A big part of being a quadruped is being able to just lie down anytime. Waiting? Loaf time. Talking to someone shorter than you? Loaf time. Falling asleep in the sun? Loaf time. Bored? Loaf it up till something interesting happens. Leg hurt? Loaf time.
You wish you were me
I can do it on rocks also
having a headache while hydrated is so unfair. you were supposed to protect me.
I've gotten comments on my writing in the past that I write kids too smart, too aware, too well-spoken, but more and more I realize the cardboard fucking cutout of a non-human entity the ppl around me have replaced their knowledge of their own childhood and childhood friends with and I opt not to take their writing advice.
Can you no longer access your own memories? Do you remember the voracious reader you once were? Do you remember knowing, very easily, when an author was talking down to you? Do you remember graduating children's fiction early and moving onto more mature works? Because you had a mind you were developing rapidly through exposure to new ideas? Like every human being ever born?
i think it's funny when a character is almost exclusively referred to by their last name by other people and this carries over into their internal monologue when someone writes from their pov. not even on a first name basis with herself
i think this captures the defining pathology of the collective social media psyche right now. we are in the thrall of people who are wantonly cruel but who also demand to be coddled at all times in every way
these ones
oh we can get even more specific than just a list of billionaires:
here are all of the scum who control oil, coal, and natural gas
here are the ones who run the factories
and here are the ones who extract the raw resources that the others need to make it all work

closing statement from an article about being intersex & the possible connection of gender expression and sexuality in intersex individuals, published in The Gay Liberator, 1970s
[ID: a picture of an article that says, “Hopefully gay liberation will continue to raise confusing issues until the world at large becomes so confused and befuddled about sex and gender and all that people can finally stop worrying if "it's a boy or a girl" and get around to being free to be and to love people.” /end ID]
Fascinating how what's considered feminine and what's considered masculine can change over time. The rebranding of being a horse girl into being a stereotypical feminine girly trait needs to be studied.
Look at classic children's novels. As recently as the 50s and early 60s, being obsessed with horses as a girl was depicted as strange and tomboyish, and the very concept of being obsessed with horses from early childhood and loving toy horses and desperately wanting your own horse being a "little girl thing" and not a "little boy thing" would send someone from the 1800s and earlier into a coma.
There's maybe a point to be made here somewhere about how when keeping and riding horses stopped being necessary to the functioning of society and became a more "frivolous" thing, it was rapidly rebranded as silly and girly and for women, but what do I know.

the thing they dont tell you about learning to "trust the process" is that you forget and relearn it every single time you make a new piece of art. unfortunately there is no cure either
