Happy Fri-yayyy! 🎉 Love, Moana the Parkour Princess 💪 I looove how physically strong & flexible Moana is (exhibit a: that scene where she escapes Maui's statue cave?!), so even though no one was going to be able to see the details beneath my Shiny shells it was really important to me to design this costume to be compatible with athletic feats, like scaling these McCormick Place posts. This is all held together by a series of simple, practical knots and a single safety pin. It felt great to be able to use so many materials from the motherland (Pilipinas), from the shimmery abalone shell detailing on the top to the swishy layers of raffia palm. 🌴

Excited to report that Canyon will be a part of this Saturday’s St. Patrick’s Day parade in Chicago! 

Less excited that the forecast for Saturday is currently Partly Cloudy with a high of 28°F... though that’s 1° higher than it was a few days ago, praying it’ll turn out to be even warmer somehow! Gotta hunt down some good thermals to wear under my dress tomorrow.
