What if Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader were two Different People? Part 3
Description: welcome to Part 3 of What if Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader were two Different People? In the last part, we finally introduced the Skywalker brothers to each other, and followed their very different paths as Jedi Padawans. At the end of Part 2 Jacen Skywalker was the Padawan of Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Anakin Skywalker was Knighted as a Jedi Knight. In this part we will explore how these changes effect Attack of the Clones. There are two places where the film could change the most. The first involves the protection of Senator Padme Amidala. Option 1 would see Anakin already assigned to protect her when the film begins, so he would be on the ship with her. Option 2 would see the film start the same as it did, and Anakin would be assigned to protect her after the explosion as his first solo assignment. For this we will go with Option 2. The second major change involves the investigation and directly impacts the battle of Geonosis. Option 1 would see Obi-Wan go to Kamino by himself as he initially did, and when captured on Geonosis, his apprentice Jacen Skywalker would go rescue him, meaning Anakin and Padme would not be involved on Geonosis. Option 2 would see Obi-Wan and Jacen investigate together, and Padme would convince Anakin to go rescue them. For this point we'll go with Option 1.
If you have not read the first two parts, I highly recommend you read those before reading this one. Since the film starts the same way, we will start in the Chancellor's office after the explosion.

The Jedi are still having the same conversation with Palpatine about the growing Separatist threat when Senator Amidala enters. The conversation between the Jedi, Senator Amidala, and Chancellor Palpatine goes for the most part the same. The change comes when Chancellor Palpatine says, "Master Jedi, might I recommend that the Senator be placed under your grace's protection?" "Thank you, Chancellor, but I do not believe that," "the situation is all that serious? Oh, but I do," Palpatine finishes. "What if it was someone you're more familiar with like, Master Kenobi?" Palpatine asked. "While that is certainly possible since he and his padawan just returned, Anakin is a Jedi Knight now and is fully capable of taking on this task," Mace suggests. It should be noted that Palpatine doesn't really care which Skywalker brother is involved with this, but he feels that Jacen would be easier to manipulate than Anakin, which is why he still recommends Kenobi. "Very well Master Jedi. Please, do it for me my Lady, the thought of losing you is unbearable," Palpatine said. "Alright," Padme agreed. "I will have Anakin report to you immediately," Mace said.
On his way to Senator Amidala's apartment, he meets Obi-Wan and Jacen while leaving the Jedi Temple. "Anakin, it's been a while," Obi-Wan comments. "I would be happy to stick around and chat, but I have just been assigned to protect Senator Amidala. We can catch up another time," Anakin said. Before Obi-Wan or Jacen could say anything more he hopped into a speeder and sped off toward the Senate apartments.
Jar Jar greets Anakin the same way he greeted Obi-Wan in the original timeline and presents him to Padme the same way. "Ani," Padme said a bit surprised at how much he'd grown. "My goodness you've grown," she continued. "It's a pleasure to see you again My Lady," Anakin responded, trying to hide his feelings. "It's been far too long, but I think your presence here is unnecessary. I don't need more security, I need answers. I want to know who's trying to kill me," Padme said. "I wish I could help you find out Padme, but my orders were clear. I'm simply here to protect you, not start an investigation. I must do what the Council has instructed," Anakin said. "I suppose a solution could present itself. In the meantime, if you'll excuse me, I will retire," Padme said.
Obi-Wan and Jacen later catch up with Anakin. “I just wanted to congratulate you on passing your Jedi Trials, Anakin it’s a big accomplishment,” Obi-Wan commended. “Thank You, that means a lot,” Anakin replied. "Wait, you’re a Jedi Knight already?” Jacen asked jealously. “Be mindful of your thoughts Jacen, they betray you,” Obi-Wan reminded him. “Yes, Master,” Jacen replied. Obi-Wan turned back to Anakin, “you look tired,” he pointed out. “I don’t sleep well anymore,” Anakin admitted. “Is it because of your mother?” Obi-Wan asked. Anakin nodded. “Lately I’ve been seeing her in my dreams, terrible dreams,” Anakin said. “You’re having nightmares about our mother? Why don’t you go help her?” Jacen asked. “I have a duty to protect Senator Amidala, I can’t just leave,” Anakin explained.
At that moment Anakin sensed something, and before anyone could say anything else he was racing off to Padme’s bedroom. Obi-Wan and Jacen were right behind him, as Anakin ignited his green blade and sliced two kohons. A moment later Obi-Wan leaped out the window and grabbed onto the probe droid. “Stay here and protect your Senator, I’ll go help Obi-Wan,” Jacen said and was gone. “Are you alright?” Anakin asked her. Padme nodded and Anakin waited until he heard from Obi-Wan or Jacen.
The chase ends with the same result. Jacen saves Obi-Wan and then they try to chase down the assassin. Jacen leaps onto the assassin’s speeder, loses his lightsaber, which Obi-Wan catches, and lands on the ground. They manage to apprehend the suspect only for her to be killed before she can reveal who she works for. They are left with only the toxic dart clue to work with.
The briefing of the attempt also goes the same, for the most part. Obi-Wan and Jacen are assigned to investigate the assassination attempt, and Anakin is assigned to escort Padme to Naboo. Anakin reminds Mace that it will be difficult to convince the Senator to leave and is told to talk to Chancellor Palpatine.
Anakin’s conversation with Palpatine goes very different. After telling Anakin he will talk to her, Palpatine says, "You are the most gifted Jedi I’ve had the privilege of knowing. I see you becoming the greatest of all the Jedi Anakin, even more powerful than Master Yoda,” Palpatine finishes. “I’m not becoming a Jedi for the Power your excellency, I’m becoming a Jedi to help people,” Anakin responded not giving into the hype.
While Anakin is in Palpatine's office, Obi-Wan brings concerns to Master Yoda and Mace Windu about his own apprentice Jacen Skywalker. "I'm very concerned about my Padawan. He seems to be showing increased signs of jealousy towards Anakin," Obi-Wan explained. "Jacen is powerful on his own, nonetheless this could be dangerous down the road," said Mace. "Talk to him we will," said Yoda. After this conversation, Jacen is called before the Jedi Council. "Concerned about you Obi-Wan is," Yoda began. "You must remember Jacen that Jedi grow at different speeds," Mace continued. "Yes, powerful you are, but much to learn you still have," Yoda finished. "I understand Masters," Jacen replied and bowed to them. Jacen and Obi-Wan then left the council chambers. "Jacen, I want you to go and meditate for a while, while I begin the investigation. I will contact you when I need your help," Obi-Wan said. "Yes, Master," Jacen responded and he headed off.
The conversation between Anakin and Padme changes significantly. Anakin is much more understanding in this timeline. The conversation starts the same, but Anakin has No complaints about the Jedi Council. At the point where Padme comments, "Anakin, you've grown up." Anakin responds, "only because of the teaching of Mace Windu. He really is the most powerful Jedi on the Council. He listened to my interests in the Force and allowed me to pursue them. I am truly grateful that he was my Master." The conversation ends the same however, with Padme telling Anakin not to grow up too fast, and to not look at her like that because it makes her feel uncomfortable.
Obi-Wan assures Padme that he hopes to have this matter resolved quickly and she'll be back in no time. It is Windu who gives Anakin his orders in this timeline. "Anakin, you are to stay on Naboo. I trust that you won't do anything without first consulting me," Mace orders. "I understand Master Windu," Anakin responds.
Obi-Wan takes the toxic dart to Dex's diner like he did in the film and receives the same information. This time he has extra help from Jacen. With the new information, Obi-Wan pulls out his Comlink and calls Jacen. "Jacen, meet me in the archives, I've just received new information and I could use your help trying to look it up," Obi-Wan said. "I'll be right there Master," Jacen responded.
It should be noted that Anakin and Padme's interactions remain relatively the same, even though Anakin is much wiser and more mature in this timeline. The one change is that Anakin doesn't argue with Padme about where they will stay. Being wiser, he is more than willing to take advantage of Naboo being her home world. When the Governor asks Anakin," What is your suggestion, Master Jedi?" Anakin responds saying, "I'm a newly appointed Jedi Knight, and this is Padme's home. She knows it better than I do, I think that decision should be up to her." Padme smiles at this and recommends the lake country. From here, the interactions between the pair are the same up until after Anakin's nightmare.
The real change is in the investigation. Even with the assistance of Jacen Skywalker, they are unsuccessful in locating the planet of Kamino. Obi-Wan decides this could be another teaching moment for Jacen and takes him to Master Yoda, who is teaching the younglings. "Gather round younglings, some visitors we have," Yoda announced. "Hello Master Obi-Wan, hello Jacen," the younglings all said in unison. "Hello," the two Jedi replied. "Of what help can I be," Yoda asked. "We are looking for a planet called Kamino, told to me by a friend. I trust him, but it does not appear in the data banks," Obi-Wan explained. "Lost a planet you have? How embarrassing, how embarrassing. Gather round younglings Gather round, and find Obi-Wan's missing planet we will," Yoda said. "Pay attention Jacen, knowing how to use the galactic holoimage is important," Obi-Wan explained. "Yes, Master," Jacen said and watched. "It ought to be here," Obi-Wan said showing the location he was told. "Gravity's pull remains, but the star and all the planets, disappeared they have. How can this be? A thought, anyone?" Yoda asked. One of the younglings spoke up, "because someone erased it from the data computer." Yoda chuckled, "truly wonderful the mind of a child is. The youngling is right. Go to the center of gravity's pull and find your planet you will," Yoda said. Obi-Wan asks who could've erased those files, to which Yoda replies he will meditate on this. Then Obi-Wan turns to Jacen, "you're not going to like this, but I'm going to need you to stay here." "I always go on missions with you Master, why not this time?" Jacen asked. "I need you here in case I need you to do more searches in the archives. I promise you will be the first person I contact with information," Obi-Wan said. Jacen nods and returns to his quarters, as Obi-Wan leaves off for Kamino.
While on Kamino Obi-Wan makes the same discovery of the Clone Army and investigates it. He learns about the cloning facility, how the clones are grown, and about the host being the Bounty Hunter Jango Fett.
Meanwhile, back on Naboo, Anakin has the same key nightmare about his mother. This time instead of just going to the balcony to meditate on it, he contacts Mace Windu using his Comlink. “Anakin, I sense a lot of distress, what is it?” asked Mace. “I had a nightmare about my mother Master Windu. I believe she is suffering, but I don’t want to abandon my mission,” Anakin explained. “You must trust your instincts on this Anakin. If you feel like you need to go, I won’t forbid it, just be careful,” said Mace. “I promise I won’t put Senator Amidala in danger, I will go myself and keep her on Naboo,” Anakin said and closed the link. Anakin then went out to the balcony to meditate as he had in the film. This time though, he was not meditating on his mother. Rather, he was meditating on how he was going to tell Padme that she couldn’t go with him to find his mother.
When Padme came out to the balcony Anakin was there. She turned to go, but he stopped her. “Don’t go,” he said. “I don’t want to disturb you,” said Padme. “Your presence is soothing,” Anakin replied. “You had another nightmare last night,” said Padme. “Yes,” Anakin said not denying it. “I saw my mother. I saw her as clearly as I see you now, she is suffering Padme. I will not disobey my mandate to protect you, Senator. I will go help her myself, and you are going to have to stay here, where you will be safe,” Anakin said. “No Anakin, I won’t let you go by yourself, let me come with you,” Padme said. “You don’t remember how dangerous Tatooine can be. I will not put you in danger,” Anakin said again. I am not afraid of danger Anakin. I am going with you,” Padme persisted. Anakin couldn’t argue with her anymore, so against his wishes he allowed her to join him.
After meeting with the Bounty Hunter Jango Fett, Obi-Wan contacted Jacen first as he said. "Jacen come in, this is Obi-Wan Kenobi." "I'm here Master, what do you have?" Asked Jacen. "I've discovered the Kaminoans are using a Bounty Hunter called Jango Fett to create a Clone Army. I need you to see if you can find anything on Jango Fett," Obi-Wan explained. "Yes, Master," Jacen responded. Obi-Wan then contacted the Jedi Council. He told them that he successfully made contact with the Prime Minister of Kamino, and about the Clone Army and Jango. The Jedi Council tells him that whoever placed the order did so without the approval of the Council, and to capture the Bounty Hunter for questioning. After a brief battle against Jango on the platform and failing to capture him, Obi-Wan places a tracking beacon on the ship, before taking off and following it.
Upon landing on Tatooine and visiting Watto's junk shop, Anakin learns that his mother was sold to a moisture farmer named Lars. He and Padme go there, where they discover that she was kidnapped by a tribe of Tusken Raiders. After hearing the story Anakin gets up to leave, to which Owen asked, "where are you going?" "To find my mother," Anakin said with more sorrow this time than anger. "Your mother's dead son, accept it," Cliegg told him. "I can still sense a glimmer of her presence, but even if she is dead, she still deserves to be brought home and buried by her family," Anakin said. They did not argue with this as Owen said, "take my speeder bike." As Anakin went out to leave Padme followed. "You're going to have to stay here. These are good people Padme, you'll be safe here," Anakin assured. "Anakin," she said holding him. She didn't argue this time. "I won't be long," Anakin promised and sped away into the night.
Obi-Wan follows Jango to Geonosis just as he did in the original film. They ensue in a dangerous space battle where Jango once again got away. Obi-Wan lands and discovers the Droid Army, the Separatists led by Count Dooku, and that Viceroy Nute Gunray was behind the assassination attempts of Senator Amidala. He still has trouble reaching Coruscant since it's so far away, and remembers that Anakin should be on Naboo, so tries to contact him. When he sees he's not on Naboo he finds his tracking signal on Tatooine and sends the message there.
Anakin finds his mother still alive in one of the tents at the camp. He frees her and talks to her for a moment. He pleads for her to stay with him, but she dies in his arms. This time however, he spares the Tuskan Raiders. He is not overtaken by anger because of his strong connection to the Force and his maturity. He simply takes his mother back to the Lars homestead, where she is buried.
R2-D2 then comes beeping in with the message from Obi-Wan Kenobi. Obi-Wan asks Anakin to retransmit the message to both Jacen and the Jedi Council. After the message ends Mace tells them they will deal with Dooku, and that Anakin is to stay where he is and protect the Senator at all costs. "I will go save my Master," Jacen said to them. "It would be better if you wait for us," Mace said. Jacen was having none of it, "wait for you to get army back up? Obi-Wan could be killed by then. At least I can go help him," Jacen urged. "Alright go, but be careful," Mace said. The transmission ended on all ends. "They'll never get there in time they have to travel halfway across the Galaxy," Padme started, but Anakin cut in. "No, it's bad enough I brought you here. Master Windu told me to stay here. Besides, Jacen said he would leave ahead of the others, he will get there in time," Anakin said. "Owen, tell me you have extra space. We'll be staying here for now," Anakin said. Owen nodded and took the two into the hut.
After the Jedi bring the Chancellor up to speed, he is able to attain Emergency Powers and authorize the use of the Clone Army. Mace than takes what Jedi he can to Geonosis, while Yoda goes to Kamino to see this Clone Army.
When Jacen gets to Geonosis he goes through the same gauntlet Anakin went through and ends up with a broken lightsaber as a result.
Meanwhile, still on Tatooine, Anakin is awoken by a sound. He got up and looked out to see the same tribe of Tusken Raiders he encountered the night before ready for a fight. He told the Lars family to hide and said, "I'll deal with them." Padme came to him, afraid of what they might do to him and said, "I Love you." Anakin paused. "You Love me? I thought that we had decided not to fall in love. That we would be forced to live a lie, and that it would destroy our lives." Padme didn't care about that anymore, as she said, "I truly, deeply, love you and whatever happens I want you to know." Anakin turned back and kissed her, then walked out to face the Raiders.
Padme watched from a window as Anakin called for C-3PO to follow him. Anakin ignited his green blade, but only for protection. He had no intention of killing the Tuskans, rather just trying to convince them to leave peacefully. Using C-3PO as a translator he communicated with the Tuskans. As the conversation went on, he deactivated his lightsaber and put it on the ground, showing that he wouldn't hurt them. Watching from inside Padme and the Lars followed suit and dropped their blasters as well. Padme watched in amazement as Anakin successfully negotiated piece with the Tuskans, who agreed to leave and never bother the Lars again.
Astonished at what they saw, Padme and the Lars exited the homestead. It was Owen who spoke first, "how did you convince them to leave? No one has ever been able to successfully negotiate with the Tuskans before," he explained. "I spent most of my padawan years studying the true nature of the Force. When you can truly connect to it, you can communicate with almost anyone. If there is a peaceful resolution, I will go for that before using my lightsaber," Anakin explained. Padme was truly impressed, and watching this only made her love and respect him more. "I think maybe it would be best if we head back to Naboo. I have their word, they'll never bother you here again," Anakin said. "You're welcome to visit here anytime," Owen said. Anakin and Padme nodded and thanked them, then taking R2 and 3PO with them they left back for Naboo.
The battle of Geonosis happens the same way. Jacen is brought into the massive arena and chained up next to Obi-Wan. The giant Reek and Aklay are used to try and execute the Jedi. Both Jedi survive the beast attacks, and Windu arrives with the Jedi he brought with him. They put up a fight until they are outnumbered by battle droids. As they are about to be fired upon, Yoda enters with the Republic gunships and the Clone Army. Obi-Wan and Jacen follow Dooku to the hangar, where Jacen's aggression leads to him being blasted by Sith Lightning. They duel against Dooku and are eventually saved by Yoda. Dooku escapes and the Clone War begins. On Coruscant, when Obi-Wan is asked where his Padawan is, he tells them he's at the medical facility getting a new prosthetic arm. The film ends with Anakin and Padme's secret wedding on Naboo.
That is Part 3. I know it's long, but Star Wars films are long, and there are a lot of changes to be discussed. I know it's odd to have the Tuskans return to the Lars home, but I feel like there still needs to be that sense of danger in order for Padme to confess her love for Anakin. Then to have her watch Anakin successfully convince the Tuskans to leave peacefully, will only make her love and respect him more. I debated having Anakin tell Jacen about their mother's death, but I believe Jacen would sense that. With the capture of Obi-Wan, he won't have much time to process it, let alone lash at Anakin for not being able to save her.
Part 4 is going to cover a few of the main changes in the Clone Wars. Jacen will be part of the arc on Morits, and Anakin's knowledge of the Force will grow to the point where he will spend 4 months near the end of the War learning a new ability. One that will help him out in Revenge of the Sith.
What if Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader were two Different People? Part2
Description: this is the Second part of what if Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader were two different people. In part 1 we introduced Jacen Skywalker as the older brother of Anakin. We explained how this effects the backstory of both Jacen and Anakin Skywalker. We also explored the very few changes that would occur in the Phantom Menace and how Jacen would react to finding out he has a younger brother who is believed to be the Chosen One. In part 2 the brothers will finally meet. This will create a lot of jealousy in Jacen, that will grow leading up to the events in Attack of the Clones. This will pick up the day they return from Naboo. If you have not read the first part yet, I recommend you read that first before reading this one.

The Jedi finally returned to Coruscant. It had been a rough few days. With the re-emergence of the Sith and now Qui-Gon's untimely death there was a lot to go over. Now, someone had to show Anakin around the Jedi Temple. That someone would be Mace. After all he chose to make Anakin his padawan. The first place he took Anakin to, was the youngling training room. There were many younglings in there, all about Anakin's age. One Youngling caught their eyes. "Younglings come," said Mace. All of the younglings came instantly, they'd never disobey an order from the Master of the Order. Jacen moved to the front as Mace spoke. "This is Anakin Skywalker, he is the newest member of the Jedi Order," Mace told them. For the first time Anakin locked eyes with his older brother. "I'm Jacen, I guess it's true you really are my brother," he said. Anakin smiled, "pleased to meet you, Jacen. Mom told me to tell you that she said hello," Anakin said keeping his promise to her. "Come Anakin, there's more I need to show you," said Mace. "Yes, Master," Anakin said and they moved on.
Mace showed Anakin all around the Temple. From the archives to the different training rooms, to the Master Padawan quarters where they would stay. The place Anakin liked most was a small outside area. Anakin had very little experience with Nature, but the tree and the grass in this area of the Temple were peaceful to him. He felt a connection here. "Master Qui-Gon liked it out here too," Mace said. "It's very peaceful here, there weren't any trees or grass where I came from," Anakin replied. Mace gave him a moment to enjoy the peace and nature before they moved on.
Jacen's friends came up to him after Mace and Anakin left. One of the more aquatic younglings spoke to him first. "Did you hear that, Jacen? Anakin called him Master," he said. "All the younglings call him Master," Jacen argued. "No we don't, we call him Master Windu, just like we call Yoda Master Yoda," said a Zabrak youngling. "He must be Windu's padawan then," the aquatic youngling replied. "I heard they call him the chosen one," said a Twilek. "I heard he saved the entire planet of Naboo," the Zabrak added in.
Soon, Anakin returned, and they all asked their questions. "Is it true they call you the Chosen one?" the Twilek asked. "Yeah, it's true," Anakin responded. "Is Mace Windu your Master?" Asked the aquatic youngling. "Yes, I'm his padawan," Anakin said, and all the other younglings ooed and aahd. "Did you really save the planet of Naboo from the trade federation?" Asked the Zabrak. "Yep, it's all true," Anakin said. At this point Jacen begins to get jealous. "How did you do all that?" Jacen asked. "They got stuck on Tatooine and showed up in the junkshop I worked at. Their hyperdrive was busted, and they were stuck there. I had to win a Pod race to get the part they needed to repair it. After Qui-Gon freed me, I came back to Naboo with them. He told me to hide and stay in the cockpit of a star fighter. I used the trigger on the star fighter to blast battle droids that were after the Queen, then when it took me to the Droid control ship I blasted it, and it blew up," Anakin explained. "Wait, you were a Slave?" Jacen asked almost laughing. "He's a hero Jacen," the Twilek said, and they all treated him as such.
That night Jacen heard the deep dark voice appear again in a dream. This time it appeared in the form of a black machine. "Your destiny lies with me," it said again before fading away. The next day Jacen appeared to Grand Master Yoda. "Of what help can I be?" Yoda asked. "I keep hearing this deep dark voice telling me my destiny lies with him. Last night he appeared to me in the form of a mysterious black machine," Jacen explained. Master Yoda meditated for a moment and could sense a bit of jealousy forming in Jacen. "A bit of jealousy I sense in you hmm?" said the Master. "I guess so, I want to be happy about having a brother, but Anakin just got here, and he's already accomplished a lot," Jacen said. "Much to learn he still has. Surpassed you he has Not, let go of your jealousy. A path to the Dark side it is. Speak to him if you must, and go away the voice should," Yoda explained. Jacen nodded to the Grand Master and headed to the youngling training room.
Mace took Anakin to the training room with the other younglings, and the first lesson would begin. Mace gave Anakin a training Saber and said to the other younglings, "take a seat. Before we begin, I need to see how good Anakin's reflexes really are." They all took a seat and a blast Droid appeared in the room. "Anakin, use your instincts and protect yourself from the droid's blasts," Mace told him. Anakin nodded and ignited the training Saber. The Droid began firing, and Anakin sensed every blast before it came. He was able to block every blast as if it was nothing. The younglings were amazed, and even Mace himself was surprised at how fast Anakin's reflexes were. The test ended, and Anakin bowed to Mace. He did the test again, this time giving Anakin a blind shield. "You will do the test again Anakin, but this time I want you to act on instinct alone." "How do I fight if I can't see?" He asked. "Sometimes your eyes can deceive you, don't trust them," Mace explained. Anakin nodded and put the blind shield on. Again, he did well, but this time he missed just one that grazed his shoulder. "It's alright Anakin, I don't expect you to be perfect now. I just need to see what you can do, so we know what we need to work on," Mace explained. The rest of the younglings joined in, and they all did the blind shield test together.
Later that night Anakin received a transmission from Jacen. "Anakin, I need to talk to you," he said. "I'll come to you, just let me inform Master Windu first," Anakin said. "Jacen contacted me, he has something he needs to talk to me about," Anakin said. "Alright Anakin, but don't be gone too long," Mace said. Anakin nodded and made his way to Jacen's youngling dorm. Jacen looked at Anakin with shame as he admitted, "I'm a bit jealous of you Anakin. Now, I keep hearing this deep dark voice in my head. Master Yoda says if I face you with it, the voice might go away." "Let's sit down, I'll meditate with you," Anakin said. It should be noted, that although Anakin has only been at the Temple for a few days, Mace has already taught him about the importance of meditation. Anakin has interest in connecting to the Force, so he is already beginning to form that connection through the Force. Anakin and Jacen sat across from each other and closed their eyes. Anakin focused hard, and soon enough he heard the voice that Jacen was hearing. "You cannot escape your destiny, not even your brother can help you," it said. "Don't be afraid of it Jacen, it can't control you," Anakin said. Jacen confronted the voice and it disappeared. "Thanks for helping me Anakin," Jacen said. "It's no problem, that's what brothers are for," Anakin said. Then he got up and returned to his and Windu's shared quarters.
Anakin and Jacen will grow stronger from here, but on their own paths. Jacen is still not a padawan yet, and Anakin is learning from Windu. About six months after arriving at the Jedi Temple Anakin begins to want to learn about the nature of the force. He shares this interest with Mace, who he has now formed a close bond with. "Master, I want to study the nature of the Force. I want to become fully entuned to it," Anakin said. "Follow me Anakin," Mace said. Anakin followed Master Windu to the Jedi archives. Mace showed him the section that contains the nature of the Force. "This is as far into the archives as you can go, but all of these texts here explain the nature of the Force. You can look and study any of these that you wish," Mace said. Anakin took one of the books back and read it all the way through.
Two years would go by, and Anakin had become very entuned with the Force. So much so, that when he built his lightsaber the Kyber crystal shined green. At this point Jacen was finally assigned to a Master. This Master would be Obi-Wan Kenobi. Now the Skywalker brothers were on their paths. As Anakin grew in the Force, Jacen's jealousy towards Anakin would resurface. Jacen would go on missions with Obi-Wan, while Anakin would stay at the Temple and continue to study the nature of the Force.
Finally, the year before Attack of the Clones, Anakin would go on his first mission. Obi-Wan and Jacen would be called upon to deal with a growing dispute on the Planet of Ansion. With Anakin's senses in the Force so strong, Mace decides it might be a good idea for Anakin to go along with them. The three head off to Ansion to deal with the tension rising. As they approach, Anakin begins to meditate, trying to get a feel on the situation. He can sense the tension, but also senses the potential for a peaceful resolution. "Master shouldn't we be coming up with a plan?" Jacen asks. "Have patience, your brother is very entuned to the Force, as my Master was. He is getting a read on the situation, then we will come up with a plan," Obi-Wan explains. "With the reading I'm getting I think we have a chance to negotiate with them peacefully," Anakin explains. "Then that will be out plan," Obi-Wan decides much to Jacen's displeasure.
The three meet with the planetary leaders, as well as both sides of the conflict. Obi-Wan is surprised and impressed by Anakin's ability to understand their problems and negotiate a peaceful resolution. Unfortunately, a spy attacks them as they are trying to leave. Jacen ignites his lightsaber, followed by Obi-Wan and Anakin simultaneously. The three block shots fired at them, and then capture the spy. He is then brought back before the Planets dignitaries, before the three leave for Coruscant. After the briefing, Obi-Wan and Jacen are sent on another mission. While Mace suggests Anakin is ready to face the Jedi trials. The Council agrees and Anakin faces the Jedi trials. His trial includes Lightsaber combat against Master Yoda himself. The two green Sabers lock in combat, and Anakin uses his connection with the Force to sense Yoda's next move and evade or block it. Anakin doesn't beat Yoda, but Yoda doesn't beat him either. When the duel is over both Yoda and Anakin are still standing. Anakin bows to Yoda, after which he is knighted and made an official Jedi Knight.
That is part 2. These are all of the key things that happen after The Phantom Menace leading up to Attack of the Clones. The purpose of this is to explain what happens after the Skywalker brothers meet, explain how they take different paths, and most important build the jealousy in Jacen that leads to his eventual downfall as Darth Vader. Since Anakin's Master is a Jedi Council member, he rarely leaves the Jedi temple. That gives him plenty of time to study the true nature of the Force and form a strong connection to it. That is why when he builds his lightsaber his Kyber crystal will shine Green, to represent his growing connection to the Force. Jacen is very jealous of how fast his brother grows in his development, especially with Anakin being Younger than him. He is also more aggressive, and prefers to use his lightsaber, just like Anakin did in the original timeline. I also realize that it's a bit odd to have Obi-Wan train Jacen, when the age gap between them is even smaller than his age gap with Anakin, but we have to remember, that even in this timeline, the Jedi Council is still blind to the will of the Force. Jacen is ready to become a Padawan at the same time Obi-Wan is ready to take one on, and the Council will believe that Obi-Wan can help Jacen overcome his insecurities.
Part 3 will be all about Attack of the Clones. The film changes in many ways. There are two places in the film where things could change completely. When Jacen finds out that Anakin is a Jedi Knight already, that will fuel his jealousy even more.
What if Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader were two Different People? Part 1
Description: this will be another multi part Star Wars Theory. In this one we will explore what would happen if Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader were two different people. I see two ways this could've been possible. 1. Anakin has an older brother he doesn't know about who becomes Darth Vader. 2. A new family is introduced that is as important as the Skywalker family, and a boy from that family becomes Darth Vader. For this one I'm going to go with the first option. We will begin about 3 years before Anakin is born, when Shmi is still free. Then there will be a time jump.
About three years before Anakin is born Shmi gives birth to her first-born son, Jacen Skywalker. They live free together, as at this point Shmi has not been taken to Tatooine. A few years later, maybe a few months or so before Anakin is born, Jacen is discovered by a Jedi Knight, who senses a strong presence in the Force. For story's sake, let's say this Jedi Knight is Mace Windu. Once he discovers that Jacen is strong in the Force Mace convinces Shmi to take Jacen to the Jedi Temple.
Jacen is almost three years old when he is taken to the Jedi Temple. Mace shows him to the Youngling quarters and later gives him a full tour of the Temple. The next day Jacen begins training with Younglings of his age and learning about the nature of the Force. He is still young at this point and does not have any real strong attachments.
A few months after Jacen is taken Shmi gives birth to Anakin. She decides not to tell Anakin about his older brother, because although she let Jacen go with the Jedi it still hurt her to know that the two will never meet. Three years after Anakin is born Shmi and Anakin are taken aboard a ship which lands on Tatooine and sold into slavery to Gardula the Hutt. They spend the next several years doing hard slave labor for the Hutt. During this time Anakin becomes a fine young mechanic and pilot for his age. He begins pod racing at seven or eight. After crashing in his second race Watto wins the services of Shmi and Anakin.
Meanwhile, for the last seven- or eight-years Jacen has been training at the Jedi Temple with his fellow Younglings. At eight years old Jacen is ready to build his first lightsaber. His Kyber crystal shines blue, and he builds a Lightsaber that fits him perfectly.
This brings us to the events of The Phantom Menace. The events in the first film don't change that much. Jacen is at the Jedi Temple still training with his friends and fellow younglings, he doesn't play a huge role here. The Trade Federation still puts a blockade around Naboo. Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi are still sent as Jedi Ambassadors to negotiate with the Trade Federation. The negotiations never take place, and Queen Amidala is forced to flee to Coruscant. The Hyperdrive is still damaged during their escape, and they still land on Tatooine. They still meet Anakin the same way and Anakin and Padme still have the same conversation upon meeting for the first time. Anakin still takes them to his home to wait out the sandstorm.
This is where the first change in the film takes place. When Anakin asks Qui-Gon about being a Jedi. Anakin says, "you're a Jedi Knight, aren't you?" "What makes you think that?" Qui-Gon asked. "I saw your laser sword only Jedi carry them," Anakin replied. As Shmi is listening to this conversation she begins to get worried. She has already lost contact with one son; she becomes concerned she may lose contact with the other. "How do you know I didn't kill a Jedi and take it from him?" "No one can kill a Jedi," Anakin responded. "If only that were true," Qui-Gon said. Anakin would then ask Qui-Gon if he came to free them, to which he would reply, "I'm afraid not." There would come a point, likely when Anakin is trying to convince them to let him race for Padme and Qui-Gon, when Shmi would finally reveal the existence of Jacen Skywalker. In that moment Shmi said, "I already have one son at the Jedi Temple." Anakin looked at her shocked, but it was Qui-Gon who spoke, "Jacen Skywalker. He's growing very fast and very powerful," Qui-Gon comments. Finally, Anakin asked, "how come you never told me I had a brother?" Shmi looked at her son as she explained, "I didn't think you two would ever meet." Shmi would then allow Anakin to race.
Even while talking to Qui-Gon about Anakin's future, she is still hesitant to let Qui-Gon take him should he be freed. "I know he deserves better than a slave's life, but I don't know if I want him to be taken to the Temple. I feel bad not telling him about Jacen," Shmi said. Qui-Gon understands, her first son was taken without much choice and now she's afraid that this will also be without choice. "I will do what I can to help Anakin, the decision to join us will be completely up to Anakin," Qui-Gon promised.
Anakin still wins the pod race, and still chooses to go with the Jedi when he finds out he's been freed. This is where the second big change takes place. In this time-line Anakin is not as much concerned about leaving his mother. Rather, he is now curious about this older brother he has never met. Instead of asking his mother if he will see her again, he simply promises her that he will see her again. "I will see you again Mom, I promise you," Anakin said. "Tell Jacen hello for me when you see him," she tells him. Anakin nods and follows Qui-Gon without turning back.
Anakin's conversation with Padme on the way to Coruscant slightly changes as well. It goes the same up till the end. "Are you alright?" Padme asked. "It's very cold," Anakin said shivering. Padme took off her over jacket and put it over him. "You're from a warm place Ani, too warm for my taste but space is cold." "You seem sad," Anakin said. "The Queen is worried. Her people are suffering dying. I don't know what's going to happen," Padme explained. "I don't know what's going to happen to me either, I may never see you again." Anakin reached into his pocket and pulled out a pendant he was working on. "I made this for you. I carved it out of a Japer snippet. It'll bring you good fortune," he said. Padme took it and put it on. "It's beautiful but I don't need this to remember you by. Things will change when we get to the Capital, but my caring for you will always remain." "I care about you too, I just," "you miss your mother," Padme finished. "A little, but I'm also interested in meeting my brother Jacen," Anakin explained. Padme nodded, she understood. She couldn't imagine if she had a sibling she never knew about.
Nothing changes with Padme's address to the Senate. They still ignore her, and she still has Chancellor Valorum removed. It's during Anakin's testing in front of the Jedi Council that things change. Anakin passed the image tests and everything. His feelings and emotions are slightly different when asked by Master Yoda, "how feel do you?" "Cold sir," Anakin responded. "Afraid, are you?" He asked. "No sir," he replied again. "Read your feelings we can," Yoda explained. "I would expect your thoughts would dwell on you mother, but I sense something else on your mind, a curiosity," Mundi explained. "Before I left, she told me I have a brother who was brought here before I was born," Anakin explained. The entire Council nods. "You are curious about your brother, Jacen Skywalker," Mace revealed. "Yes, sir," Anakin said honestly. "Not as dangerous as fear, is Curiosity. Change that you are too old, this does not," Yoda replied. "I believe Anakin can be trained, but we will discuss his future later," Mace said to the surprise of everyone. At this point the Council informs Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan of Queen Amidala's decision to return to Naboo and assign them to go back with her.
Behind the scenes, Jacen Skywalker and some of his friends sneak to the outside of the Council chambers. When Jacen heard whispers of a boy named Anakin Skywalker who was believed to be the chosen one, he had to know for himself. Using the Force, he listens in, and indeed learns that not only is Anakin his brother, but that Qui-Gon indeed believes he is the chosen one. During this he hears a deep dark voice telling him that his destiny lies with him.
The rest of the Phantom Menace plays out almost the same. Obi-Wan realizes that the council does not sense any immediate danger in Anakin, and so does not argue much with Qui-Gon about it. Queen Amidala forms an alliance with the Gungans. The Gungans lure most of the Droid armies away from the Palace, and Queen Amidala, her handmaids, and her Guards along with the Jedi and Anakin sneak in through the back way. Darth Maul duels with the Jedi, killing Qui-Gon before Obi-Wan cuts him in half. Anakin aids the Queen and her handmaids before his star fighter exits the hangar. He then uses that star fighter to blow up the Droid control ship, securing the Victory for Queen Amidala.
The final change comes right at the end. The Jedi Council decides to allow Anakin to be trained, without Obi-Wan threatening to go against the council to do so. However, Mace Windu volunteers himself to train Anakin Skywalker. “Allow Anakin to be trained we will. Ready to take a Padawan however, you are not,” Yoda said. “I promised Qui-Gon I would train Anakin. If not me then who?” Obi-Wan asked. “I will.” Obi-Wan looked up to see Mace Windu next to him with his hand on his shoulder. “If Qui-Gon is right and Anakin is indeed the Chosen One destined to bring balance to the Force, then he will need an established and powerful Master to train him,” Windu explained. “I promise in a year or two you will be ready to take a padawan of your own,” Mace finished. Obi-Wan nodded and agreed.
That is the end of Part 1. In this time-line Anakin is much more curious than fearful. The Jedi Council decides that even though Anakin is much older than most younglings brought in, they believe he has no signs of darkness in him. They also realize that Obi-Wan is not ready to take a Padawan yet, and if Anakin is meant to bring balance to the Force, then he should be trained by an established Master. Anakin is destined to become the most powerful Force user in the Galaxy, it makes sense to have him be trained by the most powerful Master in the Order, which is Mace Windu. In part 2 I promise we will see the first meeting between the Skywalker brothers, and the younglings will have a much different reaction to Anakin then in the original timeline. We will also see seeds of jealousy planted in Jacen Skywalker that will play a key role in Jacen’s eventual transformation into Darth Vader.
What if Padme and Sabe had been Successful in freeing Shmi Skywalker? Part 3.
Description: welcome to the 3rd and final part of this What if Star Wars Theory. In this part we will explore how events in Revenge of The Sith would change if Shmi was safe on Naboo with her family. Now, there are 3 ways this fan fiction could end. 1. Palpatine still tries to manipulate Anakin but fails leading to his death. 2. Palpatine escapes and starts his Empire after executing Order 66, without Anakin. 3. Palpatine is arrested by the Jedi and sentenced to life in Carbon Freeze. I like option 3, so that is what I will go with.
If you have not read the first two parts, I highly recommend you read those, before reading this finale.
Another thing to note before we begin, with Shmi still alive, and Anakin having never slaughtered a tribe of Tuskan Raiders, Anakin has No dark side energy. Therefore, he would have No reason to kill Dooku. In fact, I think that is where I am going to start Part 3, when Obi-Wan and Anakin are dueling Dooku.

Obi-Wan and Anakin were staring down Dooku, they had fought him before, but only separately. This is the first time the two faced him together. Anakin looked to Obi-Wan, who said, "we'll take him together." Anakin nodded, as the two ignited their lightsabers. Dooku tried to send Sith Lightning in the direction of Anakin, but Obi-Wan blocked it, allowing Anakin to sneak behind and attack. Dooku parried, and Anakin came back again. Dooku realized he needed to isolate the two, and knocked Obi-Wan to the ground, then using the force, dropped the catwalk of the ship unto him. Now, it was just Anakin and Dooku. Anakin was fast and aggressive, but Dooku was a powerful duelist. Without the dark side fueling Anakin, Dooku had nothing to leverage on him. He simply taunted the young Jedi Knight. "Obi-Wan has spoken highly of you, I would've thought you'd be better," Dooku prodded. Anakin didn't bite, he just kept coming. Since Dooku was older, the longer the duel went, the more it favored Anakin. Until finally, Anakin found an opening and disarmed Dooku, by cutting off his hands. Dooku's lightsaber landed in Anakin's empty hand, and he deactivated both.
Palpatine applauded him, "Good Anakin good. Now kill him," Palpatine said. Anakin and Dooku both looked at him in shock and disbelief. Anakin responded to this remark, "No, it's Not the Jedi way. He must stand trial." Palpatine smirked and tried one more time, "he's a Sith Lord Anakin, he's too dangerous to be left alive." Anakin ignored the order pulled Dooku up and put handcuffs on what was left of his wrists, much to Palpatine's dismay. "I refuse to kill a defenseless, unarmed man," Anakin said at last. Dooku breathed a sigh of relief, as Anakin released the restraints on Palpatine's chair. Then he turned to Obi-Wan, who was still unconscious on the ground. "He's still alive," Anakin commented. "There's No time, we must leave him," Palpatine said. Anakin glared at him, "his fate will be the same as ours," Anakin growled, lifting Obi-Wan on his shoulders.
As the three were escaping, Obi-Wan finally came to, seeing that Dooku was in handcuffs. "You managed to arrest Dooku, I'm impressed," Obi-Wan commented. "Once Dooku started tiring it wasn't that difficult to disarm him," Anakin explained. Before the four could escape, they were trapped by one of the Invisible Hand's ray shields. They were then brought before Grievous, who entertained the idea of dueling with Kenobi and Skywalker for a moment. However, he decided to let his magna guards handle the Jedi with his ship on the verge of being destroyed, and escape. He launched all the escape pods during his escape, which forced Anakin to try to use his expert flying skills to safely land the ship.
Anakin was successfully able to land what was left of the Invisible Hand to the platform. When they arrived Obi-Wan decided that Anakin should meet with the Politicians. "There is No question you were the hero of this mission Anakin. You managed to defeat and arrest Dooku without me, and safely land a burning ship. Besides one of us needs to take Dooku to the Jedi Council for questioning, and I can handle that," Obi-Wan said. "As you wish Master," Anakin responded and they went their separate ways.
When Obi-Wan brought Dooku before the Jedi Council, he agreed he would tell them everything he knew. "I will tell you everything I know. Just protect my life from my Master, I now know he was just using me as a pawn, and now wants me dead," Dooku explained. The Jedi Council agreed and had Mace Windu and Kit Fisto escort Dooku to his cell.
In the Senate building, the Senators all praised Anakin as a hero for saving the Chancellor. Anakin was happy however, when he was finally able to break away and meet with his mostly secret wife, Padme. They embraced before Padme spoke. "Oh Anakin, I was so worried. There were whispers you'd been killed," she said. "I promise you I'm quite alright," he reassured. "It seems like we've been apart for a lifetime," Padme said. "It might have been sooner if not for the attack on Coruscant." They stopped talking as Anakin sensed something. "What is it? You're trembling," he asked. "Anakin, something wonderful has happened. Ani, I'm pregnant," she said. Anakin smiled, "a baby? That's wonderful." "What are we going to do?" Padme asked. She was worried about what would happen if it came out to the public. "We're going to contact our families, and not worry about anything right now. This is a happy moment, the happiest moment of my life," Anakin finished.
When they got back to the apartment Padme told her parents and sister first. "Mom, Dad, get Sola immediately, there's something I have to tell you," Padme said barely able to maintain her excitement. As soon as the three were together Anakin got closer as Padme told them. "I'm sorry I waited so long to tell you this, but I needed to tell Anakin first. I'm pregnant," she said smiling. Sola was the first to speak, "Congratulations I was wondering when my kids were going to have little cousins to play with." "We're so happy for you and we can’t wait to meet the little one," Jobal said.
After they finished their conversation, Anakin used his ComLink to contact Shmi. "Ani, it's always a nice surprise to talk to you," she said gently. "Listen Mom, we have some news for you," Anakin said hardly able to contain his own smile. Shmi looked happily at Anakin, as Padme appeared in the holo image, she had a feeling where this conversation was going. "I just returned to Coruscant, and I've learned from Padme that we are expecting," he said as Padme smiled next to him. "That's wonderful news, I'm so happy for you both. I know you will make an excellent father Anakin," Shmi said gently. Satisfied that both of their families knew, they went to bed for the night.
That night Anakin tossed and turned in his sleep, as he heard the screams of Padme calling out to him. Anakin awoke immediately, all of a sudden worry coming to his face at what he just saw. He looked next to him; Padme hadn't moved. He didn't want to wake her, so he went out to the veranda to meditate on what he saw.
Padme woke up, and Anakin was gone. Worried and confused she headed to the veranda and saw him there alone. "Anakin, is everything alright?" She asked. He turned to her; he had never had a dream like this before. He didn't know whether he should tell her or not. Before he could make up his mind, she spoke again. "I've never seen that look on your face before, but I can tell that something is troubling you." That made the decision for him. If she could tell he was troubled, then he couldn't hide it from her. "I had a nightmare unlike anything I've ever had before. In fact, I've never had a nightmare in my life at all. It felt so real to me," he explained. Padme came over and put her hand on his shoulder. "What did you see?" She asked. Still horrified he told her "I saw you." Padme stopped, all of a sudden, she felt her hand touch the japer Anakin had given to her years ago. She remembered him telling her it would bring her good fortune. Anakin saw the action and touched it with her as he told her, "I saw you screaming my name, you were in pain, and you die in childbirth," he said at last. Padme gave him a worried look. She knew that Jedi could have premonitions, and though Anakin had never had one before, she didn't know if this was one that would come true or not. Without thinking she asked, "and the baby?" Anakin paused, he didn't have an answer, he didn't see what became of their child. All he could say was, "I don't know, I didn't see what became of the baby?" "You should tell someone, maybe your mother or Obi-Wan," Padme said at last. "I'll tell my mother in the morning, she's never steered me wrong before," he said.
The next morning, Anakin made contact with his mother. "Ani, what is it?" Shmi asked as if she could tell something was wrong. "It was awful Mom, I just had the worst nightmare," Anakin said, fear still visible on his face. "Tell me Ani," she said warmly. "Padme was screaming, she was in pain, and she died in childbirth," he explained. "I don't know what to do, I've never had a nightmare like that before, it felt so real," Anakin continued. Shmi gave him a look of concern as she thought for a moment. This was something that was out of her experience. For once, she felt like this might be the one thing she couldn't help him with. Finally, she spoke, "Ani, all I can tell you is to trust your instincts. Padme's life has been in danger before, and you've always managed to protect her." Anakin looked at her. "You're probably right. Thanks Mom." The holo disappeared. Anakin thought for a moment. This really is something only the Jedi can help me with. How can I explain this to them without revealing my marriage to Padme? He thought.
A moment later Anakin was summoned to the Jedi Council chambers. He entered and was surrounded by the Jedi. "The Chancellor has just told us that he wants you to be his appointed member of the Jedi Council," Mace Windu began. "A bold move for him this is," Yoda commented. Anakin thought for a moment. He felt uneasy about this. First, he tells him to kill Dooku, and now he wants him to be his personal representative on the Council. He decided to reveal to the Jedi what happened during his duel with Dooku. "This is the second suspicious thing he has done since yesterday," he began. "What do you mean Skywalker? Mace asked. "I'm not sure what Dooku told you, but after I disarmed him in our duel, Palpatine told me to kill him. He said he was too dangerous to be left alive," Anakin explained. The entire Council shuddered at this revelation. "If you appoint me to the Jedi Council, I will accept it only on my own merits," he said at last. Mace finished by saying, "very well, in that case you are on this Council. Welcome, Master Skywalker." Anakin took his seat, and the council made their decisions. "With the information from Dooku, and now this testimony from Master Skywalker, we have more evidence of crimes by our own Chancellor," Mace said. "The trick will be convincing the Senate that Palpatine manipulated everything and for them to remove him from office," Obi-Wan said. "Handle that Master Skywalker should," Yoda suggested. "Anakin does have the best connection to the Politicians," Obi-Wan commented. "Are You sure you want that to be my mission?" Anakin asked. "You have earned our trust Anakin, and you are the best Jedi Master for that task," Mace said. "All that leaves now is locating Grievous then," Anakin comments. "Take that Mission Master Kenobi should," Yoda decides. The council agrees, and they end the meeting.
After the meeting Obi-Wan meets with Anakin. "I'm very proud of the Jedi you have become Anakin," Obi-Wan praised. "I wouldn't have become the Jedi I am without your training, Master Kenobi. Though I have to admit, I'm not a perfect Jedi," Anakin responded. Obi-Wan looked at him for a moment, sensing Anakin had something important he needed to tell him, he pulled Anakin to a more private room. "You're like my brother Anakin, you know you can come to me about anything," Obi-Wan said. Anakin took a deep breath as he spoke. "Three years ago, Senator Amidala and I fell in Love. We had a secret wedding on Naboo, with only our families as witnesses." Obi-Wan wasn't entirely surprised to hear this but allowed Anakin to continue. "When we got back to Coruscant, I learned that Padme was Pregnant. That night, I had a nightmare. She was screaming, in pain, and died in childbirth. I've never had a nightmare in my life, but this felt so real," Anakin finished. Obi-Wan grew very concerned by this. He then asked Anakin, "Why didn't you come to me sooner?" "I went to my mother first; she never steered me wrong before. Her advice was reasonable, but I realized she can only help me so much with problems that might deal with the force," Anakin explained. Obi-Wan nodded. "Dreams pass in time most of the time. However, this coinciding with Palpatine telling you to kill Dooku unarmed and trying to make you his personal representative on the council, is very suspicious," Obi-Wan explains. "It's possible that the dark side is being used to make you see things that you don't want to see. If you focus on trying to get Palpatine out of office, then we will deal with him from there," Obi-Wan said. Anakin nodded at this. "I will talk to Padme, if Palpatine is the Sith Lord, she and her caucus will work to have him removed," he said. "I will see if the Jedi Council will have Dooku testify in the Senate to help increase your odds once I get a location on Grievous," Obi-Wan said. "Don't worry about your secret Anakin, I won't tell the rest of the council," Obi-Wan promised, and the two went their separate ways.
Obi-Wan went to the Republic prison. Once there he approached Dooku's cell, which was guarded by Temple guards. "Master Kenobi, what can I help you with?" Dooku asked. "First I need to find General Grievous. I was hoping you might know where he is hiding," Obi-Wan replied. Dooku closed his eyes for a moment and appeared to meditate. Then he spoke. "If I heard correctly, I believe General Grievous is hiding on Utapau," Dooku said. "How were you able to figure that out?" Obi-Wan asked. "I can still hear what my Master is saying through the Force," he explained. "Very well, I was also hoping you would testify in the Senate. We believe we have evidence of corruption by Chancellor Palpatine," Obi-Wan explained. "So, you have figured it out then. I always knew you were one of the wiser Jedi in the Order Master Kenobi," Dooku praised. "So, it's true then. Palpatine is the Sith Lord we've been looking for," Obi-Wan said. "I will testify against my Master, if you promise I'll have Jedi protection," Dooku agreed. "I will make sure you are protected from the Sith," Obi-Wan said. "One more thing Master Kenobi. Watch out for your Clones, they are programed with chips. If Palpatine gives the order, they will turn on you," Dooku explained. Obi-Wan nodded and left for the Jedi Temple.
Padme was waiting when Anakin returned to their apartment. "I heard about your appointment. I'm so proud of you," Padme said smiling. "My new status as a Jedi Master is the last thing on my mind right now," Anakin said. Padme came over to him, now with a look of worry on her face. "What happened Anakin?" She asked him. "There's a lot of mounting evidence that Chancellor Palpatine has been manipulating the entire war all along. He wanted me to be his personal representative on the Jedi Council, and he tried to encourage me to kill a defenseless Dooku, which I refused to do," he explained. Padme went cold at the thought. The idea that Palpatine was actually the one keeping the war going made sense to her though. Finally, she spoke her feelings. "Have you ever thought that maybe we're serving the wrong side?" "I'm beginning to," Anakin said. "What should we do?" She asked. "The Jedi Council is suggesting that with testimony from Dooku, we may be able to have Palpatine removed from office. You have a strong pull in the Senate Padme. With evidence from us, and testimony from Dooku, we should be able to pull a vote of No Confidence in Palpatine. Then we can arrest Palpatine," Anakin explained. Padme thought about it. She had removed a Supreme Chancellor before, when she was Queen of Naboo. "I know you're worried about our child, I am too. I promise you; I won't let anything happen to you. I talked to Obi-Wan, he thinks my nightmares may be influenced by the dark side, and Palpatine may be involved. Taking down Palpatine is the best way to protect both you and the baby," Anakin reassured. With that reassurance, Padme smiled and agreed she would do what she could to help the Jedi.
After her conversation with Anakin, Padme went to the Senate building. While she wanted to help the Jedi put an end to the war, she needed more evidence that Palpatine was behind it. Using a disguise from one of her guards, she snuck into the Chancellor's office with R2-D2. Luckily for her he was not there. R2-D2 then hacked into the Chancellor's computer. R2 downloaded the records and Files, then logged out of the computer. She then placed a secret recording camera out of the sight of Palpatine, and they left.
Meanwhile, Anakin was asked to join Palpatine at the opera house. He agreed to meet Palpatine, in hopes he would give Anakin information to aid the investigation. "Something is troubling you Anakin, tell me," Palpatine said. Anakin thought for a moment. Does he know about my nightmares, or about our investigation? He thought. "I know what's troubling you, the Jedi Council has asked you to look in on me, haven't they?" Palpatine asked. This confirmed it, Palpatine somehow knew what was going on. Anakin decided to bait a bit more, to see if Palpatine would reveal it for himself. "It's not the Jedi Council that troubles me." "Ahh," Palpatine said before Anakin could continue. "You are troubled by something else. The death of someone," Palpatine said. Anakin shuddered, now he knew Palpatine was behind it. Palpatine then told him about the Sith Legend of the Tragedy of Darth Plagues the Wise. After this Anakin had enough and returned to the Jedi Temple.
As Padme was going through the information she had, she came across a number of emergency powers and contingency orders she thought were unnecessary. One stood out, order 66. This was it, the evidence that Palpatine was not only controlling the war but was going to use it to eliminate the Jedi. She called her fellow Senators and organized a meeting in her office. Then she explained what was going on. "Master Skywalker came to me and told me that the Jedi Council has increasing evidence that Palpatine is manipulating the war. I'm also beginning to question whether the Republic we thought we were serving is the right side to serve. R2-D2 and I managed to dig into records and contingency orders from the Chancellor, and it appears Palpatine is the root of corruption," she explained to them. She showed them the orders, and they all gasped when they saw order 66. "He's using the war to set a plot to destroy the Jedi, but will this evidence be enough?" Bail asked. "If we coordinate with the Jedi, it will be," Padme said confidently. The caucus agreed.
Anakin entered the Jedi Council Chambers, where the remaining Jedi Masters on Coruscant were seated. "Master Skywalker, I was just going to contact you, and tell you that Obi-Wan has engaged Grievous," Mace said. "That's good news, but I have more urgent matters. It's true, Palpatine is the Sith Lord we've been looking for," Anakin said. Mace looked at Anakin before speaking once more, "we are aware of the situation. We are about to head to the prison complex and release Dooku to testify with us. Master Fisto and I will protect him during his testimony," Mace finished. "I'll go gather with the Senators and meet you in the Senate Chambers," Anakin said and they all left.
Anakin met with Padme and the others as they were heading to the Senate Chambers. The look on Anakin's face said it all. "What is it Master Skywalker?" Padme asked formally. "I've just learned the painful truth about Palpatine. Not only is he behind the war, but he's a Sith Lord," he said, and the rest of the Senators with them gasped. "Now we know we need to have him removed from office," Bail said. They all nodded as they made their way to their Senate pods. When they entered the Senate Chambers, they noticed Palpatine wasn't present. "I saw Palpatine's contingency plan to eliminate the Jedi Anakin. If he's a Sith, and he's not here, then he may be planning to execute the order," Padme whispered. "Then I need to contact any Jedi not here, to locate Palpatine," Anakin replied.
Before that could happen, Padme moved her pod to the center of the Senate Chamber, as she began to speak. "As you are aware, the Republic has been engaged in an ongoing war with the Separatists with no end in sight. In recent days the Jedi have found evidence to suggest that Palpatine has been controlling the war from the beginning. Master Skywalker has evidence to support these claims, and so does the rest of the Jedi Order. I have investigated into this myself and uncovered some disturbing contingency orders, one of which involves the execution of the Jedi. Master Skywalker, would you give your testimony?" Senator Amidala asked.
Anakin nodded as he took the center of the pod. "During the siege of Coruscant, when Master Kenobi and I were sent to rescue the Chancellor, we had a duel with former Jedi Master turned Sith Count Dooku. During the duel, I managed to disarm Dooku as he was tiring. Chancellor Palpatine then told me to kill the defenseless Count, saying he was too dangerous to be left alive. Instead, I arrested him, because Jedi don't kill unarmed life forms, no matter their crimes. The next day the Council informed me that Palpatine wanted me to be his personal representative on the Jedi Council. I declined this; it didn't feel right to me. Earlier today, Palpatine told me about a Sith Legend he called the Tragedy of Darth Plagues the Wise. Palpatine is a Sith Lord, trying to manipulate the Republic," Anakin finished. The entire assembly broke into gasps. Some of shock and others of disbelief.
A pod containing Dooku, Mace, and Fisto then moved toward the Center, and Dooku gave his testimony. "It's true, all of it. Palpatine is a Sith Lord called Darth Sidious. I know this because I was his apprentice. He enlisted my help in creating the Clone Army. The Clones are embedded with inhibiter chips, that will turn them on their Jedi Generals when he gives the order. He then had me lead the Separatist side of the war, alongside General Grievous," Dooku finished. Now it was confirmed, and it was up to the Senate. "Now you see, you have heard and seen all of the evidence. I am calling on a vote of No confidence in Chancellor Palpatine, and I am asking you to remove him from his office," Senator Amidala called. Amazingly the Senate agreed and Palpatine was removed from office. He was charged for his crimes and sentenced to life in Carbon Freeze. All that was left now was to arrest him.
Master Yoda, Obi-Wan and all the other Jedi returned from their missions. Upon hearing the news, of Palpatine's removal from office, they moved along with Anakin to arrest Palpatine. When they couldn't find him, Dooku told them of a few hiding places he might be. Yoda, Plo Koon, Obi-Wan and Anakin found him in the industrial section as he was preparing to leave. Using the Force, Yoda and Anakin closed the gate, so Sidious couldn't escape. "Your war is over, now you are Under arrest," Anakin said. Sidious sent a wave of Sith lighting toward Anakin knocking him down. Yoda, Plo, and Obi-Wan ignited their Lightsabers, realizing that Sidious was going to fight this. Sidious let out a scream, as he challenged the Jedi Masters trying to catch them all off guard. All three Masters blocked his attack. Yoda challenged him, and a display of Green and Red clashed. Anakin got back up and kicked Sidious Lightsaber out of his hand. Sidious used another lighting attack, this time it was blocked. Obi-Wan came from behind and knocked out his other lightsaber while he was dealing with Anakin. Finally surrounded by the four Masters, Plo used his Electric Judgement to stop Sidious lightning attack and bring him down. Palpatine was arrested and taken to a Carbon Freezing chamber where he was frozen for all eternity.
Shortly after returning, Anakin took a time of leave from the Jedi order, to take Padme home to Naboo. There, she went into Labor and gave birth to Luke and Leia. The two were surrounded by their families. Obi-Wan surprised them with a visit, as he was still the only Jedi who knew about them. In a twist, Padme would be Nominated and elected the new Supreme Chancellor of the Republic, mostly for her efforts in ending Palpatine's war, and preventing his endless reign of tyranny. Luke and Leia would never be split up, they would spend endless time with both Padme's family, and Shmi and the Lars. Once old enough, Luke and Leia would be allowed to decide for themselves whether they wanted to follow the path of their Father in the Jedi Order, or their own path. Luke would follow in his father's path, joining the Jedi Order at a young age, and would be trained by his own father. As for Leia, once old enough, she would follow in her mother's footsteps, becoming the new Queen of Naboo.
In her first bill, Chancellor Amidala would put an end to Slavery across the entire Galaxy and welcome the outer rim planets to send representatives to join the Republic, with a promise to help all who are in need of it.
As for Anakin, he would remain in the Jedi Order continuing to keep the peace. Of course, he and Obi-Wan would be the first Jedi Chancellor Amidala would dispatch to help needy planets in the Galaxy with whatever they need, and if needed to bring criminals to justice.
That is the end of the story. I know it's a little different, but this is what I was feeling. I know that it seemed too easy for the Jedi to defeat Palpatine at the end, but there were four Masters, and these were arguably four of the most wise and powerful Masters in this timeline. I'm also aware that it takes away from Anakin's chosen one story, but Plo is the only Master to have ever mastered Electric Judgement, and I feel like a Sidious Plo Koon battle wouldn't be complete without seeing Plo Koon utilize the technique. I think that the Electric Judgement would overwhelm Palpatine, and at that point the Jedi would move in to arrest him. I like the premise of Padme becoming Chancellor at the end here. Everyone has Bail Organa, and while that is certainly a respectful option, in this story, Padme actually is the one who saves the Galaxy. It makes sense that she gets rewarded here by being elected Supreme Chancellor. She and Anakin will still be able to raise their Children, and they will have help from Obi-Wan and both of their families. This just seems like the perfect ending to this story.
What if Padme and Sabe had been able to free Shmi Skywalker? Part 2
Description: welcome to Part 2 of my first ever Star Wars Theory. In Part 1, we explored what would've taken place if Sabe had found and freed Shmi Skywalker in the Novel Queen's Shadow. In part 2 we will discuss how Shmi and the Lars being on Naboo changes the events in Attack of the Clones. Mostly, the second half of the film.
If you have not read Part 1 of this Fan theory, I recommend you read that first, before reading this part.
Since the beginning of Attack of the Clones pretty much goes the same minus the nightmares, we will start from the point where Anakin is assigned to escort Padme back to Naboo.
Padme voices her displeasure about leaving before a very important vote to Anakin as she packs for exile. "I do not like this idea of hiding. I've worked too hard on my stance against the Military Creation Act to not be here when it's fate is decided." Anakin speaks of understanding saying, "I understand how difficult it is to leave something that is important to you. I was worried too when I left my mother on Tatooine, but she was freed and everything is okay. Padme glared momentarily before responding, "this vote is not just about me Anakin, it's about the future of the republic. You don't have as strong an understanding in politics," she said as she continued to pack. "I trust that Obi-Wan will solve this quickly and everything will be alright. He is one of the best Jedi, as wise as Master Yoda, and Powerful as Master Windu," Anakin said trying to reassure her. "Anakin, you've grown up," she said. She had to admit, he was trying to understand. Anakin smiled at her to which Padme said, "please don't look at me like that." "Why not?" Anakin asked. Padme paused, she couldn't let him know that it was because she felt something for him, however, he was a Jedi, and chances are that he could sense what she was thinking anyway. She finally responded with, "it makes me feel uncomfortable," and turned away.
Obi-Wan tells Padme that he hopes to resolve this matter quickly and that she'll be back here in no time. He then turns to Anakin and orders him to stay on Naboo. It should be noted that while Anakin is Not aware yet that his mother has been living on Naboo for the last 6 years, he has Not been having nightmares about her. Without the nightmares, he would see no reason to leave Naboo. When Obi-Wan continues his lecture, Anakin cuts him off, "I don't see a reason why I would need to leave Naboo Master. You have my word I will stay there," Anakin said. Obi-Wan breathed a sigh of relief as Anakin walked away.
The conversation on the passenger ship takes a different dialog. Padme begins saying, "it must be very difficult having sworn your life to the Jedi. Not being able to do the things you like, or visit the places you like," "or be with the people that I love," Anakin finished. Before Padme could ask the question, Anakin continued," I did see my mother though. She appeared at the Jedi temple 6 years ago and told me she was free," he said. Padme thought, she knew Shmi had told him she had been freed by a friend, perhaps now was the time to tell Anakin the truth before they landed on Naboo. "I know where your mother is," Padme said. Anakin froze a moment. He remembered her saying that she would be somewhere safe, but if Padme knew where she was then that meant only one thing. "She's been living on Naboo since the moment she left Tatooine," she added. Anakin smiled; he didn't expect this. "How do you know all this?" He asked at last. "I had a friend of mine go to Tatooine on my behalf and find her. Turned out she had been sold to a moisture farmer named Cliegg Lars who freed her himself, then came to Naboo with her," she explained. It all made sense now and gave him even more reason to be happy he would be staying on Naboo.
When they landed, they went to the Palace first as happened in the film, but again the dialog changes. Anakin is the happiest he's been since he arrived at the Jedi temple, he knows he will see his mother while they are here, he has no reason to argue with Padme about where they should hide. So, when Governor Bibble asks Anakin, "what is your suggestion, Master Jedi?" It is Anakin who responds, "I'm still just a padawan learner, and I'm just happy to be here. Wherever Padme wants to stay is good with me." Padme smiles as she explains their plans. "We are going to visit our families first, Shmi will be surprised to see Anakin here, and he hasn't met the Lars family yet, then after that I was thinking we would stay in the lake country. There are some isolated places out there." The Queen nods and lets them on their way.
They go to Padme's residence first, where they are greeted by Padme's Nieces. When they go inside the first person to greet them is Padme's sister Sola. "Padme, it's good to see you." "It's good to see you too," she responds. Padme's mother, Jobal chimes in, "I hope you're hungry." "A little," Anakin responds. "He's being polite, we're starving," Padme interjects. During dinner Sola makes the comment, "Anakin you're the first boyfriend Padme has brought home." "He's not my boyfriend, he's a Jedi assigned to protect me by the Senate," Padme explained. Jobal cuts in, "a bodyguard, Padme they didn't tell us it was that serious." "It's not," Padme insists. Her father, Ruwee turns to Anakin, "is it really that serious?" "I'm afraid so," he says concerned.
After dinner Sola makes more comments about Anakin. "Why didn't you tell us about him?" "There is nothing to tell, he's just a boy," Padme explained. "Just a boy he's kind of cute. Have you seen the way he stares at you?" Sola teased. "Anakin and I are just friends, we've known each other for years," Padme said rolling her eyes. Though she couldn't deny Sola was telling the truth. The way he looked at her was certainly that of a man who was in love.
Meanwhile, outside Ruwee has a similar conversation with Anakin. "How serious is this with my daughter?" "Very serious I'm afraid. There have been two attempts on her life, and there could be more. My Master is investigating, and I promise we will not leave Naboo until the investigation is over," Anakin explains. Satisfied with Anakin's determination Ruwee changes the subject. "I can see that you care about her. Don't give up on her yet, if I know my daughter she will come around. Chances are she already feels the same way about you, she's just trying to hide it." Anakin smiles, as he promises Ruwee that he won't let anything happen to his daughter. They stay the night, deciding tomorrow they would visit Shmi.
That morning they say goodbye, and Padme takes Anakin to a farmhouse on Naboo. Anakin smiles as he sees his mother outside tending the garden as she always does. "Mom," Anakin says with a smile on his face. "Ani, this is a surprise, what are you doing here?" Shmi asks him. "There's been a couple of assassination attempts on Padme's life, I've been assigned to bring her home to hide out till my Master finishes his investigation," he explains. Shmi then turns to Padme, "I had heard about those. Are you okay?" "I'm doing alright, though I'd rather be back on Coruscant," Padme explains. "I'm just glad you're safe," Shmi says before turning back to Anakin. "Come in, there's some people I want you to meet," Shmi says and the two follow her. She takes Anakin inside, where he sees two men, one older, one about his age, and another woman. The older man speaks first, "Cliegg Lars, your mother's my wife," he explains, and Anakin shakes his hand. The younger man speaks next, "I'm Owen and this is my girlfriend Beru. I guess I'm your step-brother." Anakin nodded to the pair as he introduced himself. "I'm Anakin Skywalker, and I suppose you already know Padme," he says to them. They sit down to lunch, and Anakin tells them about his training in the Jedi temple and about his Master Obi-Wan and how they have formed a brotherly bond. "The Jedi are very strict in their ways. My Master Obi-Wan has always been very understanding. He sticks to the Jedi Code, but he tries to understand me. You might say we've formed a bond of brotherhood.
When they are finished Anakin goes to meditate. "Does he do that often?" Shmi asks Padme. "It's a very important Jedi ritual, Meditation is a big part of the Jedi life," she explains. "You feel something for him, don't you?" Shmi asked. Padme didn't know what to think. At this point she couldn't keep denying it, and Shmi was always kind and gentle. Perhaps maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to confide in Shmi. Without thinking she pulled the Japer out and spoke while holding it. "I've never taken this off since the moment Anakin gave it to me. It's very complicated though. The Jedi frown on attachments, it would be riskier for us to start a relationship then it was when I took you to the Jedi temple," Padme tried to explain. Shmi understood, but at the same time she wanted them both to be happy and knew they both made each other happy.
Later that night Anakin came out to talk to his mother alone. "Ani, is there something you want to talk about?" She asked gently. Anakin nodded without speaking, and immediately Shmi knew. "It's about Padme, I can tell. I could always tell, you felt something from the moment you met her," she suggested. "I've thought of her every day since we parted, and now that I'm around her again, she's all I think about. The Jedi are very strict, it's forbidden for a Jedi to fall in love or marry," he said. Shmi looked at him and smiled, "don't give up on it Ani. Perhaps the only people that need to know are those that are important to you and Padme," she said.
The next day Anakin and Padme went to the lake country she told him about. She spent the day showing him the beauty of Naboo, and Anakin enjoyed every moment of it. They had a picnic in the field, and Anakin asked her about her childhood. "You know about my upbringing as a slave, but I don't know much about yours. I want to know how you grew up," he said. Padme was happy to tell him. "Well, I grew up in a wealthy family, I suppose I always wanted to help people, but in my own way. When I was old enough, I started doing Ambassador missions with my dad. My mom always worried about me, but she knew it was what I wanted. I formed a close bond with the Rodians, and Senator Farr from Rodia became a close friend of my dad, and almost like an uncle to me." "How did you manage to have my mother brought to Naboo?" He asked. "My friend Sabe, who was a handmaiden and decoy of mine when I was Queen, went to Tatooine on my behalf. When she saw Watto, he told her he sold her to Cliegg Lars. After he freed her, he told her he wanted her to be safe and happy, and would go anywhere with her," Padme explained.
Later on, Padme would watch as Anakin tried to ride the animals. When he got bucked off, he tricked her into thinking he was hurt, before laughing. When they had dinner, Anakin showed off some of his Jedi tricks to her. Later he went out to the balcony. He was thinking about what his mother and Ruwee had told him about not giving up. I want to tell her, but how could this work? He thought. Padme joined him, "I Love the water," she said. "I do to I love the whole planet actually. I could see myself making a home here when I'm away from the Jedi temple," Anakin said. Without thinking he touched her arm, and she looked at him not knowing what to think herself. Before long Anakin spoke again. "From the moment I met you, all those years ago, a moment has not gone by that I haven't thought of you. Now that I'm with you, you're all I think about. I know what I am thinking is impossible, but here, now, in this moment I've never been happier. If you feel something as much as I do, please tell me." Padme thought for a moment about what Anakin was saying. She knew she couldn't deny it any more than he could. She hesitated, then pulling the Japer into her hand she responded. "I haven't taken this off since the moment you gave it to me. Every time I go by the Jedi temple, or meet with Shmi, you're not far from my mind either. We both know what we feel is forbidden, but I suppose that's what makes us want it more." Before Padme could continue Anakin leaned in and kissed her, and to his surprise she returned it. "Our families will have to be the only ones that know about us," Anakin said after they broke. Padme agreed and they went in for the night.
The next morning Anakin was awoke by a transmission from Obi-Wan. "Anakin, glad I could get you. Listen, Coruscant is too far for me to reach, I need you to re-transmit this message to Coruscant." Anakin was re-transmitting the message when Padme entered. "I have tracked the Bounty hunter Jango Fett to the planet of Geonosis, and discovered that Nute Gunray of the Trade Federation is behind the assassination attempts of Senator Amidala. I have also discovered that Count Dooku has created a Sepratist coalition, and they are building a-" before Obi-Wan could finish his message he was ambushed by destroyer droids and taken captive. It was Mace Windu who responded, "we will deal with Dooku, the most important thing for you to do is stay where you are. Protect the Senator at all cost, that is your first priority." The transmission ended, and Padme looked at him with worry.
"We should contact your family, let them know what Obi-Wan found," Anakin suggested. Padme wanted to tell him they should help Obi-Wan, but before she could get a word out, her parents arrived at the lake house, accepting the invitation of Anakin quickly. "I have news for you. My Master has found who was behind the assassination attempts of your daughter. It's Viceroy Nute Gunray of the Trade Federation," he said. Her parents shuddered at the news. "I should have figured that. He couldn't leave well enough alone, he did enough damage 10 years ago," Jobal commented. Padme finally interjected, "Anakin, Obi-Wan is in danger, and the Jedi will never get to Geonosis in time, they have to travel halfway across the Galaxy. We could get there in half the time." "I'm not putting you in danger," Anakin said. "Anakin, are you just going to sit here and let him die? He's your friend, your mentor," "he's like a brother to me. But Master Windu gave me strict orders to stay here," Anakin finished. Before Padme could argue any further Jobal intervened, "I agree with your Jedi friend Padme, your father and I don't want you going back into a war zone. If you go to help your friend that could be what you end up getting into." Padme thought hard, she hated the thought of getting involved in another war. She also dreaded the thought of Anakin losing someone he'd grown close to. "Obi-Wan is a powerful and wise Jedi Padme, I believe he will be alright till the Jedi can help him," Anakin said trying to reassure her. "Alright we won't go, we'll stay here where we'll be safe, "Padme said. Her Parents breathed a sigh of relief.
As they were getting ready to head back home, Padme stopped them, "wait. There's something I should tell you, but this has to stay between us," Padme said. Ruwee and Jobal turned back to look at their daughter. "Sola was right about us. Anakin and I we do have feelings for each other. It's not going to be easy, but we've decided to try and have a secret relationship. "We are so happy for you two. Although to be truthful, it wasn't that hard to see," Jobal commented. Ruwee turned to Anakin, "looks like you took my advice about not giving up." "I also talked to my mother about it as well. Actually, speaking of my mother, I think she also needs to know about this," Anakin said. He used his com link to contact her. She came to the lake house as soon as she could. "You sounded so urgent Ani, what is it," Shmi asked. "Don't worry mom, it's nothing bad. I just thought you'd like to know that Padme and I are going to try a secret relationship," he explained. Shmi smiled, "your happiness is all I ever wanted for you Anakin."
The rest of Attack of the Clones ends the same way. I believe that whether Anakin and Padme went to rescue Obi-Wan or not, the outcome in the battle of Geonosis would've been the same. They would've used the Aklay to try to kill Obi-Wan, who would've been wise enough to let the leg free him from his chain and hold off until Windu and the Jedi came. They would've been outnumbered by the battle droids, but because Palpatine would still obtain emergency powers, Yoda would come in with the Clone Army in time to rescue Obi-Wan and the remaining Jedi. The duel between Dooku and Obi-Wan would've happened the same way, but without Anakin to help him he would be disarmed quicker. Yoda would still arrive in time to save Obi-Wan, and Dooku would still escape.
As for Anakin and Padme, they would have a secret wedding at the Lake country while on Naboo, but with both Anakin and Padme's families in attendance. Both families would promise not to share the secret with anyone else in the Republic.
That is part 2. I realize there's a lot more details and interactions between the two and their families, but keep in mind, that I believe Anakin would've told Shmi about his feelings for Padme. I also believe that in this scenario, it would make sense that if one family is aware of the relationship and eventual marriage, the other family would be as well. They both would've struggled to keep the secret from everyone, which they essentially did through the Clone Wars and in Revenge of the Sith. Having both of the families know about the secret marriage, takes a bit of the weight off of the secret, as they both now have people they can go to when they have worries, like Anakin will when he has his nightmares about Padme in Revenge of the Sith. The final part, Part 3, will dive deeper into the changes that would occur during Revenge of the Sith.

What if Padme and Sabe had been able to Free Shmi Skywalker. Part 1
Description: In Attack of the Clones, the Death of Anakin's mother is the start of his path to Darth Vader. In the novel Queen's Shadow, after Padme is appointed the new Senator of Naboo, she asks Sabe to go and try to free some of the slaves on Tatooine, in particular Shmi Skywalker. Both because of Shmi's kindness when they were on Tatooine 4 years ago, and because it's believed that she cared about Anakin from the moment they met. We are going to explore what would've happened if Sabe had been successful in finding and freeing Shmi Skywalker. How would this change the events of the galaxy? As you will see everything changes.
We will start shortly after Padme is appointed Senator of Naboo, 4 years after the events of The Phantom Menace.
Padme stood on the Balcony of the Lakehouse. It was her last day before she would head to Coruscant to begin her duties as Senator of Naboo. Her number one handmaiden, Sabe approached her. "I have a favor to ask of you," Padme said. "You know I will have your back, and do anything for you my lady," Sabe replied. "This is dangerous, but it's something that is very important to me. I want to free the slaves on Tatooine. There is one slave in particular that I want to help. Her name is Shmi Skywalker," she paused, her hand reaching toward the Japer around her neck that Anakin had carved and given her on their way to Coruscant. "Her and her son showed me kindness when we landed there four years ago and I want to help her," she said at last. Sabe smiled, deep down she knew Padme was thinking just as much about Anakin but wouldn't say so. "I will have Captain Tonra go with me, and we will give our best effort to find her," she replied. Padme thought for a moment. She really wanted this to be successful, and she knew Mos Espa was a big spaceport. Perhaps I should tell her who to look for, that could make the difference, she thought. "When we landed at Mos Espa four years ago, Shmi and Anakin were under the ownership of a Toydarian junkshop owner named Watto," Padme explained. "Then that is where we will start," Sabe promised. They embraced, then they went back inside to join the others. It was, after all the last day they would all be together before they went off to start their next journeys.
"I'm not so sure about this," Captain Tonra commented when Sabe told him the plan. "I know it could be dangerous, but Padme gave me acceptable payment for the freedom of some slaves in Mos Espa on Tatooine. She is my friend, and if this is what she wants, I will help her," she countered. "I guess there's no talking you out of this. Very well," Tonra reluctantly agreed. Soon enough they were in hyperspace on their way to Tatooine. "What exactly do you plan to do with any slaves you are able to free?" Tonra asked. "Padme has been in talks with the other mid rim world's, she said that they would give the freed slaves somewhere to stay and work," she replied.
A few hours later they landed in the same spot Captain Panaka landed on Tatooine four years ago, on the outskirts of Mos Espa. Their first stop was the junkshop Padme visited when they were here. The Toydarian appeared out of the back but wasn't sure what to think of Sabe and Tonra. "What can I help you with?" Watto asked. "Get the payment and set it on the counter," Sabe told Tonra, and he obliged. "We were hoping this would be enough to cover for the freedom of Shmi Skywalker," Sabe explained. Watto looked at the Whoopi sitting on the counter, then looked at them with a sad look on his face. "Shmi is not mine no more. I sold her months ago," Watto explained. Sabe looked at him with sadness. This was important to Padme; she couldn't fail now. She looked back at Watto and asked, "who did you sell her to?" "I sold her to a moisture farmer named Lars," he explained. "Can you tell me where they are?" Sabe asked. The Toydarian thought for a moment, then spoke, "I believe they're on the other side of Mos Eisley." Sabe looked at Tonra before thanking Watto for his help. The two then went back to their ship. "We will have to change course. If Shmi is in Mos Eisley, then that is where we will have to free slaves from," Sabe said. Tonra didn't argue with her, and they left off for the outskirts of Mos Eisley spaceport.
Padme was just getting back to her apartment, when she received a transmission. It was Sabe. "Sabe how is it going over there?" She asked. "We hit a bit of a roadblock, it seems Watto no longer owns Shmi," Sabe explained. "What are we going to do?" Padme asked with a sad look on her face. She felt her hand creep back to the japer again. She had to free Shmi, it was the least she could do for the mother and son who showed her such kindness during her most difficult time. "Don't worry my lady, we have that covered already. Watto said he sold her to a moisture farmer on the other side of Mos Eisley. We won't stop until we find her," Sabe promised. Padme's smile returned as the transmission ended.
It took a while, but Sabe and Tonra finally managed to find the moisture farm of the Lars. A woman was outside when they approached. When she looked up, she recognized the clothes Sabe was wearing and smiled. "You look familiar to me," she said as Sabe approached. "I think you are thinking of my friend Padme," Sabe explained. "That name is familiar to me, I'm Shmi Skywalker," she said at last. A moment later a mid-aged man came out. "Who's out here?" He asked. "Cliegg, it's a friend of someone I met briefly a time ago," she explained. "I'm Sabe, I was Queen Amidala's decoy the last time we were here. I came on behalf of Padme, to ask about buying the freedom of Shmi Skywalker and as many other slaves as possible," she explained. The man looked at her with a grin. "Cliegg Lars, and buying her freedom won't be necessary," he said with a smile. Sabe was confused, then he continued. "I was going to free Shmi myself so I can Marry her," he explained. Shmi smiled, as Sabe pulled out her holo transmitter. "I have to tell Padme, she will be pleased," Sabe said sending a transmission. Soon enough Padme appeared once again. "Any luck?" she asked. Shmi stepped over to the holo image and Padme smiled. "You found her. That's wonderful," she said. "It's good to see you again Padme," Shmi said with a smile. "This is Cliegg Lars, he has already offered to free me," she continued. "I'm glad you will be free Shmi, now you will be able to leave, and maybe someday see Anakin again," Padme said with a smile. Shmi thought about it for a moment. She had never really thought about leaving Tatooine, it had been her home for so long. Now, the opportunity was there, and she knew more than anyone else that Anakin would always worry about her. She also loved Cliegg and his family. What if they don't want to leave their home world? She thought. Before she could give an answer, Cliegg spoke again, "I Love you Shmi, I'm freeing you so you can come and go as you please. I want you to be happy and safe. You've told me much about Anakin, wherever you want to go, we will go with you," he said at last. "Where will we go?" She asked at last. "I talked about this with the Queen before I left for the Senate, she told me if we found and freed you, you would be welcomed on Naboo," Padme explained. The Lars and Shmi agreed, and packed up what little they had. After freeing twenty slaves, Sabe and Tonra went back to Naboo.
The freed slaves were welcomed on various different worlds in the Mid rim, but Shmi and the Lars made their home in a farm house on Naboo, where they would do farm work to help provide food for the Naboo. A month after arriving, with help from Sabe, Cliegg rented a lake house where he and Shmi Married, with Owen in attendance.
It would be a few months before Senator Amidala would visit Shmi. Shmi was outside tending to the garden when Padme approached. "Senator Padme, I'm surprised to see you," she said. "The Senate is on leave, so the Senators can go home, discuss what's going on with their governments, and visit their families. I was just visiting with my parents and sister, and decided to come check on you," Padme explained. "That's very kind of you, we've settled in well," Shmi said. "That's good to hear," Padme said. Shmi invited her in, and they talked for a bit. "Your friend was kind enough to rent one of your lake houses to Cliegg for our wedding," Shmi explained. "Congratulations, I'm so happy for your family," Padme commented. Soon the conversation shifted, as Padme wanted to tell Shmi how Anakin was the hero of Naboo, showing her and holding the Japer he carved her, as she told the story. "You know the pod race wasn't the only way Anakin helped us," Padme started. "When the Senate failed to hear our pleas for help, the Jedi along with Anakin accompanied us back here. Anakin was in the cockpit of one of our star fighters, when he knocked out destroyer droids. Then he took that star fighter up, and destroyed the Droid control ship, shutting down all the battle droids. He saved us," she finished. Shmi smiled hearing the story, she always knew Anakin was meant for great things.
As she was telling that story, she felt a desire to try and reunite Shmi and Anakin. She had an idea in mind, but getting passed the Jedi council would be a problem. She knew the Jedi frowned on attachments, and knew it would be tricky, but she had to try. When they were alone she spoke. "I want you to come to Courscant with me," she said. "Anakin has been training at the Jedi temple ever since he helped us years ago. I know he would be happy to see you again," Padme said. Shmi agreed and smiled.
When they got to Coruscant, Padme took Shmi to her apartment. "Shmi is going to stay with us, at least till we go back to Naboo again, she explained to her handmaidens and guards. Padme then took a moment and concentrated. She wasn't force sensitive, but perhaps she might be able to tell if Anakin was at the temple or not. She had at least enough of a sense that someone she was familiar with was at the temple. "I'm taking a chance doing this, but I'm going to take you to the Jedi temple. There's a possibility Anakin will be there," Padme said.
With one guard, Shmi got in the speeder and Padme took her to the Jedi temple. Padme's sense was right, Anakin was there outside. Padme hid herself enough that she wouldn't be seen, before Anakin turned and saw his mother for the first time since he was freed. "Ani," Shmi said with a smile. "Mom, what are you doing here," Anakin asked confused. "I was found by one of your friends, and freed by a moisture farmer. I'm free just like you," she said as he hugged her. Anakin smiled, he was happy. Now, he didn't have to worry about his mother anymore.
The moment was interrupted by his Master. "Anakin, what is going on here?" Obi-Wan asked. "I'm sorry Master, my Mom found me," Anakin said. Obi-Wan looked for a moment before greeting her. "I'm Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin's Master. It's good to see that you are alright, but you really shouldn't be at the temple. If any other Jedi Master were to see you, it could cause problems for Anakin," Obi-Wan explained. He understood Shmi wanting to see her son again, but he also didn't want either one to get in trouble. Shmi looked at Anakin and said," I'm sorry I can't stay, but you don't have to worry about me. I am somewhere safe. She then turned to Obi-Wan and said," Thank You for helping my son," before turning back to the speeder. Padme waited till Obi-Wan and Anakin were gone, then hopped in the speeder and went back to the apartment.
When they got back, Padme apologized, "I'm sorry, I knew there was a risk taking you there." "It's quite alright, I was at least able to see my son, and now that he knows I'm okay, I don't think he will worry about me as much anymore," she responded. "I know, but you're probably not going to be able to go back to the temple to see Anakin, and he won't be able to come see you. Perhaps, now you would be better off going back to Naboo," she said at last. Shmi agreed, and Padme sent some of her guards to accompany Shmi back to Naboo.
From here Shmi, Cliegg, and Owen would stay at their farm on Naboo, and the rest of the events that took place during the Queen's Shadow novel would go as they happened. The Trade Federation would use the holo news nets to mess with the beginning of Padme's career in the Senate. Padme would make friends with Mina Bonteri, and join Bail Organa's comity. Padme's Mid Rim bill proposal would pass through the Senate, with aid for Bromlarch.
That's part 1. I decided it would be easier to split this into three parts. Part 2 will be the events from Attack of the Clones, and Part 3 will be the events from Revenge of the Sith.
My thoughts on Jeff.
First of all, it is very upsetting to me, seeing all the memes and jokes on Facebook and Twitter about Jeff Hardy. What he did, and is going through is Not a Joke, it's Not funny, and making a mockery of it just makes things worse. He could've killed someone, let alone himself.
Now, the real issue at hand. With Jeff I think it's more than just him being an alcoholic and addict. I think Jeff has CTE, and he's likely had it for a while. Stop and think, he's been wrestling since he was 16 years old, and he's been taking shots and bumps to the head with his hard-core style, since 1999. With the discovery that even small bumps to the head can cause brain damage, and the number of concussions he's had in his wrestling career, it feels inevitable that he would develop CTE. I think half the time Jeff doesn't know what he's doing because he can't think straight. He and Matt even said, that Jeff did not remember what he did at Double or Nothing. That in itself should be a sign that Jeff's brain is not right. He needs more than just treatment for addiction. He needs neurological treatment.
While, I will admit that I wanted to see the Hardys reunite one more time, it did Not need to happen. I feel Jeff cares so much more about his fans than he does himself, and for once in his life, I wish he would shut us out and look inside himself to do what he himself truly wanted to do. I think that Jeff let's others influence his decisions, including his own brother and for once, should listen to his body. Jeff Needs to step away, and save what's left of his brain. I hope that he can come to that decision before it's too late.
Last bit of note, if Tony Khan wants AEW to succeed, he needs to do what both the NFL and WWE did and ban headshots. With what is now known about concussions and brain trauma, not to mention him being the son of an NFL team owner, he should know better. There is no reason for any sport to allow hits to the head.
⭐ Kayla Braxton, Jeff Hardy, Brock Lesnar ⭐
Jeff is clearly star struck. I think deep down he knows he still wants to have that match with Brock Lesnar. He looks like a 44 yr old fan boy.

Anyone else notice that this attempt at the ToF is actually more of an RKO?
Hey Tumblr followers. So, I haven't done any fan fictions for a while. I'm thinking about starting some up now though. I've been watching a lot of videos about Star Wars, particularly What if this happened different? It got me thinking, why stop with just Star Wars, when there are plenty of What ifs in both Fiction and real life. So, I'm going to start writing my own What If fictions. The main ones I will do is Star Wars, The Hardy Boyz, and maybe even some Power Rangers.
Let me know what you want to see. The top ones for me to write are: What if Lita never cheated on Matt Hardy? I think we all want to know what would've happened there. And What if Jeff Hardy never broke his collar bone in his first major motor bike crash? Would he still have been a Wrestler, or would he have become a Pitcher in MLB? So, let me know what you want to see. This could get interesting.
Here's a pattern that scares me. This is the Rollercoaster of Jeff Hardy's life the last decade.
2009 trouble with Substance abuse, leaves WWE.
2011 victory road goes to rehab.
2015 knocks himself out on the steps after a dangerous fall, and then breaks his leg in a Bike accident.
2017, tears his shoulder at the end of September.
2019 tears his knee entirely relapses with alcohol, back in rehab.
2021 gets Covid.
Odd number years are very bad for this man. The only good odd number year he's had in the last decade, was 2013. When will this trend of bad luck in odd number years end for Jeff Hardy? I just feel so bad for him. He works so hard in 2020 to redeem himself, goes the whole year without contracting Covid, and the crowds finally come back, and he gets Covid. It's just not fair. He doesn't deserve this. Even if it's a mild to asymptomatic case, it's still an inconvenience, and a concern for his family.
So, WWE switched Hell in a Cell with MITB, because they want MITB to be in front of a live crowd. I have a possible theory for that. Lately they've been jobbing Jeff since he came back from his off time to deal with the passing of his dad. Rumors are that they're waiting till Jeff gets his theme back, in front of a live crowd to give him a push. The one accomplishment Jeff doesn't have, that he should is now going to be in front of a live crowd. Here's where I'm going with this.
Jeff could get his theme back at Summerslam. They finally start pushing him, and he qualifies for MITB. They have Jeff Win the MITB Ladder match in front of a live crowd. Jeff cashes in, hopefully on Edge at Wrestlemania 38. I hope this is what happens.
I'm only watching Raw to see if the commentators are going to send condolences to Jeff for his Dad. I don't expect Jeff to be on Raw tonight probably not even next week. They should at least send some positive wishes his way.
The Main Event
At this close up angle, it looks like she's taking a page from Jeff Hardy with those Hair colors. Maybe she was upset that he's not on the card, and was trying to make up for it.
