I'm a little behind in my posting. This #sketch was dine on the #boardwalk on a small #beach on the #snakeriver in #newjersey when I was there in #June It's a #public beach, but there was almost no one ever there. The guy walking his #dog in the drawing, actually came over to see what I was #sketching and I told him he was in it! He liked that and we had a nice chat. A minute after that, a bizarre thing happened. While standing there looking down at the beach, continuing to #draw, a woman came toward me with her camera aimed toward me. I am naturally friendly and was in a good mood because of the previous conversation and so I smiled at this person and asked, "Are you taking my picture?" Actually, I had to ask twice....She said nothing to me and started walking away. I called after her and asked "Hey, can you do me a favor?" And then louder, because I thought she didn't hear me, "I wanted to ask if you can tag me on Instagram if you post it?" She completely ignored me! She even walked back past me, still completely ignoring me. Even as I shouted a few choice foul words her way. It was #rude #creepy #invasive and #fuckedup basically. The one nice thing that came out of it is that @billylatshaw who was still walking back and forth on the boardwalk with his #pup Mattie, was there and helped me process the #effedup -ness of it.
