we’re on the move!

i’ve tried so hard to keep this blog active because i love him. but unfortunately no matter how hard i try i just can’t do it. and my own sanity is starting to suffer. so! he’s moving to a whole new multi-muse with a couple other blogs that i run. we would love it if you joined us HERE. nothing is going to change. all the threads, all the relationships, EVERYTHING is going to remain the same. i’m just moving everything over there. if you do reply to threads please mention us there at the new blog so i won’t lose any threads. we’d love to see you there and we’d love to keep writing with you!

“Perhaps, though you should know that you’re far better company than the angels.”  Michael didn’t feel the need to impress him, okay – that was a lie, but it was for entirely different reasons. He cared about this warlock and he was worried that he was just putting him in danger, it wouldn’t be the first time that he got someone killed (or that he blamed himself for). But he was determined that he wouldn’t make the same mistake and other than Lucifer, he hoped none of the others were stupid enough to take him on.

“Fine, but it’s been quite a few decades since I had the chance to smite anyone. I’ll behave, I promise.” Michael gave his shoulder a gentle squeeze before poking head out the door and narrowing his eyes.  He couldn’t feel anything, so whoever it was had been quick or they’d been able to sense him, or…Michael was just being paranoid.  He’d managed that quite well since he’d finally regained his memories. “I think we’re safe, Magnus, though perhaps I should stick close by you just in case?” He was only half teasing, he wouldn’t leave Magnus alone with danger.

"I wouldn't know. The angels tend not to spend time with downworlders." They didn't even want to spend time with the children that came from their wish. Or at least that's what he'd been told by those from the Institute. Either way, he was enjoying the time that Michael was spending there in his loft. Normally, he preferred the company of his cats and a strong drink. But this one had changed something and he was enjoying the fact they could sit and talk. Then again Magnus knew it might've had something to do with the fact he looked like Alexander. The head of the New York Institute had caught his eye but nothing had come from it. And nothing probably would given the fact the boy had a thing for his parabatai. Either way, this was a nice distraction and one he'd needed.

Chuckling, he was relieved that the other had agreed not to smite anyone. While it would be entertaining for them both, he didn't want to deal with the Clave. Something told him that they wouldn't be amused to deal with an angel who thought it would be fun to smite someone. At least he had someone to make certain he hadn't been seeing things. He thought that he'd heard a knock on the door and when he went to look nothing was there. And having the other look, Magnus knew that if nothing was there then both of them were seeing or hearing things. "Are you certain?" He didn't like the idea of something being there but just out of sight. At least he had magic just in case something decided to attack them. "There's no need for you to stay unless you'd like to. I've got magic to keep this place safe."

4. Glitter & Gold Though Magnus couldn’t resist color-coordinating his hair with his outfit and adding shimmering gold eyeliner to match, it’s still his most casual and relaxed look yet, suggesting he may have been hoping to put Alec at ease for their first date.

  “I kind of think it does? I mean, I didn’t know where or what,” Liam stops, a little out of breath. Trying to find someone he was told to find and help him was fine if they gave you directions. He had been given none and he’s still grasping the whole warlock fact. “No one told me how to find you.” He corrects, an almost proud smile that he managed that, at least, on his own.

   "It’s kind of hard to explain…it’s, I’m still trying to grasp that people say you use magic? That’s a thing?“ He scrubs a hand over his face, exhaling roughly and taking in the other’s scent. "Where I’m from that doesn’t exist, I think? I haven’t met any that do and werewolves don’t turn into wolves like the one that attacked me before telling me to find you.” Outside of a rare number, werewolves didn’t change like that. 

"Well, maybe in this instance luck played a small part in this," he told the other, curious still as to what he's doing there. Everyone in he downworld knew that they could come to him for help and while he hadn't seen this one before that didn't mean much. There were plenty of downworlders in the city and it was possible this one came from another part of the city or from another part of the country. It never mattered to him. Magnus was determined to help them no matter what. Though, his curiosity would always get the better of him. "Though, there are plenty in the city who would point you in my direction should you ask."

Chuckling, he should've known the topic of magic would come up. Even though all of those in the city knew he was a warlock, there were still some that were surprised at knowing just what it was he could do. "I'm a warlock so magic is a part of who I am," he explained, wondering if maybe he shouldn't offer the other a drink. Listening to him talk, he was actually surprised to find that wolves where he was from didn't transform. All the ones he'd met do and it had him wondering just what sort of wolves they were. "Here in the city the local pack transforms into wolves," Magnus explained, motioning for him to come towards his desk. "But if you were attacked by one and you're still mundane it's possible you will turn into one. There's not much I can do for that." If this one was a different sort of wolf? That would be quite a challenge.

How dramatic.   Not that she expected anything else.   His words draw a sigh out of her,  accompanied by a roll of her eyes.   It brings emotion out of Natasha,  however what it doesn’t do is persuade her to untie him just yet.   He’s a warlock,  after all,  and an old one from what she’d heard.   Maybe he needs another moment to come to his senses before she’s sure that it’s safe to set him free without a threat of getting blown up right after she does that.     “You really think i would stand here chatting with you if i was the one to kidnap you?”     Let him mull that one over,  let him understand that she’s not the enemy.   Not anymore.   A disgraced shadowhunter?   Maybe.   But not an enemy still.   Well,  not one of his.     “Come on,  mister Bane,  i thought you were just a touch smarter than that.   But I’ll give you a benefit of the doubt,  whatever they used to knock you out might need some time to recover from.”     She offers him a monologue,  sometimes interrupted by the howls of wind or horns ringing in the distance.     “And i might just give you that time to recover while still bound.   For my own benefit,  of course.”

"It wouldn't be the first time someone did something like that." She may have had a point; only an idiot would actually stick around long enough to interrogate their hostage. And she didn't seem like the sort who would drug him and then stick around long enough for the drugs to work their way out of his system. "Though, you don't strike me as the sort who would kidnap someone and then wait to interrogate him," he added, ignoring the slight pain that was starting to form behind his eyes. Magnus could tell that the drugs that they used on him would leave quite the mark and once he was less in pain he would use his own magic to find out if there was any magical component to it. If there was he might be able to use that and track them down. If not? He'd figure it out another time. "And yes I can tell that it isn't the normal sort of thing that people would use," he added, struggling to see if his restraints were loose. Now that they had that out of the way he needed to figure out who she was and why she was there with him. "So if you're not the one who took me then who are you? Someone from the Clave? Or someone from the Circle?"

      ‘ well… it’s not…. like we can’t come back if something comes up, ’ Alec says, thinking it through. Jace & Clary could head the Institute in his absence. Isabelle was there as the weapons master, Underhill & Jonathan split duty as heads of security. really, this was as good a time as any with so many capable people here. he needs a break, too - the two of them have barely gotten any time together, & he honestly misses it. so that decides that. it wasn’t like it was forever, just a few weeks. he’ll have to run it by everyone but he can’t think of a reason why they couldn’t all pull this off. he offers the other a smile & finally nods. ‘ I have to talk to the others. Clary and Jace, mostly. Or Jonathan - between the three of them, I know the Institute will run smoothly, and with Underhill and Izzy supporting them… I think it’ll be fine. ’ Japan says amazing - they’d been there once on a date. the rest… he likes this, likes every part of this. ‘ if you want to throw together a plan, I trust you. I’ll start making notes for the others and I’ll talk to them after patrol tonight. ’

"we can, but i'd rather not rush through our adventures because your parabatai or jonathan couldn't handle a minor emergency at the institute." he was trying hard not to sound a bit disappointed. while he knew alexander was a workaholic he also knew the other needed time away from the institute and time that didn't involve constantly dealing with emergencies. he'd hoped hat this would be it and it would give them a chance to enjoy some time together. sighing, magnus knew he couldn't complain. he knew what he was getting himself into by dating alexander and sometimes it would mean having to rush back when trouble came calling. "i trust that they will all keep the institute in one piece. and i'll make certain that our travels will take us close to institutes just in case they really need to get in touch with you," he added, offering the other a smile. luckily japan had an institute close to where they were going though the south pacific would be where they were truly isolated. and if he were honest with himself it was one of the places he was looking forward to. isolated was what they needed. he just had to hope that alexander would appreciate that and not worry about whether or not the institute would need him. "it won't take me long to put together a plan. all our reservations are done so all we need to do is show up. do you want me to bring you some dinner before patrols?"

just a friendly reminder that i’m not on tumblr over the weekends. which means no replies, no checking out new followers, no responding to asks. it’s one of the few times where i can just enjoy having a life outside of this site. i’ll definitely be lurking on discord (mutuals should hit me up if we haven’t exchanged it already) as i’ll be working on stuff in photoshop and in all honesty it’s the easiest way to find me when i’m not on tumblr. hell, it’s the easiest way to find me when i am on tumblr. but i’ll be away from tumblr this weekend so hopefully everyone has a good one and we’ll see you next week! <33

alec was always amazed with the sheer amount of knowledge magnus possessed. whether it was world travel and the many different cultures they experienced when they jumped from portal to portal doing things that alec never imaged doing before in his life, or if it was something as mundane and simple as cooking up a delicious meal. well, simple wasn’t quite the right term for it when alec clearly couldn’t put out a decent tasting meal to save his life. still, he wished there was a way to show his own merit. maybe wasn’t cultured like magnus, maybe he didn’t know how to cook, or how to pleasure a partner in the most intense way. but he knew how to love. he knew how to be faithful and loyal. he hoped that was enough. he hoped magnus could see that in him. because sometimes he wondered what exactly it was that magnus did see in him, to keep him around.

“well…isn’t taste subjective though? how do i know what a good palette is when my palette is probably different than everyone else’s?” he questioned and looked into the pot as magnus stirred it, taking a moment to appreciate the aroma that rose from it, now that magnus had taken the reigns and turned it into something edible. even alec had surprised himself with the kiss, and he was more than happy to oblige with magnus leaned back in, their foreheads resting together as he smiled, “i know.” he admitted and lifted a hand to cup magnus’ cheek, mirroring his boyfriend’s motions, “i just wanted an excuse to kiss you because you’re so handsome when you’re in the kitchen.”

"it is subjective, but that doesn't mean i can't introduce you to new and different things." if they all had a similar palette the world would be a very boring place. luckily they all had something different and he was enjoying the thoughts of actually introducing alexander to all the different dishes that could be had. unfortunately, he'd spent enough time at the institute to know just what they were serving to them and if that was all he'd ever been given in his life he definitely needed to have it all expanded. and who better than the high warlock of brooklyn. this meal he was certain would be the first of many where he made things from all over the world. he wasn't expecting alexander to actually like each and every one. the whole point was to experiment, to taste and try and figure out just what it was he did and didn't like. once he knew that then they could start crafting meals around it. in all honesty, he was just surprised that alexander was willing to go along with it. th other had been a bit of a tough difficult man to crack and now — now he had the man in his kitchen and willing to experiment with food.

the aroma from the pot was definitely starting to make his stomach growl. he knew it still had a bit to go but the longer it cooked the better off it would taste and the more he hoped alexander would enjoy it. this was a bit of a risk but he'd lived far too much of his life playing things safe and if anyone was going to be taking the risk it would be him. plus, he knew that if alec saw him taking the risk he might take more than a few of his own. or at least that's what he was hoping. time would tell with this. the kiss took him by surprise and allowing alexander to distract him for a few more moments, he casually snaked an arm around his waist. "you don't need an excuse," he teased, allowing the smirk on his face to grow. if anything, he wouldn't mind if alexander did that more often. but that was something he'd allow the other to do at his own pace. pushing him might push him away and they'd already been through enough as it was. "though should i be concerned you'll end up kissing me more often when we're in the kitchen?"
