Natural colours , Cowdung and ofcourse the hard work of an artist . This what it takes to make these beautiful toys. Yes these beautiful toys are made of Cowdung . This is one of the speciality of Raghurajpur. But sadly not many youngsters are much interested in working with dung (according to one of the artist I talked to) so, god knows for how much longer this art is gonna survive. . It is sad that we are falling apart from our own culture in the name of being civilised. As the name and the explanation describe it all. Its the land of artists. These some pieces of art work which I saw at a home (or should I say workplace) of a couple. They were giving finishing touche to these colourful boxes and some raw boxes were there for their chance. Being an engineer, I always love to see and explore the process of manufacturing of particular product. Here , every home is a like a small department of particular product and combining all these home makes a whole factory of a mass artistic products. . The couple was very friendly and they let me take photos and videos of their work. It was before the cyclone "FANI* when I visited Odisha's first Heritage Village RAGURAJPUR, ODISHA . (~14 km away from the coastline , Cyclone FANI affected this place and the artists very badly WHICH BTW MOST OF US HAVE ALMOST FORGOTTEN) . It's like any other village of India but with an incredible speciality. It is the village of artists. Here , every single person of this village is born with an amazing and unique talent. I was lucky enough to get interaction with such amazing people. . Actually i was watching TV at home and saw an advertisement which was still showing how people affected from Fani are still struggling as there source of income is gone with the cyclone. I thought maybe i should share my experience and the beauty of that palace so that some how it can benefit these people in some way. .
