WEEK-13
Week 13 ā Final Update: Trend Shells
Itās honestly crazy to say this, but this is the final week of my Trend Shells journey. What started as just an idea has now turned into something real, and this week made me reflect on everything.
Whatās working: By the end, my business became more stable. Sales were more consistent, especially for the designs customers liked the most. Social media, especially Instagram, helped bring attention to my products. Also, fixing the shipping problem earlier made a huge difference in customer satisfaction and overall confidence in the business.
Whatās not working: Even in the final week, not everything was perfect. Some posts still didnāt perform well, and engagement was sometimes unpredictable. Inventory management is still something I would improve in the future to avoid missing sales opportunities.
How the project is coming along: I feel proud of how far this project has come. In the beginning, it felt confusing and stressful, but now it feels like I actually built and managed a small business. This week feels more like a conclusion and reflection rather than just progress.
What Iām learning about running a business: Iāve learned that running a business requires consistency, patience, and problem-solving. Itās not just about the productāitās about marketing, customer experience, and handling challenges quickly. Every small decision matters.
What Iām learning about myself: This journey showed me that I can handle responsibility and challenges better than I expected. I became more patient, more confident, and more focused. I also learned that I donāt give up easily, even when things get difficult.
Final thoughts: Trend Shells started as a simple phone case idea, but it turned into a valuable experience. Even though this project is ending, the lessons Iāve learned will stay with me. This is not just the endāit feels like the beginning of something bigger.
WEEK-12
Trend Shells š±
Itās kind of crazy to realize thereās only one week left after this. This week felt like a turning point.
Whatās working: Sales are becoming more consistent, especially with the designs people clearly like the most. Social media is helping, and Iām getting better at posting content that actually connects. The biggest win this weekāshipping is finally running smoothly, which makes everything feel more professional and less stressful.
Whatās not working: Some posts still donāt get much attention, and Iām still figuring out what really works every time. Inventory management is also something I need to stay on top of so I donāt miss out on sales.
How the project is coming along: With only one week left, it finally feels real. In the beginning, this was just an idea, but now it actually feels like a small business I built step by step. Thereās still pressure to finish strong, but I feel more confident than before.
What Iām learning about running a business: Iāve learned that consistency and problem-solving matter more than perfection. Fixing issues like shipping and improving marketing makes a big difference. Itās about learning and adjusting every week.
What Iām learning about myself: Iāve learned that I donāt give up easily. Even when things werenāt going right, I kept working on it. This experience has made me more patient, responsible, and confident.
Final thoughts: With just one week left, I want to finish strong. Trend Shells started as a simple idea, but now it feels like something realāand thatās the best part of this whole journey.
WEEK -11
Hereās a honest update on how things are going:
Whatās working: Sales are increasing, and the most popular phone case designs are selling really well.
Whatās not working: There are some inventory problems, and shipping is slower than expected.
SOLUTION:- But I'm doing door to door delivery by my car as I am amazon delivery driver so i have experience to do deliveries this would increased by sale and vanished the shipping problems.
How the project is going: Overall, I feel positive, but there is still a lot of work left to do.
What Iām learning about business: Managing costs and marketing are very important for success.
What Iām learning about myself: Iāve realized that I am more resilient and determined than I thought.
Final thought: Building a business is challenging, but Iām excited to keep going and see where it leads.
I WILL POST VLOG IN NEXT THREADS SOON.

Iām learning that I enjoy problem-solving and coming up with creative ways to promote my products.

I also realize that I need to improve my time management skills to balance multiple responsibilities effectively.

WEEK 6
This week focuses on understanding the financial side of running my small business, TrendShells. Money management is as important as selling the product, because even if I sell many phone cases, the business wonāt succeed without proper financial tracking and planning.
1. Explaining Financial Performance
Financial performance shows how well a business is doing in terms of money earned and spent. For TrendShells, it includes:
Revenue (Sales): Money earned from selling phone cases. For example, selling 20 cases at $15 each would give $300 revenue.
Expenses: Money spent on buying plain cases, packaging, stickers, and marketing.
Profit: Revenue minus expenses. This shows whether the business is earning money or losing it.
Why it matters: Tracking financial performance helps me understand if TrendShells is growing, which products sell best, and where I might need to reduce costs.
2. Understanding How to Track Finances
Tracking finances means keeping a record of all money coming in and going out.
How I do it for TrendShells:
Record every sale (cash or online payment).
Keep a list of every expense: cost of cases, packaging, ads.
Use a simple Excel or Google Sheet for monthly tracking.
Check monthly to see net profit and plan for improvements.
Benefits:
Helps avoid overspending.
Shows how profitable the business is.
Makes future planning and budgeting easier.
3. Sourcing and Securing Funding
Funding is the money needed to start or grow a business. For TrendShells: Sources of funding I can use:
Personal savings (the easiest for a small student business)
Family or friends who are willing to support
Small student loans or microloans (if needed)
How to secure funding:
Prepare a simple plan showing how the money will be used (buying cases, marketing, packaging).
Show potential profit so lenders or supporters know their investment is safe.
Keep records of spending to build trust.
4. Preparing a Simple Cash Flow Projection
A cash flow projection predicts money coming in and going out over a period (month by month). This helps plan for expenses and ensures the business does not run out of money.
Example ā TrendShells 3-Month Cash Flow Projection
Month 1
Sales Revenue: $200
Cost of Goods Sold: $100
Marketing & Other Expenses: $30
Net Cash Flow: $70
Month 2
Sales Revenue: $300
Cost of Goods Sold: $120
Marketing & Other Expenses: $40
Net Cash Flow: $140
Month 3
Sales Revenue: $400
Cost of Goods Sold: $150
Marketing & Other Expenses: $50
Net Cash Flow: $200
Explanation:
Sales Revenue: Money earned from phone case sales
Cost of Goods Sold (COGS): Buying blank phone cases, stickers, and packaging
Marketing & Other Expenses: Instagram ads, small delivery costs, extra materials
Net Cash Flow: Profit after all expenses
What this shows:
TrendShells is gradually increasing sales and profit each month.
Helps plan for future growth and avoid running out of money.
Overall Summary
Understanding finances is crucial for running TrendShells successfully. By tracking financial performance, managing cash flow, planning funding, and monitoring expenses, I can ensure the business stays profitable and sustainable. This week taught me the importance of planning and record-keeping, which are key skills for any entrepreneur.
WEEK 3
1. Structure and Requirements of a Business Pitch A business pitch is a short explanation of your business idea. It should be clear, simple, and interesting so others can understand it quickly. A good pitch includes your business idea, what product or service you are offering, who your target customers are, and what makes your business different from others. It should also explain how you will sell your product and why people will buy it. The goal is to convince others that your business idea is good and has potential.
2. Defining Market Potential Market potential means how many people might be interested in buying your product or service. It helps you understand if your business idea can be successful. To define market potential, you look at how many customers need your product, how often they might buy it, and if the demand is high or low. A high market potential means more chances to earn profit.
3. Conducting Market Research Market research means collecting information about your customers and market. This can be done by asking questions, doing surveys, checking online trends, or observing what people like. It helps you understand customer preferences, prices they are willing to pay, and what designs or products are popular. This information helps you make better business decisions.
4. Identifying an Appropriate Location Business location means where you will sell your product or service. It can be a physical place (like a shop) or online (like Instagram or a website). A good location should be convenient for customers, affordable, and suitable for your business type. For small businesses, online platforms are often the best option because they save cost and reach more customers.
5. Competition (Direct and Indirect) Competition means other businesses that sell similar or related products.
Direct competition: Businesses selling the same product (e.g., other phone case sellers)
Indirect competition: Businesses selling different products that satisfy the same need (e.g., mobile shops or online stores) Understanding competition helps you improve your product and stand out in the market.
6. Estimating Sales and Profitability Estimating sales means predicting how many products you will sell in a certain time. Profitability means how much profit you will make after subtracting costs. You calculate profit by taking your selling price and subtracting the cost of making or buying the product. This helps you understand if your business will make money or not.
7. Identifying Potential Risks Risks are problems that might affect your business. These can include low sales, high competition, product issues, or customer dissatisfaction. Identifying risks early helps you prepare solutions and reduce losses. It is important to always have a backup plan in case something goes wrong.
Overall: These concepts help in planning and running a business in a smart and organized way.
