Once Kaede placed him down, Shuichi turns to face her. This time, he gently returns the hug, a soft laugh leaving him when he eventually leans back to answer:

"Ahaha, I was a little startled, yeah; only because I had no idea you were behind me. But, it was a nice surprise, of course! Though I guess it's no surprise you'd find me here, huh?"

He laughs, currently being in this small bakery cage he likes to frequent, not too far from the school. "How have you been? Would you like to enjoy some coffee and pastries with me? My treat!"

"Sure thing! I love spending time with you, after all!" she'll let her hands go to lift and gently pat his arms. "I actually have a small treat for you, i'll give it to you soon." she did in fact have one at the ready, hidden within her white backpack she often wore around.

"Also, it's not hard to see you at this place, you're often here so I figured while your back was turned i could get you!" empathized 'get you' with her fingers now hooking into his arms like claws, nothing to hurt. Just playful!

"A-Ah...!" At first, he let out a soft noise in surprise when he felt himself not only hugged from behind, but lifted off his feet just slightly. Then when he hears that it's Kaede's voice, surprise quickly shifts into delight, turning his head back to look at her.

"Oh, Kaede!" Now smiling, he laughs as rests his hands on her arms. "H-Hey there, you surprised me, ahaha! It's good to see you...!"
