Hatchetfield Fairy AU Hcs: Peter Spankoffski!!!

It is finally time for the perfect boy!

Our story starts with Ted of the Clan Spankoffski. A dragonfly fairy who loved his freedom too much to settle down with anyone.

That is until he met that stunning butterfly fairy with giant blue eyes who changed everything.

It was a whirlwind romance and Ted wasn't even sure when exactly it had happened, but he knew that he would give up everything to call this fairy his mate.

And that's when it happened.

“Ted, I… I found this egg in town the other day, and I didn't expect it to survive, but it did and he hatched. And… he needs me. And I can't force this on you.”

They say nothing good ever lasts. Especially not for men like Ted.

He'd begged and pleaded. Said he could be a parent, that he would do anything just to stay together. But the decision seemed to have already been made.

His heartbreak was so immense that Ted spent the next week sick with grief.

Then, after about a week or so all his heartbreak and pain culminated until it left Ted screaming in agony. And when it was done, Ted was left with the physical manifestation of all his love (and pain). A single, dark green egg. The tiniest egg that Ted had ever seen.

He left that same day. Moved to a different colony without a word. Without telling anyone. He didn't care about losing friends, or starting over. Only one thing mattered in his mind:

Making sure Paul of the Clan Matthews never hurt this baby the way he'd hurt Ted.

Pete was a tiny baby, about the same size as Ruth when he hatched. It was no wonder Ted hadn't known he was pregnant until giving birth.

Unlike Ruth, however, Pete was born with the biggest wings you've ever seen on a baby. Just fucking giant wings.

More than once, a strong gust of wind picked up Pete and sent him gliding, with Ted chasing after him.

He had to be swaddled in his own wings for safety to prevent that.

Figured out flying really young. Most fairies learn to fly around 13, when their wings finally grow big enough to learn. Pete started gliding at 4, and flying at 8.

Truly it's a miracle Ted didn't go gray from stress.

Grew up in a little meadow off the shore of Lake Michigan. He and Ted lived in a hibiscus bush not far from where Ruth and her family lived.

Pete and Ruth were best friends growing up. They were practically inseparable.

Pete was a tiny child. He and Ruth were the same height until they turned 13 and puberty made Pete sprout into a beanstalk.

Ruth is very jealous about this.

Pete has two tails. He uses them like extra hands when he gets busy.

Loves flying. He'd never walk anywhere if that was an option. Unfortunately his wings are so big that they can get in the way if he tries to fly in tight spaces.

He can't take off in enclosed spaces due to the gusts his wings produce.

Pete used to carry Ruth around before she learned how to fly, and helped to teach her to fly once her wings were big enough.

He and Ruth left to move to the Capitol when they came of age. Both felt they could do so much there if given the opportunity, and as best friends do, decided to move together.

It was there that they met Richie, and their duo became a trio.

The three of them are roommates and live in an abandoned squirrel's nest in a tree hollow together.

Loves sweets. Has to remind himself that he can't gorge himself on honey without repercussions.

Loves to go explore hatchetfield with Richie. It was on one of these trips that he tried chocolate for the first time.

He was the first fairy to try it.

Pete is the personal assistant/secretary for the crowned princess Steph. It's a huge honor to get to work with the next queen, and the flirting is a plus in his book.

According to fairy standards, large wings and tails are both very attractive and seen as a sign of fertility. Pete turns bright red if you ever mention this fact around him.

Pete and Steph have recently started courting, but are keeping it quiet for now. It's very obvious to everyone around them, however, that they're meant to be and it's only a matter of time before they're officially mates.

He can't wait to tell Ted.

He gets homesick easily, and tries to visit home as much as possible.

It's something he and Richie bond over. They both have a strong connection with their parents, and being away from home is hard on them. Pete can't wait to introduce Richie to Ted and meet Richie's mother, Paul, one day though.

After all, they're best friends.

There we go! My special boy is done! I hope you all like these. I know they went on a little long, but I wanted to write the ted/paul backstory and still give a good amount of hcs about Pete specifically. Also he's my blorbo so I just have thoughts about him.

Hatchetfield Fairy AU Hcs: Kyle Clauger!!

Kyle was an eventful baby.

Was a clutch of just a single egg, however, he was so big that his parents thought they were having at least 4 eggs.

They were surprised when they had one giant egg containing one fat baby instead.

Tragedy struck the Claugers when Kyle's nest was attacked by an owl. His parents, George and Maria, were able to defend their unborn son from the predator, but both took heavy damage in the process, and succumbed to their injuries not long after.

He was raised by his grandmother after. She's the only parent he's ever known.

Was born with incredibly small wings for his size. For comparison, Kyle's wings at birth were about the same size as Ruth's, despite being much larger.

As an adult, Kyle's wings are still tiny for his size. As a result, he can't fly. He can glide and hover for a few moments, but they're simply too tiny to support him for flight.

Has stronger legs than most fairies. Due to his condition, Kyle has to walk most places, and as such, gets more leg exercise than your average fairy.

Lives with his grandmother in a rotted out tree stump.

Is best friends with Max. As children Max would defend Kyle from assholes who wanted to pick on him for the size of his wings. Once Max ran away from his father, Kyle and his grandmother made a point to check in on him and make sure he was OK.

His tail wags like a dog when he's happy. It's very cute.

His grandmother owns a little fairy bakery. Kyle works as a delivery boy for her. Taking little treats across the forest for all the fairies.

Has lots of friends as an adult. He's really such a sweetie that you can't help but love him.

Has a variety of little (and not so little pets). He had to be told he couldn't have a pet squirrel as a child.

Small children love him. He's great with kids.

Kyle is way too curious and always gets into trouble because of it.

Definitely eats way more honey than he should, and suffers the consequences.

God's most perfect creature.

Hatchetfield Fairy AU Hcs: Jason Jepson!!

Trying this again cause the picture freaked out the first time.

Jason has a lot of siblings. Like a ton.

His parents, Reginald and Monica, had already had 3 other clutches by the time Jason's own clutch of eggs was born and would go on to have 8 more clutches after.

While it's not uncommon for fairies to have lots of clutches (as is with most species that lay eggs), they were odd in how close together all of their clutches were all close to each other. As such, Jason knows a lot more about baby fairies than your average fairy without children.

Even with all their children though, Jason's hatching was particularly memorable.

He was born feet first, which is fairly common, but upon freeing his feet, Jason stood up and took off running. Right into a coffee table.

Obviously that's not common for newborns.

He hatched completely standing and, to everyone's further shock, was born with his eyes open. Not just open, staring into everyone's soul.

Sweet boy was born sentient.

Jason was a quiet child. He didn't say anything at all until he was 5 years old. His parents honestly thought he couldn't speak and had taken him to several healers for testing.

According to Jason, he just didn't have anything to say until then.

His family consists entirely of dragonfly fairies, all of whom are sporty. He spent his childhood constantly playing games with his siblings.

Learned how to fly very young. He was the first in his clutch to learn how to fly.

He's also fast. Incredibly fast. And, unlike Richie, he's also agile and rarely gets into accidents while flying.

He's also strong. Strong enough to carry Kyle.

He'll give Kyle rides when needed.

Works alongside Richie as a royal messenger. They often get assigned on deliveries together due to their combined speed.

Even as an adult, Jason is still the quiet type. Those who don't know him well would think he's intimidating, but his friends know he's just listening and observing the world.

Has the opposite of a sweet tooth. While other fairies look forward to the annual fertility festival and the consumption of honey, Jason tends to avoid eating the stuff.

Besides, he's too busy with work to get dragged down by eggs.

He's really funny if you can get him to talk. Max and Kyle never fail to find his jokes hilarious and always try to get more out of him.

Has a crush on Grace but won't admit it due to her reputation as a church fairy and apparently disdain for any fairy who won't convert.

Ok there we go. My internet freaked out last time and didn't load the picture correctly. But here we are, I didn't want to make everyone wait forever again.

Hatchetfield Fairy AU Hcs: Stephanie Lauter!!

As I have stated before, there are several different colonies of fairies located throughout the Witchwood, all ruled over by the fairy royal family.

For many years, they were ruled by Queen Scarlett, a king and gentle butterfly fairy who was renowned for her gentle nature and innate goodness towards others. Truly she was a queen among queens, someone that history would remember fondly.

You can imagine the excitement that ran throughout the entire kingdom when Queen Scarlett announced that she and her mate, a wasp fairy called Solomon, were expecting their first clutch of eggs.

You can also imagine their grief when it was announced that she had been taken with illness during pregnancy, and that same illness had ended her life as well as 3 of the 4 eggs in her clutch.

Steph was the only survivor, and she wasn't exactly what the people imagined in their future leader.

I mean, after the amazing kindness of Queen Scarlett, it was hard to imagine an angry little wasp type baby with her father's coloring to take her place.

Really, the only thing that even tied Steph to her mother were her second set of horns. The same second that Queen Scarlett, the same ones that were indicative of the royal family.

She had a lonely child. After the death of her mother, Solomon closed himself off emotionally, only focusing on what was necessary for her training as future leader. And without siblings, there weren't many people for her to spend her time with.

There was one person, however:

Steph's Aunt Holloway, Scarlett's twin sister who had stepped down from the royal line when they were both young and had since traveled throughout the Witchwood as a performer.

When she heard of her sister's passing, Holloway had immediately returned home to help raise her niece.

She's Steph's favorite family member.

As part of the royal family, Steph has far more usable magic than your regular fairy. She even has the ability to temporarily turn humans fairy sized. Part of why Holloway came back was to teach her magic.

While she is currently a princess, Steph is more commonly known as ‘Queen in Training’, as she works to take on more responsibility until her coronation on her 25th birthday.

There's a lot of pressure for her to live up to Queen Scarlett's legacy.

Desperately wants to prove herself as a good Queen. Stephanie fears she'll never live up to her mother's reputation. Her worst fear is that she'll never be a good Queen because she's more her father's daughter than she is her mother's daughter.

Anyone who knows her can tell that she's actually Holloway's niece.

There is however one aspect of her role Steph feels she excels in: honey collection.

As both royalty and a wasp fairy, it is part of Stephanie's job to lead wasp fairy troops in the collection of honey. It's probably her favorite part of the job.

Though she has many acquaintances due her status, Stephanie has a small circle of actual friends.

Sneaks out a lot to go flying. It helps her relax from the stresses of being a princess.

Has a crush on her secretary/personal assistant, Pete, and has begun courting him. They've agreed to keep the ordeal quiet for now though, since the press would go crazy if they knew she had a potential mate.

The Steph lore is complete!!!

You keep mentioning a royal family in your headcannons, did I miss something or is someone royalty?

Hi! So you might have seen in my latest hcs that Steph is royalty, but I had a bunch of ideas about the royal family that I didn't want to bog down Stephs hcs with, so I thought I would make a general lore post!

Hatchetfield Fairy AU: Royal Family Lore!

First, before I get into these hcs I feel like I should explain some thoughts that will help viewers understand further hcs:

First, fairies do not define mother and father by gender, but by Egg layer vs. Not. You can be male and be a mother, you can be female and be a father.

Therefore when I say last names are matrilineal, I don't mean the female line, I mean the egg giver line. Family trees are always referred to as clans. For example Max is Maximus of Clan Jägerman. His mother was Ophelia of Clan Jägerman.

The one exception to this is the Lauter Clan. The Lauter last name is given to whoever is picked to rule, regardless of their Clan.

So for example, of lautskis kids, whoever becomes heir to the throne would be “prince/princess ‘blank’ of Clan Lauter”. The rest would take Spankoffski as their last name because that's Pete's Clan.

I figured I would define this now since this is kinda the first place its been brought up, and I knew it would raise questions.

Cool? Cool. Let's move on.

The fairies of the witchwood are split into different colonies based on location. These colonies all have their own councils/leaders in charge, but they all answer to The Lauter Clan, the royal family of fairies.

As mentioned earlier, Steph is currently first in line to rule, and before that they were ruled by Queen Scarlett the Gentle of Clan Lauter, who passed away giving birth. In her absence, Scarlett's twin, Holloway, has been acting as Queen Regent until Steph comes of age.

They have many jobs as rulers of fairies, but the main job of the royal family is to keep fairies a secret from humans. The royal family has magic that regular fairies do not, and they use that magic to keep fairy colonies hidden from human eyes.

Before they went into hiding, it was the job of the royal family to act as peace keepers with humans. That role is long gone.

Besides their magic, fairies from the Lauter Clan are identifiable by their second set of horns.

It's like a crown, sorta.

Due to fairies being born in clutches, the crown heir is not chosen by age, but by proving they have the necessary skills needed to rule.

Sometimes this isn't the case, however, like with Stephanie, who was the only survivor in her clutch and thus has no choice in being heir, or Holloway, who stepped down because she felt her sister would make a better queen.

Once decided, the chosen heir will be announced as such on their 18th birthday, after which they will spend the next several years being trained by the current ruler, before taking the throne on their 25th birthday.

I have the nerds around age 21 in these hcs, so steph has 4 years until she's crowned queen.

In addition to their duties as rulers, each specific ruler has additional duties based on what kind of fairy they are: butterfly fairies oversee health and healing, dragonflies oversee colony development, and wasps oversee honey collection for religious purposes.

Despite what you might think, the magic and extra horns of Lauter Clan fairies are not genetically, but because they are connected to a special tree in the witchwood.

This tree is the ancestral home of the Lauter Clan, and was said to be blessed by a powerful spider long ago. This blessing gives the royal family their powers to protect over the forest.

(Yes its a rip off of pixie hollow but with webby, shut up)

Without living in the royal tree, these genes can only survive for a generation or two before disappearing. But sometimes, you'll find distant cousins with these traits.

This was seen most recently when Hannah of Clan Foster was born and developed two sets of horns.

The ruling King or Queen will take on an adjective as part of their title that describes their reign. Steph's mother was Queen Scarlett the Gentle due to her gentle nature.

Though she doesn't know it yet, Steph will eventually become Queen Stephanie the Righteous.

I NEEEED to know If a a fairy was to summon the lords in black, would the lords appear in a human form and just be fucking TOWERING over the fairy or fairy lords in black I feel like both would be a cool idea :3

I think it could be cool if the fairies could actually perceive their real forms, but like them sized you know?

Okay here me out Kyle and Max have just recently met and Max makes fun of Kyle for his wings, Kyle is thinking this kid is really mean, Max is thinking this is his best friend

And the next day Max beats up another kid for being mean to Kyle about his wings cause that's his friend

Yessss

Max is absolutely that kind of kid!

Hatchetfield Fairy AU Hcs: Richie Lipschitz!!

Richie was part of a clutch of 5 eggs. A very common amount for a single clutch.

His birth mother, however, did not want to be a parent, and chose to abandon her clutch in hopes that they would pass away before they hatch.

Abandoning clutches is more common than you would think, however, not wanting anyone to discover her clutch, she left them in the one place no fairy would dare to go: Hatchetfield.

Enter Paul.

Paul Matthews was your average butterfly fairy who lived on the edge of the Witchwood. And like most fairies, he never even thought to go into Hatchetfield for his safety.

That was until an unknown hiker left a half full cup of Beanie's coffee in the woods.

All it took was one sip for Paul to get hooked, and ever since he's ventured into town to get his paws on the drink.

It was on one such trip when he heard it: the distinct sound of a baby fairy crying. Investigating the sound revealed a singular newly hatched dragonfly fairy sat in a dumpster, the only survivor of his entire clutch.

The rest, they say, is history.

He was an ugly baby, even by fairy standards. So ugly in fact that Paul took him to several healers because he was sick.

While baby fairies are known for having tiny wings, Richies were positively miniscule, especially for a dragonfly fairy. Paul was convinced for most of his childhood that Richie wouldn't ever be able to fly due to their size.

Luckily, they grew to proper size once he was a teenager.

Richie is an incredibly fast flyer. He's also stupidly clumsy and always getting into accidents while flying. It's not uncommon to see him with at least one bruise from a flying accident.

He grew up right on the edge of the Witchwood with Paul in an abandoned Robin's nest. Once he came of age he moved into the hollow of that same tree where he lives to this day.

Spent Most of his childhood thinking Paul was his biological mother. Only found out the truth when he was almost an adult.

He still calls Paul his mother because Paul raised him.

Richie is obsessed with humans and will collect anything to do with him. As a child he begged to go with Paul into town in search for more rare items for his collection.

He once found an old Naruto Manga and became obsessed with the thing.

Richie works as a messenger for the royal family. He travels all across The Witchwood with messages and items for different colonies.

Tends to get distracted easily. If he weren't as fast of a flyer as he is, Richie would be later for his deliveries all the time.

Trips over his own tail more often than he'll ever admit.

Hatchetfield Fairy AU Hcs: Ruth Fleming!

Ruth was part of a clutch of 7 eggs, an unusually large number for a single clutch.

Her parents Garbiel and Ana, a dragonfly fairy and a wasp respectively, were expecting the clutch to consist mostly of wasp fairies. You can imagine their shock that Ruth was a butterfly.

Turns out it was a throwaway gene from her grandparents.

Ruth was the first one in the clutch to hatch, doing so extremely early. Her parents were worried she wouldn't make it due to how early she hatched.

She was the runt of her litter and was extremely tiny as a baby and child.

For the first couple months of her life, Ruth would cry whenever she was removed from her egg. Her parents had to wash and dry the thing so she could use it as a crib.

Grew up on the island's shore. Ruth and her family lived in an old birdhouse where The Witchwood meets the beach.

Her siblings loved to rough house as children. Something incredibly normal for wasp fairies, but since Ruth was both a butterfly fairy and so small, she found their constant attempts to wrestle exhausting.

Has been friends with Pete since they were children. For most of their childhood they were the same size and Ruth was extremely jealous when Pete had a giant growth spurt and she didn't.

She took forever to learn how to fly. Her wings were just too tiny for most of her childhood to properly learn.

Her wings flap so fast when she's flying that she looks like a hummingbird. Sometimes, when she gets excited or flustered, Ruth's wings will start fluttering without her realizing and she'll take off flying.

Works as an archivist for the royal family. It's her job to document important events in the various parts of The Witchwood.

As a butterfly fairy, Ruth eats a mostly vegetarian diet. However, Ruth specifically survives on a diet high in sugar, mainly fruit and nectar.

She bruises incredibly easily. Always has at least one bruise

Has a pet lady bug. His name is Chuckles.

As an adult, Ruth lives in an old bike basket that washed ashore during a storm.

She's very creative and loves using things she finds around The Witchwood to decorate her nest.

Messy bitch. Hates cleaning.

Hatchetfield Fairy AU Hcs: Max Jägerman!!

Max is an only child. There was only one egg in his clutch.

However, his egg was such a big egg that his parents thought that the clutch contained at least 5 eggs.

You can imagine their shock when it was just him.

His mother, Ophelia, was a butterfly fairy, and his father, Eric, was a wasp fairy. Max inherited his father's wasp traits from his father but has his mothers coloring.

His mother died when he was young to predators (read: a stray cat), and his father never really got over it.

She died protecting Max, and as such, his father blamed him for her death.

Wasp fairies often have the instinct to eat their unwanted young, and Eric was no different. Luckily, Max could fight back, and was able to survive.

Max was born in a small cave and lived there under Eric's ‘care’ until the age of 12, when he finally grew tired of his father's abuse and ran away.

Eventually he settled in a large oak tree not far from the heart of the Witchwood.

It was there he was found by Kyle's grandmother, who semi took him in. She wanted to fully adopt Max, but he was too skittish to let her.

Max still lives in that same tree as an adult, and to this day Kyle and his grandmother are some of the only people allowed in his tree.

Wasp fairies are generally more territorial than other fairies, but this goes doubly so for Max. Lord help the unfortunate human to stumble too close to his tree.

Has the honored job of harvesting honey for other fairies. In fairy culture, honey is a sacred item used both in courting and fertility festivals, however, since bees are roughly the size of cats to fairies, collecting honey is a dangerous job.

Max collects honey directly for the royal family.

He's a bit of a loner, with only Kyle and Jason as his closest friends.

The only other fairy he might consider a friend is Stephanie, but as they're both wasp fairies their friendship is… odd to outsiders. It mostly consists of them fighting and harvesting honey together.

HATCHETFIELD FAIRY AU 🦋

A separate blog for this AU that I'm running with my friend @girl-with-cat-eyes ! She was the one of the idea for this blog. So here it is!

These are the fairies, the designs until now! I probably will do more soon, but as for now, the NPMD gang and Jocks as fairies!

Fairies are creatures that thousand of years ago used to live in harmony with humans, but the greed of humans led to their almost complete extinction. Fairies are healing creatures itself, swallowing one would make the fairy release hormones that would heal the human, and would also heal the fairy. Stomach acid won't harm them.

The issue is that, this might take a long while, while the blood of a fairy is a way stronger healer, and instantaneous. This led to humans hunting them for their blood until the remaining fairies decided to hide. Now, they reside in the Witchwood forest. Some on their own, some in communities.

There are three type of fairies:

Butterfly fairies are the ones who everyone would think if immediately when you ask them to picture fairies. Butterfly wings and very pretty. They're usually the ones who get courted, and they're the species with more numbers. They're herbivorous, eating meat will make them sick. Their horns are blunt, they lack claws and their paws are soft, making them almost completely harmless.

Dragonfly fairies are the sporty ones, flying around all the time, going fast, doing heavy work, building nests and collecting food. As their name states, they have dragonfly wings, which are amazing for flight and speed. They have claws and sharp horns for hunting. They're omnivores, can eat meat, but also would survive without it.

Wasp fairies are the aggressive ones, the ones you'd see as troublemakers. Hot tempered and dangerous. They have long claws on their hands and paws, their tails have pointy ends that they use to attack, and their horns are long and very sharp. Their teeth are similar to small shark teeth, they use these to eat meat. They're carnivores and scavengers. They could eat vegetables or non-meat food, but it won't give any nutritious value to them.

Fairies are not able to talk to humans in their regular size, instead you'd hear squeaking or the twinkling of bells. Once a month they can take a regular person's size, while maintaining everything that makes them a fairy. This is caused if a human kisses a fairy in the mouth, which will turn a fairy human-sized for the purpose of mating with the human and reproducing. Fairies lay eggs.

Not how I expected things to be, but hello again.

As I was creating this new account I saw people asking about me, worried, thinking something might've happened, thinking tumblr did me dirty, and first of all, I want to apologize to all these people. I am sorry for scaring you, it wasn't my intention at all.

So let's get to the point. My account was deleted because I got caught in the middle of a breakdown. My autism does this lil fun thing to me that makes me completely unaware of my own emotions until I'm drowning in them, so when little things pile up I don't address them, I don't notice them and therefore, I don't heal or solve them, until they're too big for me and I feel all those negative emotions at once, making me snap. The snap came back in the form of me wanting to completely disappear of the face of the internet. Changing my discord and almost deleting it, deleting my tumblr, deleting my twitter (which I managed to save today btw) and almost deleting my instagram. I only failed there because I couldn't find the option and got so frustrated I rage-quitted.

But, yeah. I'm not proud of it, I'm deeply upset of my decisions during that emotional outbreak. What happened? Not much stuff that would interest you. Personal problems, insecurities of mine, loss of a friendship and finally realizing the toxicity of some behaviors I didn't correct on time. All alone might not seem like much, but it deeply affected me to the point of wanting to go away and never come back. Which is, fucking stupid to say the least.

And I fuuuucking regret it. I fucking regret deleting my tumblrs. All my asks, my art, doodles and shit and mutuals, all gone. At least with Twitter I could save it but Tumblr? Nah man that shit is forever.

Right now I'm better, and I guess what comes next is moving forward and rebuilding what I did. I don't like that it happened but, oh well, it did. I still have so much to work on myself, specially learning how to identify how I feel so I don't have these emotional outbreaks when stress is high enough. I ain't blaming anything or anyone other than myself lol. My IQ drops to zero when I'm going thru it and I just take them most horrible decisions in order to punish myself.

I'm saying a lot, and at the same time, nothing. I don't know. I usually just talk about horny stuff and Hatchetfield and shit here, but I felt like being a little vulnerable with you guys. Again, sorry if I worried you, sorry if I scared you. I deeply regret what I did and, well, I'm payin' my price for it.
