— “I don’t do relationships. They always end badly.”
banditborn:
He reached a hand up to rub his neck, feeling already like a burden despite her wanting to help him so badly. “It’s fine, I will just put my old clothes back on and wash them when I’m back at home. Just gonna check if there is anything hurt.” He patted his body, already knowing that there was nothing hurt there.
He gave his chest a pet, smirking at her.
Then he got up, looking around. “I assume your bath is upstairs?” Bandit pointed a finger up at the ceiling before he noticed all the dried blood covering his nails and the tips. He put his hand back down, looking at her expectantly.
“Nonsense, you’ll be staying here tonight so that I can keep an eye on you. What kind of medical professional would I be if I let you wander off when you could be in shock or concussed?” Harley fixed him with a pointed look, that simply said that this was non-negotiable.
“The shower is down the hall. I left the door open, and there’s a red towel in there. Please don’t use my white one.” She gestured for him to follow her through the flat. “The dressing gown is folded up and hanging off the sink. I’ll put the heat on so you don’t get cold.”

pandateddyclaws:
“Oh!” (At the mention of learning her way around Panda hopped and bumped her head off the bus, wincing but shaking it off quickly.) “I could show you around! To pay you back for the bus fare!” (It would be the weekend so no fear of missing classes and it’d save her feeling guilty for not paying for herself she’d no doubt feel looking back on this meeting.)
“I know where to get the best tea in town. In my opinion anyway, they also do coffee and pastries. (Hands lifting she began to gesture blindly as she spoke, eyes up to the left as she tried to remember where everything was.)
“Oh and there’s a nice Italian restaurant a little in ways in town near the library, its a little expensive and I’ve only been twice but the vegetable lasagna and the carbonara are both super good. Ah but you probably get foreign food like that all the time! There’s ramen stalls along the main street, we probably passed some smaller ones already and there’s a sushi bar close to the college-OH-Oh and there’s this boutique across from the old crane fountain that has some really pretty tops and dresses kind of like what you’re-” (At this point her gaze had moved to Harley’s arm, staring at her sleeve before looking up and then down at her own feet. A small laugh and she scratched her cheek embarrassed.)
“Sorry um what I mean is, I know my way around if you’d like a tour guide or something.”
Panda was such an excitable person, and it was adorable. She wasn’t used to seeing this kind of joy or excitement, though she did notice how the girl constantly cut herself off when she started to talk emotively. It was probably a byproduct of being told that nobody cared what she had to say, or having a much more vocal and stifling peer that always talked over her. Maybe some kind of- Ah, no, she wasn’t here to analyse this girl.
“No no, you don’t need to apologise for that. I’m flattered you seem so eager.” It was true. It didn’t seem like a simply courteous gesture - it seemed like she genuinely wanted to.
So how could Harley say no?
“I’d love to.”
“Perhaps you could meet me at my bus stop tomorrow at twelve?”
pandateddyclaws:
“A psychiatrist?” (Rocking unsteadily as the bus took off the pale girl caught herself and scooted back a bit more so she could lean against the back wall. Psychiatry sounded like a difficult job and when she thought of what one might look like Panda imagined a plump woman like a friendly aunt or mother. Harley didn’t strike her as someone who dealt with people and yet their conversation had been flowing effortlessly and she had felt at ease in the older woman’s presence. Maybe she was thinking of therapists.)
“By specialist do you mean like, taking foreign patients or are there specific psychiatrists for different problems?” ( A blink and a new question popped up.)
”Wait so does that mean you’re a doctor?” (For some reason doctor fit better in her head.)
She didn’t mind the questions, and she let the girl finish before thinking of how best to reply. She’d be honest, though she’d also be clinical about what she did - detached. There was no need for details.
“Yes, to be a psychiatrist you have to become a doctor too. However, you can specialise in certain areas after that if you wish to. Although I am qualified to treat anybody, I tend to treat patients for very specific problems that a lot of other people are not qualified to handle.” It wasn’t just a matter of them being qualified. It was a matter of having the stomach for it.
“I don’t have to start over here for three days though, so I have some time to kill. I’ll probably try to learn my way around.”
banditborn:
He looked around, smelling tea and old books in the air. That was the kind of smell Bandit considered typical for a british household, if you wanted to trust the stereotypes that is. He liked it though. When she pointed him to the lounge, he kept looking around, finding himself awfully curious about this woman and her place.
“Nice house!” He called out before plopping onto the sofa.
He was tempted to grab a cigarette but wasn’t sure if she liked people smoking in here - so he decided not to and merely decided to wait for her to return. With an annoyed huff, he wiped at the blood on his jacket. Completely ruined.
After a moment Harley appeared in the doorway, having just put her case in her bedroom to deal with later. She’d normally unpack immediately, but she was hardly about to leave the poor man sitting on her sofa while she unpacked. “I’m going to turn the shower on for you, alright? I don’t have clothes for you, but I do have a very big dressing gown. It might be a bit tight, but it’s the best I can offer until I can wash your clothes.”
A pause.
“Obviously you don’t have to stay at all, but I’d like to help you.” She’d found him in a puddle of blood, after all.
pandateddyclaws:
(The girl blinked with a dumbfound expression. Okay the UK was…the joined kings or something right? And France was the one with the big clock tower, no wait it was the Eiffel tower. It had been a while since she learned geography and it took a good solid minute for her to remember where theses places were.)
“So you’re a European?” (That was correct right?) “Ah, no unfortunately. I’d like to try traveling after college but I just don’t have the time.” (Or funds but she wasn’t so shameless to discuss money troubles with a stranger. Though she had to admit Harleen was quickly becoming an interesting woman she’d want to be friends with.
The bus stopped and a few people got off, one or two getting on in their place. Panda checked the stop and ticked it off in her head for how much longer the journey would last.)
“May I ask what your job is?” (A model or CEO she assumed.)
“I’m European, yes.” Harley looked amused at the deduction, finding the girl charming. “I have a duel citizenship between England and France.” The mention of college put Harley at ease, somewhat. She felt less creepy, talking to Panda if she was attending college. Not that her age really mattered. She wouldn’t have cared. It was a shame about her not getting to travel, though. Maybe she would one day. “Ah, my job?” Despite people getting off, Harley didn’t move to sit down. She seemed content to hold on to the rail, keeping her case behind her legs and out of the way.
“I’m a specialist psychiatrist.” There was no need to delve into it further than that. No need to say that the patient that she was in Japan to treat had recently been in the news, having been rescued from a serial killer’s basement after being kept there for 17 long, agonising months.

justicebound:
“Oh, yes. Tea would be great,” he smiled at the ready set up tea, finding it was beneficial to calming down into his day-to-day life it seemed only appropriate it would help in this setting to.
He tried to feel more relaxed, more like he was at home. He tried to convince himself the tea helped.
It did not.
With dutiful attention he nodded along to everything Harley said, vocalising his understanding, agreement or consent whenever necessary.
By the time she was done he was half way through his tea.
“May I voice a concern, doctor?” he spoke up while she wrote down some information on his behalf.
The formalities were, for the most part, fairly bland. Still, she was glad that they were out of the way, and Ryu had been nothing but patient and attentive the entire time. She was just finishing up writing down his response to her last question when he spoke again, and she glanced up at him with a smile - more than happy to let him say whatever he wanted. If he initiated anything, it was a positive in her eyes.
“Of course.”
“What is it?”
banditborn:
He rose an eyebrow at the offer. It was already surprising that she stopped by to check on him and now she offered him inside, despite what he was currently looking like. This woman was apparently seeking a thrill or a near death experience.
Bandit was about to make a comment as he was silenced due to hands on either side of his head. He seemed confused at the action but let her continue, it seemed like something medical..
He got up, still confused by her actions so far. “Huh, thanks. Pretty kind of you. I won’t be botherin’ ya for long.”
Harley stood up in one fluid motion, reaching a hand out to steady him as he stood. She doubted that she could actually support him if he did topple over, seeing as he was quite simply huge compared to her, but she’d do her best to try. “I just live over there.” She pointed across the road, two a cute little two-story building with a heavy brown door. It looked like the kind of fire door you’d find in a school, with two long meshed windows running through it and a metal panel across the bottom. It stood out, against the almost old-fashioned design of the building itself. “My flat’s on the ground floor, so don’t worry about stairs.”
She took a hold of the handle of her case with one hand, keeping the other hovering by his back as she guided him towards her flat. It didn’t take long to get in - she swiped her key fob against the door and then held it open for him, leading him to a front door that had a metal number 3 hammered into it. Like the front door, it had the same metal panel across the bottom of it. She clicked it open and allowed him to head inside first. “Just take a left at the end of the hall, and you’ll find the lounge. You can sit on the sofa, I can clean it.” Harley closed the door behind them with a soft click, flicking the light on a moment later. The hallway was painted white, and so was the rest of the flat. The accents were black and silver.
@harleendelka Healer verse Harley needs love and starbucks.
(( Was Harley ever tempted to poison Bandit with the food she made him? And did she ever actually go through with it but dump the food before he ate it?))
ooc.
She wasn’t exactly ‘tempted,’ though it did cross her mind sometimes when he had her cooking. He killed people, so by all accounts, killing him would stop that. He wasn’t letting her leave. She would have saved so many people. Harley never would have done it. She always rationalised his point of view and his actions, justifying them to herself. Excusing, trying to keep herself sane. He had to keep her locked in the apartment, because she knew too much (and she had agreed, even if she hadn’t fully known what she had agreed to). He liked her. He was just different - wired differently. He didn’t deserve to be vindicated for that. He deserved love, like anybody else. She liked looking after him.Alongside that, she became accepting of his worldview. Harley’s ability to empathise with anyone was most of the reason why, and she did like him a lot. Could probably fall in love with him. They’d been dating prior, after all.
