The Harvest King and Harvest Goddess created Life, but it was humans who gave life meaning. And they watched curiously from their mountains and their springs as humans found joy and beauty in the rising sun and blooming flowers. Watched as they cried and grieved for the loss of each other and the coming of winter.

It is this that made them love humans so, adore them and answer their prayers. It is the gratitude of humanity that brought them joy in seeing these silly, unreasonable creatures flourish.

      After a moment, the Harvest King turns to the Wizard, expression strangely open. There’s something of a plea in his gaze, normally filled with passion burning like the ever present fire in his veins. There are few with which the god would be so open, but the Wizard has earned his respect -- a rare gift from the elusive god atop the mountain.

      “You are not mortal, but neither are you immortal. Will that be enough, Gale, to spare my sister grief?”

No one knows the Harvest King’s true name, not even the Harvest Goddess. He, however, knows hers because she was born of his power and it was he who gifted her with a name. Neither of them will share their name with anyone (not even their children) but the person they open their hearts to.
