly cutting each other off, honking, and not paying attention. On top of that locals, women, men, and children walk between, up and down selling things like; candy, waters & sodas, corn, etc. Children juggle balls and dance with hula hoops in front of all the traffic, I’m scared for them! Haha. Wednesday we went to Lacomar which is a shopping center on a cliff overlooking the ocean. Unfortunately for us it was so foggy we couldn’t see the ocean. So then we made a trip to La Punta, Callao. Callao is another district in Perú that runs along a beach. A lot of people come to walk, eat and play Pokémon Go (haha). As I was sitting down and Armando playing his Pokémon this little girl comes up to me and starts talking to me in Spanish. I was confused at first but we started talking about simple things like " what is your name?", "where are you from?" "How old are you?". Her two little brothers then came over and started to talk to me as well. To say the least, it completely made my day, being able to hear these little kids talking so fast in another language somehow blew me away. Tomorrow we are headed to the South where there is a beach called Arica. We will be staying with some friends in a beach house. I'm looking forward to it and will have another post up hopefully next week sometime.. ¡adios amigos!
