A pair of blood red eyes narrowed at the Shinsengumi as they passed through the streets. A boy with long light blue hair in a braid, hid amongst the shadows as he tried to conceal himself. The last thing he wanted was to be confused for one of those fury’s. They were rather bothersome and infuriating to the point he could grind his teeth. It often made it hard for him to go and spy on his sister. Once he’d thought he’d lost the majority of them, he took off toward the compound in a hurry. His mother hadn’t even known of his disappearance and had she, he might even be in trouble from her own hands! Getting distracted from his train of thought the other found himself slamming into someone. “D-Damn it…!” Quickly he gained his composure and stared at the one he’d bumped into.

He was just about to leave the compound since it was his turn to make dinner, he had to go buy what he needed. Sanosuke blinked as he felt someone run into him and looked down to who it was, a very confused look on his face. “You alright? What are you in such a big rush for?” He raised an eyebrow as he looked to the compound then back at him, eyes narrowing just slightly.

“ …Seriously, this is the best way the lot of you could find to spend your free time?!” Hijikata’s eyes narrowed in on Souji, The Baka Trio and Ryunosuke. “I find it unbelievable that you couldn’t find something more appropriate to do.” harada-and-ibuki first-division-captain-souji shinpachi-nagakura

“W-well, what can I say…uh…you know me, I like to show off…” He chuckled softly yet nervously before he looked to Sano, giving a nod he ran!

“I was just giving Yin a little gift.” Sanosuke smirks at Shinpachi`s nod, “But I couldn`t agree more, my friend. You better hurry up if you don`t want to be left to the commander, Ryunosuke.” He pats Ryunosuke on the head and bolts after Shinpachi.

Ryunosuke blinks before realizing what he meant as he sees the commanders eyes narrow, “Hey! I`m not staying behind!” He runs after the two.

Ayame happily gave his hand a gentle squeeze once he’d taken ahold of it. “So, I know you don’t like sweet things, But how about some Yakitori or Takoyaki?” The girl grinned widely at him. “Mh, I don’t want to lose you in this crowd either. I’m pretty nervous to be out like this to say the truth…” He cheeks again painted over in pink briefly. “Ooh, ooh, then we should go place our wishes!”

His smile widened at the squeeze and he gave her`s a gentle squeeze back, “Hm...Takoyaki sounds good. How about we get that. Then yeah, we can go make our wishes.” He blinked and blushed lightly, “Guess it`s my turn to protect you then. I won`t let anything happen to you, Aya.”

Well that hadn’t been something she expected Ryunosuke to do! The entirety of her face turned a bright red as she stared at him a moment in shock. “Th-thanks…” The girls eyes stayed focused on his, but she found herself pretty speechless for once. When had her Ryuki grown so bold? It really amazed her how just a few months and events could change his outlook on things. Feeling her heart as it raced, she gripped her kimono a little. “So uh… c’mon! Let’s go get some of the snacks before they’re gone, hm?”

He was just as shocked that he was actually able to do that, he lightly scratched at his cheek. His blush just as bright as her`s at the moment, “H-huh? Yeah, w-we should go get some.” He slowly moves his hand to try and take her`s. “I-I don`t want to lose you in the crowd.” He gave her a small smile.

“Y-You really think so?” Ayame was really happy once he’d recognized her. The compliments weren’t something she was used to getting. After all, it’d been a long time since she’d been able to really dress up nice like this. “Th-thank you! S-so the make-up looks good..? I mean, I haven’t really dressed up in..a long…time. I didn’t know if I over did it or not.” Her cheeks deepened in their shade of red.

“O-Of course I think so.” He blinked as she started worrying about if the make-up looked good, remembering something he saw Sanosuke do to Yin before. He lightly grabbed her shoulders and softly kissed her to stop her from talking, his face turning a darker shade of red. “I-it`s fine...you look perfect.”

Ayame had started to walk around a little now, nearing the festival when her eyes came upon Ryunosuke. A warm smile and she started making her way over to the other. A gentle red hue tinted her cheeks as she stepped closer. “H-hello Ryuki, would you like to join me at the festival?” The girl shyly hid behind the sleeves of her kimono. This would be the first time he’d ever see her dressed up like this.

He blinked as he turned to face her, only one person called him Ryuki. He stared slightly confused for a moment before his face quickly turned a bright shade of red, “A-Aya? Is that...wow...y-you look...beautiful.” He swallowed, he had never seen her in a kimono before.

Festival Time - Open.

Ayame stepped out of the compound and onto the streets of the festival, amethyst eyes widening in excitement that there was finally a festival to enjoy. Not to mention it allowed her to dawn a kimono of all things. The girl softly smiled at her ability to dress up for once. Not that it was often she found company to appreciate it. “Alright, to the festival I go!”

Ryunosuke looks around as he starts heading to the festival, waving to his friend as he did. He was very glad that he could get out for a bit. His shop had gotten very crowded the last few days. So this was a nice break from that at least far a little while.

“No no, the question is, May I help you! I’m Tachi Okita-Akiyama. What’s your name….? I’ve never seen you around here before!” The green eyed boys smile only grew as he heard her voice. “I ..like your Kimono! It’s really pretty!”

Arata blinked, "um, okay, I'd like the help. I'm Arata Himura-Ibuki, nice to meet you Tachi." He gives a slightly nervous smile, "Oh you haven't? Yeah, I usually stay inside and help my dad." a light blush covered his cheeks, "T-thank you. I like your eyes, they're a very nice shade of green."

Tachi continued to stare at the sky until the movement caught his green orbs. Slowly the look of boredom was replaced with curiosity. There was someone he hadn’t recognized. Only one thing to do, go find out who it is! Especially, since it was a girl! “Hey, you there!” Quickly the boy approached and grinned.

Arata jumped slightly, quickly getting his grip on the packages back as he turns to the voice. Amber eyes blinking at him as he smiles back, "Hello. Can I help you?" His voice already had a slightly higher pitch so he didn't have to disguise it much.

“Augh… I’m so bored..! Maybe there are some cats I could play with some where? Mh, it’d be great if there were some cute girls too..” Tachi mumbled the last bit under his breath. “I’ve finished all of my crappy chores..”

"I'm off, dad!" Arata waves as he heads out of the small shop with a few orders to deliver. Looking over the kimono he was wearing as well as adjusting the braid his long hair was now in, "...I hope no one can recognize me as a boy..." He whispers in hope that he was just as good as cross-dressing as his mother.

Finding herself closer to his body, she held on a little tighter. “Heh, I like the sound of that. It’d be nice to have you close anyway.. Even if it does work. It feels nice here in your arms. Safe..” Ayame offered a smile as she turned her gaze back to the futon.

“Hmm….or is it that you have work to do or sell…? If so, then please, don’t let me hinder you.”

“What? Oh, n-no I don`t have any work to do a-and even if I did you wouldn`t hinder me! I-I`d love to k-keep you close even if it does work!” He blushed as he gave a smile back at her and nuzzles the top of her head slightly, “I`ll go get you that tea and food then, alright?”

I’ve Got Your Back

“Ryuki..” Ayame sighed out loud as she tried to focus on him. “Mh…I-I’m cold, hungry, and thirsty actually.. The whole room is spinning, I think I lost a bit too much blood last night..” Closing her eyes she rested her head against the others chest. “I..I’m …” A twinge of pain struck the girl as her eyes narrowed. The frustration and anger at herself slowly coming back. “…too weak to get up. I tried but fell back down..” It was true though, he could probably feel her body trembling from being cold. Her complexion was even a bit paler than usual.

He frowned, very worried as he lightly rests his cheek on the top of her head. “I-I see, I`ll go get you some tea and make you something to eat. Hopefully that can warm you up some and if it`s not enough, I`ll try to share my warmth with you.” He held her close to him, “Don`t move then, until your strong enough. Just call me for anything you need.”
