I know but seriously. Thank you. I feel like there's not enough gratitude these days and I want to make sure that each and every one of you get a little bit of love back for giving love to fic authors like me.

My pool of energy, focus, and time have been limited for a long time. It's why I usually make a few silly posts and then disappear. It's why I rarely engage. I'm on E almost all the time and to the outside eye, that can look a lot like indifference or a lack of gratitude. It's not. It's either excruciating awkwardness or having 2 functioning brain cells and they're distracting each other.

I so appreciate the time and energy everyone takes to read my work. Full stop. If you then go on to review and engage with it? That's a level of generosity that deserves pause. These days, we're pulled in a thousand different directions. Everything is scary. But you still went over to a stranger's fic and gave your own limited time and energy into expressing love for it.

Just recognize that about yourselves. What a gift it is. How kind it is. And whatever response you get, your kindness is like a lighthouse in these incredibly shitty times.
