Seran 📩 Harley
Seran: Hi Harley, it’s Seran.
Harley: Hi.
Harley: What's up?
@kit-mitchell
It’d been nerve-wracking, to go out on a date. When was the last time she’d done something that hadn’t been a PR stunt set up by her agent to garner more attention? Now more than ever, she wanted to ride under the radar, escape the silence that echoed behind the photographs. And the pressing thoughts of him, as she sat in her living room. Music sheets before her, a half-finished album before her. Words lost. What was wrong with her?
Finding her time wasted, memory flooded and emotions running in directions she could not control, she could only think of one thing to do. Reaching for her phone, contemplating even dialling. Even suggesting it—was it nerves? Stepping out of a comfort zone she resided in so easily over the years. Shaking her head, she hit his name, and lifted the phone, awaiting his voice on the other end. “Hey, Kit? It’s—It’s Harley. Did you maybe… uh, wanna do dinner tonight? Get out of Jericho for a little bit?”
kit-mitchell:
A smirk graced his face as she turned red. Was her reaction due to him or the alcohol. Or both? Either way, this interaction seemed to verge incredibly close to what one could consider a flirty conversation. Kit was out of practice too. Maybe it was a good thing she was tipsy. “Strong drinks, repeat customers and it’s on the house definitely sounds like Kass’ business model. I’m actually not sure how we’re still in business.” He chuckled, shaking his head slightly. “If I still had my top jar, I’d help you out, but it wasn’t pretty enough apparently.” Another chuckle. A real chuckle. He hadn’t been in a mood like this in a long time, at least since coming back to Jericho. His eyes flickered up at Harley, very interested in her proposition. “Maybe something nicer than a burger? Like… a nice Chinese restaurant a couple towns over?” He suggested, deciding to go for it. There was little confidence behind his ask though… He wasn’t very good at this either.
Maybe it was playing with fire, the thought that Kit—of all people—would’ve irked, crawled under the skin of the man who’d broken her. Maybe she wanted a fresh start. Maybe she could’ve found herself to like him, she’d done so well enough already. He made her smile… it felt so long since it’d been genuine. Ignoring the pressing thoughts, as she shrugged. “Somewhere outside of Jericho?” She asked, brows raised. “I would—I think I’d love that.” How ironic—two people who sought to escape the place they called home. The corners of her lips pulled, as she lifted the burger. “Besides, Chinese food sounds great—I appreciate the effort, but this does not look very good.” She raised the plate, small chuckle broke under her breath. “I’ll—I’ll let you do your thing, but—this is my number. Just… message me if you do want to get out of tow for a little bit. See you, Kit.”

novafitzgerald:
Nova had been parked on a bar stool in the establishment almost all evening, an untouched drink sitting before her. She wasn’t a fan of the place or the people in it, but she had needed a night away. Thankfully, she managed to find a nanny last minute to watch her daughter while she headed off to enjoy the holiday festivities. Though now that she was ‘out’ and supposed to be enjoying herself, all Nova could think about was going back home and crawling into bed with her baby and letting the sound of Moana playing a thousand times drown out the incessant drone of fireworks. “A whole bottle?” She gave the woman next to her a wise smile, happy to see someone in this bar actually having a good time, “Seems like n’ awful lot for a lil’ gal like you.”
Harley looked up, as the sound of a new voice broke her attention from paying the bartender. “Oh,” She murmured, hands gripping the base, as she slowly shrugged her shoulders in an almost lazy way. “To be honest, I didn't plan on coming. And then when I did plan on coming, I didn't plan on drinking. But now... being in here with some people, I figured being drunk was better than being sober and nervous.” Nails drummed against the base of the bottle as she stood in thought. “Is that bad?” It was a brotherhood place, but being formally married to the President gave her a wracking of nerves she wasn't even aware she held.
charliexwells:
“Could you?” Charlie questioned naively, brows scrunching together for emphasis, lips pursed forward too as though trying really hard to remember if the fact were true. “Isn’t there something about alcohol being bad for singers? With their vocal chords? At least you’re not just drinking vodka sodas to ‘keep the weight off.’” Something she’d witnessed in other cities in different bars with different women outside of Jericho. “Yes’m.” Charlie saluted teasingly before swinging a leg around to stalk over to the table. Another was eyeing it, and with great purpose, Charlie sat in it, pointing over to Harley King. Realizing who she was, the other let them have the spot, and the blonde relished in her mini triumph of the day. “To America–live long and prosper.” A little bit of too much dry sarcasm in the phrase, but Charlie sprinkled her lime with salt before clinking the shot glass against Harley’s and downing it with a chomp of salted lime before she had a chance to make a face. “That’s a good question.” She hummed as she surveyed the room, feeling right back in the same place she’d always been before leaving. “Guess the big world didn’t want a small town girl with small stories.”
“I don't know, but I'm going to try.” She murmured, casting a glance in the direction of the man who spurned her time here into a tidal wave of nonsense. “There is. But when you only drink once in a blue moon, when your agent is out of town and won't return until next Saturday, you've basically got free reign to do as you please until they come back and make you get your shit in gear.” It wasn't all glamour, being a musician, with a well-enough known name. They wanted more. You either divulged everything to the general public, or nothing, and they'd chase you down. Another tidal wave of her life. Clinking glasses, as she too took the shot, eyes scrunched from the bitter taste. Setting the glass down, filling another, as she stalled for the moment. “They didn't want the small stories, or you didn't want to tell them?” There'd be a notion of understanding, that thought that which Charlotte had things to say... but what was there to say about Jericho? “Well, so long as you're not selling secrets about me to TMZ—you can do anything you want.” And that, she raised her shot glass once more. “To dreams... and whenever the hell they'll start working out.”
sxphiakim:
“Yeah…I understand…” Her voice trailed off as she remembered her encounter with Seran in the parking lot. The way his gun pointed towards her and—Sophia shook away the thought and suppressed the anger she had that night. It was the Fourth and she wanted a well deserved break, therefore she was going to do her best to celebrate. “—Except I have to remain sober.” She flashed Harley a sheepish smile and declared, “I don’t drink, but you can gladly take those shots for me.” At the singer’s gratitude, the paramedic’s gaze softened as she nodded in understanding. “No worries!…What matters is that you’re back on your feet stronger than ever! I’m so glad that you’re okay!”
It was hard being here. Too hard. Everywhere she looked, every corner bore memories from a life that felt unlike her own, like some dream she stayed in for time, and woke up. Poof. Gone. Nothing. She moved on with her music, allowing it to heal a broken heart, in the way she sang through the worlds. But it'd been weeks since the incident, and since she'd picked up a mic, never mind uttered a note. Nodding, teeth sunk into her bottom lip. “You don't drink?” She asked in surprise, finding it rare. “Can I ask why?” In the off chance she was strong, Harley didn't bode well with the thought. “I think so—I hope so, I mean... I don't really think there is any proper way to bounce back, but...” She shook her head. “It's all still really confusing.”
kit-mitchell:
Her stuttering brought a true laugh out of him. Not one of his usual chuckles, but a full-belly laugh. “Don’t worry about it at all. I will take a compliment from a beautiful woman any day. Tipsy or not. In fact, having a little tequila in ya probably just makes ya more honest so thank you.” He smirked with a nod of his head. “Looks like you’ve got the good stuff! Kass is making me stick to beer. Apparently, grilling while drunk is a hazard. Psh…” He made a funny face, but really didn’t mind the beer. Besides, the Fourth of July called for beer over anything else really. “I promise, this black bean burger will be SO good due to my skills, you won’t be able to tell the difference. And if you can, well then… Maybe I’ll have to take you out for a real burger.”
This was why she shouldn’t drink. Or, didn't drink in front of people who'd been nothing short of kind to her. Hand covering the pained expression of embarrassment, as she dropped it slowly. Was she as red as her fiery locks? Very good possibility. “Oh my god, I'm—I'm not sorry, because it's true, but oh my god, what was that three shots?” She lifted the bottle to examine it before setting it loosely in her grip at her side. “Yeah, but she wouldn't let me pay for it, which was the other issue. I'm almost afraid to tip her twenty bucks if she wouldn't chase me down with it.” With the notion of danger reflected in whether or not a black bean burger would be good, Harley had beamed, truly, for the first time in a long time. “Well, I guess I'll have to hold you too that. Or it could be good, and we could maybe just go out for another burger anyways?” Was that too forward? “Or—just.. anything… Wow, I’m bad at this.” But that last bit she whispered to herself. She was suffering embarrassment enough.
roxanaxmcquillen:
She remembered my name. “Ding! You win the grand prize of my company once more!” Peripheral had registered the rigidness of Harley’s body, a significant difference to the lucidity her body held before she was stabbed at her event. Roxy knew the history, her association with the Brotherhood and Seran, it had her again wonder if a Brotherhood member had been involved in the dirty deed. It was another reason, save for the desire to get to know her favorite singer, why Roxy was lingering around her–to serve as bodyguard, to help the victim ease her way back into society as a friend. “I’m not one to tell a gal what she can or can’t do, so cheers, Harley King. Welcome back to the land of the living.”
“Ooh, well that's a good thing.” Had she been fair company since? Harley wasn't sure. She was, however, convinced that one bottle of tequila, and knocking herself out on the nearest curb would've helped with everything, even momentarily. Reaching for shot glasses, as she poured one for the blonde, and one for herself, lifting it as Roxy spoke. “It's good to be back.” She murmured, downing the liquid, as the welcome burned sufficed. Making a face—there was no lemon around, as far as she could see—and just allowed it to quell away. “I'm glad you're here, actually, I don't know if I wanted to be left alone much here...” Too many memories, thoughts, worries, Seran. It all spun into one wave of massive disaster, and she didn't want that. “Is it bad I just want to be drunk?”
charliexwells:
“Would it help if the bottle is on me?” Charlotte offered the bartender, never one to pull rank, not that she had any rank to pull, but her place in history and began Logan’s ex had perks at least. Perks being helping out an old friend get to the drunken state she needed. A modern day Robin Hood. “Now I can’t let you drink this whole bottle alone, Har. Lord knows you’d end up right back at the hospital. So it’s my obligation and duty to help you out here.” She took the bottle, told her to put in on her tab, and took two shot glasses. “Limes? Salt? Other crutches?”
“Oh, come on, back in the day I could hold my liquor.” But those days had come and gone, like some distant dream she’d had once upon a blue moon. “A record goes multi-platinum and I resort to free booze still—good thing you and I didn’t change much.” Though there’d been so much, Was Charlotte on the outs with the Brotherhood, the way Harley felt she had been since returning? Letting out a small laugh, as she pointed to an empty table with two high stools. “Go grab that table, I’ll grab limes and salt.” Doing just that, as she gripped the bowl and napkins for whatever they needed, as she approached the table. “To America—and drinking until it’s all numb today.” She murmured, placing a lime before Charlotte. Gripping the bottle, unscrewing the cap and flicking it off. They wouldn’t need it—the bottle would be empty by the time they were done. “So—I heard you left. Why come back?”
colt-ryan:
Colton looked over when he heard the request to buy an entire bottle of tequila. He wanted to see who had asked, because he was honestly impressed. He raised an eyebrow when he saw Harley.
“Oh, look who’s up and out,” he said with a small smile, lifting his glass in ‘cheers’. “And drinking like a champion. If a drinking game starts, my money’s on you.”
It’d been some time since the Musician showed herself once more. TMZ would’ve gotten a kick out of this if they ever lingered long enough in Arizona. “I’m back,” She said softly, nodding her head for the moment. “I’m only drinking to ignore the Brotherhood, mostly.” Associates, those in favour, whatever. Harley was one of them at one point, but the burning glares, questionable stares of them—it was unsettling her. “So I’m drinking to ignore the pain and just have fun.” Pulling a shot glass towards her, she held the spare empty one up. “Want one?”
sxphiakim:
Seeing Harley after the Sanction incident was surprising to say the least. Hearing what she had to order was well…Concerning? Then again, many Americans loved to go above and beyond during their holiday. “I don’t blame you for wanting to celebrate your patriotism, as well as your recovery…But do you really plan on drinking that all by yourself?”
“I was going to nurse it, to be honest with you. Sober and being in the Brotherhood territory gives me... I don’t know, freaks me out, gives me anxiety.” Stress was the real factor, close proximity to her ex-husband, but that was a truth she’d bite back on. “Did you want to join me?” She murmured, wiggling the bottle for the moment. Keeping mum, as she pressed her lips into a fine line. “I never thanked you—all of you—my god, I—I don’t know, I guess it seems silly to thank you for not letting me bleed out but—I am. Eternally, really, I—” She shrugged, unsure of what else to say in her sheepish moment. “I just really appreciate it.”
kit-mitchell:
“Hello-” Kit looked up from the grill to have his eyes land on Harley King. He tried to hide his surprise to see her out and about. Kit was not someone to fuss though she he just smiled in greeting. “Hello Harley King. Welcome to my grill.” He grabbed one of the black bean patties and placed it on the grill, just in case she truly wanted one. “Honestly? I have not tried one yet.” With a thoughtful look, he put another on the grill for himself. “Shall we try them together Music Woman?”
Smile brightened slightly, his greeting echoed a small laugh, as it fell short in the back of her throat. “Well thank you—Kit Mitchell, I—I like your grill.” Brows knitted together. “That sounds like a really bad innuendo—I didn’t mean it like that—though you are good looking—oh my god.” She covered her face with her hand. “This is why I shouldn’t be allowed to drink.” Drink in hand, ninety percent tequila in the red cup, as she blushed a faint red. “Well, Science Guy, I think I’d like that. I hope your grilling skills are up to bar to make these things taste as good as they may not sound.”
kassmitchell:
Glancing sideways when she heard the voice looking for tequila Kass didn’t hesitate to slightly bump the bartender out of the way. It was a subtle way that the girls were able to shift their attention around and make sure that they’re regulars stayed their own. While Harley wasn’t a regular, there was something about the fact that the President’s ex wife was stepping food on her property again that made her feel like she needed to claim this one. Grabbing a bottle of Legado, the blonde set it down in front of the red head and smiled. “Come on Harley you know better than to try and buy something here. Even if you two aren’t connected, your money is still no good. Take the bottle, it’s yours.”
“Kass,” She murmured, as the weakened smile graced her lips. Sure, familiarity was welcomed, and it eased the tension as she avoided the gaze of some of the higher up Brothers. It made her nervous. Looking him in the eye after knowing his truth’s was not was Harley wanted right now. “Look, if you don’t take it, I’m gonna tip you huge.” She offered, small voice as hands curled around the base of the bottle. “At lease—join me for a shot? Not if you’re busy though, I—I feel like an outcast in here right now.”
Harley knew this was forbidden territory. How long had it been since she stepped inside of the bar that lingered so far ago in her mind? Was it even the same? Did they change it all? Stifling a shaking breath, the thought of entering another bar was enough to set her teeth on edge. Sure, she had her phone. One ‘911’ call could have an Uber here, or better, her agent would move faster and get her out of here without being seen. Biting her tongue, as she moved to the bar, looking around at the people around her silently. “Can I just—buy a bottle of tequila?” She questioned, unaware of who overheard.
roxanaxmcquillen:
“Not even July 4th yet and I’ve seen enough Uncle Sam costumes to give me nightmares for a month. Small town’s got an odd amount of pride for Independence Day.” Roxana announced to her nearby counterpart, not bothering to register who it was, unprompted as always. “I say by now, for every one that we see, we take a shot.” Finally glancing over to see if the other was game, Roxy faltered slightly, but kept the daring look in her eyes. “That is…if you’re allowed to drink now?” Her tone softened then, glint of worry ebbing on crystal orbs. “Otherwise I’d change shots for hot dogs just for you.”
@harleysings
Harley had gone incognito for the most of it, residing by the bar. Though memory served, flashbacks of Sanction flooded her mind, but she wouldn’t allow it. Even if her grip on the bar tightened, only to steady herself upright. Shifting as she caught the tone of another, honey hues widened and smiled softly to the blonde. “Roxy, right?” She asked. Well, her apt for names hadn’t diminished as he spirit seemed too. “I think so—I haven’t really left the house much since to know if I can or not.” She knew for the most part, aside from the pain killers here and there, she would be fine after being released. But the real world left her feeling uneasy. “What’s one shot, right?”
kit-mitchell:
Saints & Sinners had turned into a true American backyard BBQ party. Lawn games were scattered across he back patio, a game of giant Jenga was happening on one of the picnic tables and there was Kit, behind the grill, sweating away in the Arizona July heat. The American Flag hat his sister had him put on was helping at least. Kit half-smiled at the person walking up with their paper plate. “I’ve got hamburgers, hot dogs and some black bean burgers if that’s your thing. What would you like?”
She didn’t need to be here. There’d be no sense to enter the facility, where others would linger. Seeing him, not seeing him—the musician sat on the fence. But a grumble of her stomach, turning on itself, as she knew more than anything she would succumb to her stomach’s pleas. Finding the food, the smile, rare in her time alone, spread along her cheeks. “Hi,” She murmured, looking at the food. “Black bean burger? Any good, Science Guy?” She as
