There was a smile, small, and a bit of a repressed look of emotions in her eyes. Expression was not something she was doing well, but had begun to learn how to be more human and less of a soldier. And with every kiss, every little attempt to get her to just relax, the huntress came more and more out of the shadows.
Her calloused, anxious hands found his, finding something to ground herself to in the mean time. She liked the idea of the dream catcher, wanting to turn to anything else before medication. If she ended up prescribed something, it meant tracking down her medical history, which was something she was not ready to dive into. Or ever.
“Can we try your magic? I know it’s not exactly easy, or fun, but I’m sure if anyone can make them go away with a little hocus pocus, it’d be you. You’ve got a good heart, Carson. Don’t forget that.”
“Yeah we can do that. I’m just going to need a few things and call my mom. She used to do them for me when I was a kid. I got a lot of bad dreams and I’d make her do them a lot.” Carson said trying to remember everything he would need to do the rituals.
“I know about two of them that should work and shouldn’t interfere with each other.” Carson said running a hand through Griffin’s hair before running his hand down her arm. “So do you. You don’t deserve to think these things about yourself. You’re a good person.” He murmured giving her a small smile.

A sigh fell from her lips, gently nuzzling her face against Carson. Her gaze remained on the opposite wall while he spoke, afraid that if he saw her, if he looked her in the eyes, he would witness how the big bad singer queen could be reduced to a child by something as simple as a nightmare.
“We tried dream catchers, ones that were made on the Sioux reservation by the salvage. They never did much.” Griffon admitted, her rhythms she tapped out gaining more of a nervous tone.
“I don’t want to take sleeping pills, I want to do it on my own.” The huntress took a deep, rather frustrated breath, finally glancing up in the dark at the boy. “Having someone around helps. At least, it did when I was little.”
“Never had one with my magic though.” Carson said leaning into the other’s touch before kissing her once. He just wanted to help and he didn’t really have many option. He didn’t like not knowing what to do which was funny since it seemed like he never knew what to do.
“Griffin, there’s nothing wrong with not doing it on your own. If sleeping pills are going to help then you should take the help.” Carson said biting his lip. He didn’t want to see the other suffer and he knew how bad nightmares could be. He didn’t want her to suffer, he didn’t like seeing anyone in pain especially her.
