still makes me sad inside that none of the boys congratulated zayn on the single even though he took the time to make a tweet about drag me down and say he was “proud of my boys”

I’m a native urdu speaker I grew up speaking it etc. and I am a fairly good singer, trained using the traditional western scale and it’s SO difficult for me to sing classical pakistani music, singing sargams etc. (because it’s a COMPLETELY different scale) and I’m willing to bet that zayn didn’t get professional training in that area growing up either so the fact that he CAN raaga the way he does is amazing and I think worthy of praise. and if you can’t see how big of a deal it is for him to be connecting to his roots this way after not even being able to contribute to any of the music while he was in one direction AND having to suppress those pieces of his identity then idk what to tell you
