sophie did her best to keep a straight composed facial expression as her friend pondered over her question, though it was clear from her twinkling green eyes that she too was amused as sophie was. the redhead couldn’t believe how lucky she had gotten in meeting mia, the two clicked instantly after sophie had seen her in the book shop so often and she finally decided to make conversation. the brunette had seemed kind, it was the first impression sophie had gotten of her and then later discovering their mutual love for literature. “oh, good, because I was sort of leaning towards that one as well. I thank you and my sanity thanks you.” a dazzling grin curving sophie’s lips as, “i’ll tell you how good it turns out.” she added before turning her own green eyes over to mia when she wanted the favor in return. “thats a tough choice, on one hand we are adults but as books lovers personally i’d get all of them. they’re on sale right? who knows in a few days they might get expensive again. we don’t have to be that responsible.” sophie said jestingly. “rather we are doing the responsible thing at grabbing them at a better bargain.”
there were few people that mia got along with as easily as sophie. between their softer dispositions and their mutual love of reading, it was almost easy to believe the joke that they were long lost sisters- if not for sophie’s vibrantly red hair. mia always enjoyed it when the other girl made it into the shop. it certainly helped to break up the monotony that could sometimes beset the small shop. “well then, i’m glad that i picked that one. your sanity is preserved. at least, for now,” she giggled as she straightened items around the cash register. “definitely do that. i just might have to steal it from you, after all.” it was one of the unspoken benefits of having friends who loved reading; you could always read their books when they were done with them. mia watched sophie, a grin lifting the corners of ehr lips as her friend methodically considered the question. “indeed,” she smirked, “now you see my predicament! it’s hard to ignore a good sale.” after sohpie reached her decision, mia couldn’t help but to laugh. “well, when you put it like that, it would be almost irresponsible not to buy them now!”
