ART THEFT BY DREAME APP

Instances like this are why we as artists dislike and discourage reposting.

I wasn’t going to make a post about this ever, but this has been going on for too long now.

Quite a few of the artists in the Dramione fandom have been targeted by this Dreame App by using unsolicited artworks to advertise their shitty little app. Upon doing my own research, I’ve come to the realisation that this particular issue has been going on for a few years now with other independent artists from all fandoms.

It’s frustrating to see that our work is being used for a pay-per-chapter app designed to swindle people out of their money to read poorly written fiction, without even asking the artist for permission. I’m not sure on how they deal with their marketing and advertising, but this is blatant straight up THEFT.

If you happen to come across any of their advertisements (whether it be on Facebook, tumblr, Instagram etc), PLEASE COPY THE LINK TO THE ADVERTISEMENT and send it over to the original artist with a screenshot of the advert. If you don’t know who the artist is, do an reverse google image search. I guarantee you’ll be able to find them that way, even when Dreame have photoshopped the artist’s watermark (which is apparently standard procedure 😠). If you can report it to the domain, please do so!

Please please please. If you value seeing your favourite artists work and want them to continue making art for your fandoms, if you don’t want your favourite artists to disappear out of fear, if you don’t like the idea of these artists being blatantly stolen from, please help us! There’s only so much we can do when things like this happen. It’s frustrating, and downright demeaning. Any kind of help goes a long way🥺

Dreame uses my artwork to advertise their app without my consent. My signature was removed and there’s no credit to be seen. I immediately emailed them to have this ad taken down. They complied. But, now I understand how meaningless their words are. This is sadly @jaxx-in-a-box ‘s second time dealing with their bullshit. Which means that Dreame’s reply to our complaints is no more than damage control.

I have no idea how they’re not banned yet from every platforms. Help us by reporting their ad and app (on playstore) or anywhere with the option to report.

If you encounter their ads, notify the artists by giving us the link. If you don’t recognize the artwork, you can reverse image search (this website is easier to use if you’re on mobile).

We appreciate all the help we can get 😔💕😭
