Sophie Turner for Glamour Mexico, Summer 2015
bringthecain:
“I thought you would be at least a little more confiding. I can bring her over. Show you the former bite, but other than that - I don’t want to put in her in danger again just for the sake of seeing it in action.”
“If the world wasn’t like it is I’d be more inclined to follow a potentially false lead as not as much would be at stake, the world now... It doesn’t allow for missteps. One small mishap and things could be made infinitely worse – look at the Maverick incident.”
“That makes sense. We don’t want to lose more lives if we can help it. If you bring her in – if the evidence is substantial – we can start investigating her. She may be our best lead to finding a breakthrough if she actually did what you said she did.”
simplysophieturner:
“I’m a Rihanna, Beyonce kind of person.”
bringthecain:
“I can’t really give you any proof immediately.”
“I’m not doing it then – not until I see the proof. I can’t condone working towards something that might not even exist. Until I see it with my own eyes you’ll have to do it alone.”
Get to Know Me Meme: 5/10 - female celebrities Sophie Turner
“I learn something new everyday about myself as an actor, my capabilities, how far I can stretch myself, throw out emotions I never knew I had.”
“That’s impossible - you have no proof.”

A Common Goal {Hannah&Charlotte}
bringthecain:
A cure. The phrase cause the former scientist to freeze in her step. It felt as if she was talking to David once again. Her entire being was stuck in this giant flashback.
Her arms were extended out, eyes flickering towards one of the few individuals she spoke to at her work. She had no idea how they were the only ones to escape. Her mind was still stuck on the way the blood flecked against the glass wall. The way Dr. Clarke’s neck ripped out like putty against the spore-ridden tar that leaked from the infected’s lips. David sat there with her in silence. They were in his pickup truck. A rarity in New York. The wind was brushing past her soft expression. They were heading south, in hopes of finding a safer place to remain in. ‘I want to find a cure.’ He spoke softly, sounding almost inspired by it all. ‘A cure? Is that even possible now? I mean, with all that happened back at the lab –.’ She sounded doubtful, not even sure of herself anymore. It was one of the lowest points the brunette had been in ages. Charlotte stared at him for a long while. As he spoke, there seemed to be hope. Hope in the smallest slivers of doubt. In a short few weeks, they had made progress towards that. Attempting to find a live sample and make some progress of it. Make this living hell a little easier. It was too bad that most of their efforts were for nothing. The way her chest constricted at the thought. It was what she was looking for so long. A partner in crime. She didn’t expect anyone to do so. She honestly didn’t even expect her plan to plow through. It was one of the few reasons why she chose to go into the council. The brunette wanted the power to work towards the cure. Her efforts were rare. There was hardly any leak in the system. Charlotte was definitely not corrupt enough to ask her own friends to allow her to pass through the borders of the city to obtain a live sample to bring back. And yet, all of her plotting, her theories, her inspiration was lying right in front of her. In a child of all people. “A cure is a noble goal.” The brunette stared at her for a while. She wondered - was it worth it? From the look of the messy work, the ginger needed help anyway. All in all - this was a part of her plan. Having someone significantly younger, it felt more so of a internship than a partnership. That was a relationship she didn’t mind. “I’ll let you off for one condition. I work with you. I was formerly a scientist at Brookhaven Laboratories. We were working on a cure when the outbreak first hit. I had a co-worker. We were traveling along the country before finding a live sample to take down. I probably have some information to help you a bit more than just raw observation. Do you mind updating me on your findings thus far?” Charlotte glanced over to the redhead queen. “And probably an explanation on how you got these bodies.”
Something in the other woman’s form changed upon hearing the simple word ‘cure’. It was like she’d drawn back into herself slightly and was remembering something from her past. It was like the mere word had triggered something in the woman that hadn’t been there mere moments previously. It was like a film had descended over her eyes and catapulted her into her mind as memories played in front of her eyes.
It was interesting to watch the change in the woman – what had previously been a woman apparently against the work that Hannah was doing morphed into something that seemingly wasn’t as against it as she had been previously. It was as if the woman was stuck in a pained relief as she remained in the doorway of the blood-splattered class room.
Hearing the words that came from the brunette’s lips caused a hesitant nod from the still-nervous teenager, her eyes remained focussed on the woman who’d managed to stumble upon her work chamber. Though she was fairly sure – for now, at least – that she’d be getting away with some of her actions she didn’t know how long that outlook on the situation would last. She didn’t know this woman, after all. She couldn’t read this woman completely and she definitely could put all of her trust in her just yet.
A sigh of relief that the redheaded teenager hadn’t realised she was holding was exhaled when she heard the next words to come from the brunette’s lips. She’d been let off. She was in the clear. She’d be free to continue her research as long as she accepted the woman as a partner.
It was a no brainer really.
Hannah barely knew what she was doing – all she’d done was learned from books and browsing the internet. She had no experience in properly cutting into bodies; she was merely winging it and hoping that she’d gather results. So far it’d seemed to work somewhat but it wasn’t enough. If she managed to work with this woman then that process would be improved immensely.
“Of course. I’m not about to turn away any well appreciated help – especially not from someone as distinguished as you,” Hannah said, her head tilting slightly as a small smile curved up the corners of her mouth. Turning slightly away from the brunette, the teen gestured to the hearts that had been insistently pressing into her back until that moment. “I’ve not gotten much so far, I’ve just been trying to work out any visual differences between organs – see if anything like cysts or tumours spring up within the infected and if so how they differentiate between different stages of the infection. Though I’ve seen nothing of that sort, there’s definitely a difference between them.” At this point Hannah began prodding at the three hearts draped in front of her with one of her fingers as if to exaggerate her next point. “This one,” she pointed at the heart she’d only recently removed from the body still lying on the table, “has a much firmer lining to it, it’s seemingly much less elastic than either of the other two and apparently has the lowest infestation of spores within it. That’s to be expected though, seeing as the body was seemingly much earlier in the process than either of the others.”
Before she could continue her explanation about her findings, she was once more frozen in fear when she heard the next question to come from the brunette’s lips. Where did she get the bodies? Did she really want to share that? Sure, she’d agreed to work with the woman but did that really mean that she could trust her so quickly? She couldn’t trust her, the redhead knew that much, but she also had no other choice.
If she wanted this to stay between them she had to tell the woman. Taking in a breath the teenager turned around to face the woman once again, her cerulean eyes searching the others face for any sign of sympathy that could ease some of the tenseness she was feeling.
“There’s a gap in the wall just behind the school. I lure them in through that one at a time and manage to get them in through the back doors. Barely anyone uses the back half of the school – I thought it’d be safe. They wouldn’t get exposed to the infected and I’d be able to try and do something to end this mess.”
Thorns for a Huntress {{Hannah&Elijah}}
elijah-santos:
He could still taste the metal in his mouth. Time had done nothing to ease his suffering. If anything, it had numbed him further. In order to continue on, he had to dive deeper into the darkened place that had grown to be a friend of his. How could he break when the city needed him most? How could he break when people were missing? How could he break when he was the reason for the death of his people? And not just the average civilian, but a council member. Frankie. He was there as Xavier shot her, slit a knife along the bow of her throat. Disposed of in a flicker of a second. Her blood mixing with the snow. Dahlia hunched over her body and weeping for the death of her best friend. Hadn’t the world done enough to them? When would it decide that they could live peacefully? Because if there was more dangers to come, how many would survive? No. Elijah couldn’t think this way. He had to do what he needed for those around him. He had to demonstrate that they could go on. One step at a time. Death, wounds, destruction and all – they would make it through this. It was why taking Hannah out of the gates had become more important than it would have before. Because he needed to be free from the sights and the sounds of his grief. The problem was she hadn’t listened and he was running headfirst into what had altered his life. An infected clamping down on his arm. He had survived, though the moments where he considered that he wouldn’t, that he would be ending his own life before he had a chance to turn, those memories were fresh as the morning sun. Perhaps, they had made it easier to pull the trigger. They had tried to take what he wanted most: to survive. Xavier’s gang had too. He wouldn’t forget. He would make sure they paid their price. Until then, it was him and Hannah and the clickers which were dead, becoming one with the ground. The bite, a large scar in the present, on his arm burned slightly– a reminder. He didn’t speak as she rose to her feet. He swung his backpack from his shoulder and opened it up to pull out a cloth. He took hold of Hannah’s hand and cleaned the blood from in between her fingers and the creases in her palm. “I figured you’d want this off sooner rather than later.” After glancing over her skin, he nodded in approval, and returned the cloth to his bag. It was then he addressed what she had spoken earlier. “Never doubt me. When I make a promise, I keep it. I’m glad I got here in time.” Or else that would be another death on his hands.
“We’re going to have to move fast to get away from here. If they’re lingering this close to the perimeter, it won’t be fun for us. Oh–” He stopped, once again undoing the zipper of his pack. “I made you something as an apology for well, before. And It was a uh… good distraction.” Elijah cleared his throat as he passed Hannah the crown he composed out of filed down thorns and dead bark, something he figured the teen would appreciate.
Red stained through layers of the teenagers pale porcelain skin as it began to snake its way down to collect in the palm of her hand. The blood wasn’t hers – it was gathered from one of the dead bodies on the ground beneath her. It was blood of the clickers, willingly taken. She could almost feel the liquid thrumming with life in her palm, she could almost feel how corrupt it had become once the spores had invaded its host and taken over.
She could almost feel the life that once was the man whose blood was on her hands.
Merely having the blood coating her fingers and palm reminded her of why she’d started hunting in the first place, it reminded her of years of neglect as a young teenager where her only solace was in the wilderness with her bow and arrows.
The feel of the blood slowly beginning to dribble down her arm reminded her of why she continued to survive.
A cure.
She needed to find a cure to prove that her experimentation hadn’t been for nothing.
The teenager was drawn from her internal musings when she felt Elijah’s large yet gentle hands grasp her own as he began to wipe the blood away. The action caused Hannah’s cheeks to flare up a vivid scarlet colour, something that starkly contrasted her usually pale cheeks, and she lowered her gaze down towards the man’s hand. Her eyes remained focussed on the motions of his fingers as they tangled amongst her own in order to clear them of the red substance that was soaking into them.
At least they remained on his moving digits before her cerulean blue gaze fell onto a peculiar looking scar adorning the man’s forearm. It looked like teeth marks – as if he’d been bitten – but that was impossible. Nobody was able to survive a bite and retain their senses, right?
Before she could stop herself, not that she’d want to stop herself, the redhead moved her free hand towards the scar and lightly traced the edges of it. For that moment in time she was completely oblivious to the man’s words, focussed instead on the marred tanned skin of his forearm. Drawing her wide azure eyes back towards his dark ones, the teenager spoke up. “How did you get this? It looks like-” Hannah took in a deep breath as her eyes remained fixed onto Elijah’s. If it was possible that he was somehow immune then others could be too – right? It opened up a world of new possibilities for her research. “It looks like a bite from the infected but that’s impossible.”
It was as she was gazing into the dark depths of his eyes that she snapped out of her trace and pulled her hand away from the man’s forearm, yet another flush burning up her cheeks. “I’m sorry – I’ve only met you once before. I didn’t know that you were going to turn up though I’m glad you did. If you didn’t turn up then I would’ve been worse than dead.”
As his next words filtered through the redheaded teenagers mind she tried to push away the possibility that Elijah had somehow survived being bitten. It was impossible, a mere delusion in a world swamped with chaos. It wasn’t worth even thinking about. A small smile curled up the corners of the porcelain-skinned girl’s lips when the man began taking something that he’d made for her from his pack.
Upon seeing what appeared to be a crown of thorns in his hand the smile adorning Hannah’s features only widened as she took it from him and placed it on her own head. “Thank you- but you didn’t have to do this for me.”

Trix sat with her hand gun in pieces on the table in front of her. Rag in hand she was working on cleaning the different parts. “While you’re standin’ there gawpin’ you’re right in the way of the fuckin’ light, sweetheart.”
A deep crimson began spreading across porcelain cheeks when the woman she’d been watching called her out on being in the way. “Uh- I’m sorry. I was just impressed at how well you were handling the gun, is all,” Hannah said before moving away from the light and sinking down to the floor not too far away, a hand absentmindedly brushing across her ribs where the bullet wound was still healing.

After the exhausting night, Ivy got to fall asleep. It was in a weird situation, though. It didn’t exactly matter how she ended up i that room, or that her steps were weary when she stared at the readhaired while walking towards instead of away from her this time. She fell asleep on a chair, next to her bed. Elijah’s jacket served as a blanket and whilst all the edges of her latest memories, nothing seemed to be hurting the face of an angel people could see on the girl when she was asleep. Her hands were bruised, just as her shoulders felt heavy. Nonetheless, no pain she could be suffering was comparable to hers. How did a shoot feel?
Ivy took a deep breath and came back to the real world — and a strange relief left too. Waking up to this world felt heavy only after a few seconds. Hannah seemed to be awake.
“ Hey. ” Ivy blushed, taking off the jacket. “ How are you feeling? ”
Hannah was one of the last things she wanted to see the day she appeared in Fall City. Since then, Ivy avoided he like she was the devil herself. Not because she was specially mean or evil, just because she meant a part of her life she could never get back. Now, after that night, Ivy knew she had made a big mistake.
Darkness was peeled away from her vision as her eyelids delicately fluttered open, her long lashes doing little to protect her gaze from the blinding light of the room she found herself in. Almost instantly her cerulean orbs scrunched up and a hand, still stained with dried blood from the nightmare that was the previous day, came up to try and block out what little sunlight was beaming into the room, her eyes needing to adjust to the sudden onslaught of light.
For a moment the redhead merely lay there – wherever there was – and remembered the events of the previous morning. Another group had tried to take over. A war had broke out in the city. She’d tried to protect Ada and the child that would come to be so much more important in this world than anyone else would ever realise. She’d been shot, the bullet easily penetrating her soft flesh and making a home for itself within her rib cage.
At the sound of a sudden deep breath coming from beside her, the teenagers gaze was instantly drawn to the sound, preparing to try and do anything to fight her way out of a confrontation if that was required. A girl sitting there was not what she’d expected. A girl that she vaguely recognised from going to school with her whose name she’d never bothered to learn.
“Where am I? How did I get here? Where’s Ada- the baby? Where’s that redhead who shot me? Did they get out safely?” The questions were fired off rapidly after one another as they filtered into the teenagers mind. She needed more answers than she had questions to be able to calm herself down. She needed to know that her hopes in the child growing in Ada hadn’t gone to waste because the girl had gotten herself killed. She needed to know where she was to be able to figure out an escape should she need to make a hasty exit.
Most of all she needed to know why this girl from her past, of all people, was the one who was sat at her bedside.

A hand rose to his brow bone to caress a source of pain. He apparently hit it in his way through the window. Grace wasn’t something Matt was very good at. His eyes needed to adjust for the moment as he sat in a darkened classroom. The atmosphere was different to that outside. Inside, it was dustier and dank. His body lurched threatening to cough but he stifled the motions. The boy found himself interrupted by yet another voice. All he wanted to be was alone. Was that too much to ask? In that moment of wonder, his hand moved to a place on his belt where his knife should have been sheathed. Being weaponless made him feel vulnerable and naked. But there was no apparent threat.
Just a girl.
Matt blinked. Once, twice and once more till his eyes completely adjusted and she came into full view. He hadn’t seen her before, then again she probably hadn’t seen him either. It wasn’t until then that he finally heard what she had said and he began to push himself up from the floor. “I-I like to make an entrance,” the boy spoke trailing off in a slight hiss. Now he wasn’t sure what to do or who the girl was or why she was even in there. For now he simply offered a small smile and an introduction.
“I’m Matt.”
By the way the boy was acting he was new here. Hannah merely watched as his hand rushed down to his belt – presumably to grab a weapon to defend himself with – only to come up empty. She watched as the realisation dawned on his face that he wasn’t about to be attacked and that he was safe after having presumably struggled for his life on a daily basis beyond the walls. In an effort to make him feel more comfortable the redheaded teen slowly raised her hands in the air to show that she was unarmed, that there was nothing on her person that would be able to harm him.
Whatever awkwardness that had began to creep up on the porcelain-skinned girl during their short standoff was almost instantly washed away when he spoke up and a quiet laugh broke passed Hannah’s lips. “Well you definitely did that,” she said, the corners of her lips still curled upwards into a small smile. It was strange, though, that he’d been trying to ‘make an entrance’ into the school through one of the windows which led into what she’d noticed was the less used part of the building.
It was the part of the building where she’d set up her chamber in order to search for a cure for the infection. It was the part of the building that most people seemed to try and avoid because it was darker, danker, than the rest of the school so it was perfect for her. Why then was this boy lurking around? Hearing the introduction that he gave brought the porcelain-skinned teenagers attention back to the present and another small smile curved up the corners of her mouth.
“I’m Hannah. It’s- strange to meet you here.”

( hanngibson )
So far Fall City proved… normal. A little too normal for what Matt was used too – even before the apocalypse. All he had to do now was walk around, so far he hadn’t been assigned any jobs and it seemed everything was working pretty well without him. The unfortunate thing when it came to Matt was no stimulation meant boredom and boredom was never a good thing for him and his condition. So he had to go looking for something, books, weaponry to practice with – anything until he could get assigned a patrol or something. For the moment he was just wandering around taking his surroundings in.
And then… jackpot.
A school. He hadn’t seen one in such good condition in a long time. He thought about the books and the equipment, he just hoped no one had cleared that much out of it. His leisurely pace quickened to a jog so he could get closer quicker. A few of the windows were boarded up but he could still see in for the most part. He moved along the side of the building until he reached a door. His hands moved to pull it open but nothing – locked from the inside. “Fuck,” he muttered under his breath. He kept moving along till he found a window big enough for him to get into. Luckily there was no need to break it, just one big push to the side and he was in.
THUD!
The school had become a regular haunt for the ghost of a girl who once was. In the not too distant past hallways like these ones would’ve been her stage – she would’ve demanded the attention of those lingering and the respect of those attempting to hastily move out of the way of her path. She would’ve moved like she’d had no care in the world at all about what the future could bring for her. None of that was evident in the porcelain-skinned teenager now. Hannah almost glided through the half-dilapidated rooms now, neither here nor there. She was merely a presence going about the motions in order to survive.
At the sound of a thud coming from the end of the corridor behind her, the hollow shell of the girl that once existed within the redhead turned to face the sound. The teenager’s once enigmatic eyes were blank as she stared at the form of a boy – seemingly a similar age to herself – coming through a window. A somewhat amused smile stretched across the redhead’s face as she rose a questioning eyebrow in the darkness of the hallway.
“You do realise that there’s a front door, right?”
I'm t e a r i n’ through your skin to bone. Breaking through your ribs to your h e a r t.
A Common Goal {Hannah&Charlotte}
bringthecain:
Charlotte walked through the hallway, taking her time in one of the few places that she took refuge in the school. Her body was coated in sweat, a strange contrast against the cold air. There wasn’t necessarily a lot of time to herself. She had just finished another session with Elijah. Since there was less work for her on the council, she tried to keep her mind off of her missing roommate and more on keeping herself busy. She felt as if she needed any sort of extra work she could find. With the clinic filled and her time still bleak in the late afternoon, she chose the school. The library located on the east end of school was a rather un-populated place. She took refuge in some of the scientific journals in their archives.
Though there was a sound that distracted her more. It clashed through the silence of the hallways. She couldn’t help but bring herself to investigate. Her light eyes scanned the room, finding the right room where it was coming from. It was the only room that hand any sort of lights on. Knitting her brows together, she tugged on the wooden door and jarred it open with a loud screech. The first thing she saw was the blood. Her stomach didn’t wane away from it, but rather remained tame. The first thought that flew through her head was reckless. Was this woman apart of the schemes of the bonfire? Was she trying to inject others? Why was she working on this alone then – the messy technique and all? Her expression looked analytical. Almost as if she was studying the work around her.
Her gaze drew on the massacre. The messy cuts, the displaced organs lumped together in one solid sheet, the contaminated substance along the walls. It was all wrong, but at least it was an attempt. It pained her to see such sloppy work. With how young the ginger seemed to be, this may have all been improvisation rather than skill. It pardoned the work, but definitely didn’t depart from what the hell she was doing. Lips parted, the brunette quickly made an effort to cover her mouth with her sleeve. It was precautionary. In her research, sometimes the spores would travel the room at the puncture of the skin.
The woman stared back, all wide-eyed and frightened. Her slender form made her seem like a fawn standing in front of a grizzly truck. Charlotte hardened her gaze towards the woman. She knew that she was caught in her web. Nobody would know of this except her, unless she chose to alter that information. Stepping forward, the brunette didn’t even bother to avoid the puddles. The soles of her shoes soaking up the essence of the room and placing the blood somewhere new. The laboratory was not too far from the central part of the city. However, if the brunette was able to catch her so easily - she definitely wasn’t thinking through it all too much. She looked much too young to be apart of the guard – or any sort of physical labor. It was likely that she never even saw past the central lines of the city. It would make sense why she didn’t stray too far off the map.
“What are you trying to accomplish here – ?”
Any number of words could’ve slipped from the stranger’s lips upon discovering the massacre that was the room. Any number of actions could’ve accompanied said words.
The redhead expected the worst – she’d expected the woman to scream and run to the council to tell them what she’d found in hopes of getting the teenager expelled from the city for her actions. She’d expected the door to close directly behind the woman as she set up for the lecture. She’d expected the room to be used as blackmail against her in the future so that she’d have to succumb to the brunette’s will whenever it was demanded of her – the teenager who was so used to having the control in a situation was expecting to lose it all, was expecting to have to kneel at the feet of a stranger who would use her for who knew what.
Seeing the woman stepping further into the room – which caused the redhead to take steps backwards until she could feel the cold flesh of the hearts she’d been analysing mere moments beforehand to press firmly into her back as her eyes remained fixed on the woman – was not one of those things that she’d expected.
Having her motives questioned was not one of the things she’d expected to hear from the woman’s lips.
For a moment the porcelain teen held her tongue as she considered what she’d say. She wondered if it was worth keeping her true intentions to herself, whether it was at all worth trying to hide the truth or not when she was likely about to be kicked out of the city anyway. At least if she was gone and she told the truth then somebody else could maybe take up research, right?
At the end of the day a cure was the most important thing in this world, nothing else mattered. Even if it meant sacrificing herself and the research she’d done it’d be worth it to save the masses, right?
“I was hoping to find a cure somehow,” Hannah said, not wanting to completely reveal how she’d hoped to accomplish that until she knew for certain what would be happening to her as a result of this woman finding the room. “This,” she gestured to the carnage that covered almost the entirety of the room, “is all a part of that attempt.”
