what am I supposed to do with this information
Those who quote the bible to condemn gays, among other things, should not pick and choose what they want to listen to or ignore.
“We can learn to ignore the bullshit in the Bible about gay people the same way we’ve learned to ignore the bullshit in the Bible about: clams, farming, menstruation, fabric, adultery, masturbation, divorce, and slavery. Sam Harris in his book ‘Letters to a Christian Nation’ points out that the Bible got slavery wrong, “the easiest moral question humanity has ever faced”. And my point is, you know, if the Bible got “the easiest moral question humanity has ever faced” wrong, slavery, what are the odds that it got something as complicated as human sexuality wrong? I would put them at about 100 thousand percent.”
