Let Oliver go ape shit in chapter 6.

Let him rage. Let him lose that tight, unnatural control he has over himself. Let him shatter upon seeing that the world he envisioned will never be real. Let him completely destroy everything he's tried to build.

And when it's all said and done, when he's faced with the consequences of his actions, I wanna see him break down. Finally confront what was taken from him as a person, and what he in turn took from others. Need to see him despondent, weeping, accepting of the reaper looming over him in the Butcher's form.

But no. It won't be that simple. There will be no death as redemption here. When he is at his lowest, when he accepts himself as a monster and only that, need to have the Butcher refuse to swing that scythe. There's been enough suffering because of PlayCo. The only way forward is actual change. Somewhere away from this horrid place that keeps them trapped in a cycle of abuse.

I know a happy ending, especially for the Prototype, is probably a pipe dream, but a fan can dream.

some theory videos suggest that the prototype turning preston into a toy was still meant to be punishment and not a reward because, even though he was "nice," he was still (self-described) as guilty of the sins he and the others committed. but i don't agree with this because the prototype doesn't turn people into toys as punishment. otherwise why would jessica newman, the one who "wasn't very nice," be killed while preston is brought back?

you might be thinking "but ms. gracie/lily lovebraids," to which i say, he didn't turn her into a toy as punishment. he put her through conditioning and isolated her as punishment. turning her into a toy was merely to prevent a quick death, because she didn't deserve that in his eyes

the prototype is literally turning all the orphans into toys and this obviously isn't a form of punishment. to him, it's a gift of new life, making them better. (or at least that's what he's telling himself to hide his real motivation: combatting loneliness.) he even tells preston after reanimating him: "i'm so glad you were there when i needed you. now i can be there for you, always." as in, he's given preston new life, he's allowing preston into his kingdom, and they'll always be together

preston just unfortunately lives a miserable existence being unable to move or anything and his body being a jumbled mess of parts simply because the prototype was inexperienced and terrible at making living toys at that time. 💀 but i do fully believe the prototype meant well and intended it to be a reward

My idea of this piece is the prototype being taken outside after defeat, seeing sunlight and grass for the first time in decades…The blue butterfly landing on him symbolizes rebirth, freedom, and farewell 😢

The broken past made him the villain of the story, spreading hatred at the world. He can’t turn back, he could only live in the shadow he had reshaped by himself. Now everything is over... In the sunlight, this decaying body blooms with flowers. Ollie, you've done so much—now it's time to rest.

Headcannon that since Oliver was a 70’s kid, Oliver’s bio mother was a ABBA fan and got him into the music. Back when things were good.

Prototype has not heard any ABBA music in so long. If he ever heard ‘Dancing Queen’ a red haired woman whose face he cannot see appears in his mind. And he wants to cry.
