Some of my quicker model studies. I'm having so much fun in figure painting this semester! I feel like I'm finally finding a more solid working method :)

Another painting + process :)
My latest figure study :)
Finished billboard illustration :) It has some compositional and value issues, but I learned a lot and had a lot of fun! I chose to do one for the science fiction book store, which has all kinds of fun books, movies and games.
Hello all! Long time no seen. I apologize for the lack of posts lately. I will be uploading more of my recent work soon, along with a bunch of process. For now I leave you with my first ever made process gif :)
If you’d like to see more of what I’ve been up to, look up @virdarson on instagram.
Happy Sunday!
The cosmic lovers, process and close ups.

I got an iPod Pro as an early birthday gift. I've had so much fun sketching with it!

Since I wasn’t able to bring my art supplies with me back to Sweden, I bought some fresh materials today. I found a European brand that I’d never used before but that’s supposedly high quality. It’s also been around for generations so I’m surprised I hadn’t heard of it. I’m so excited to try it out!
Some late night scribbles. I’m having a hard time adjusting to the right time zone ^^’
And my mom is helping me fill in my sketchbook (:
One of the last days in the painting studio. I’m slowly adapting to everyday life, where studio work is not constantly taking up my time. It’s a bit of a bitter sweet existence. Being home is lovely and relaxing, but being in school isn’t so bad either (; Especially when being surrounded and inspired by all those amazing people! Still, I’ll do my best to keep the art flow going, and taking time for all my friends, both near and far away (:
A two page spread illustration for a magazine article, for illustration class.
As the title suggest, the article talked about how aboriginal children face harsher treatment, and are more likely to be refused bail, then their non-indigenous peers.
I wanted to make a more symbolistic approach for this piece (although the dunce hat is pretty straight forward). The kookaburra (who are native to Australia) that are caged in the body of the policeman, represents the aborigines, whereas the European goldfinches who are feeding from his palm is an introduced species, thereby representing the non-indigenous population.
