A Painting For Amanda...

She has wanted a particular painting at PIER 1 for a while now.

I told her I could make one similar but cheaper and better.

I figured this past weekend would be a good time to make my words a reality.

So I found a large acrylic on canvas painting of a sailboat from the thrift store...

bought it for $20...

broke off some of the old plaster that shaped waves and sails...

added more plaster for a more uniform texture...

bought a few paints...

Rendered a new cooler tree... and viola!

Several hours later... my beloved now has a custom original painting without forking over several hundred bucks!
