Aster checks Akira thoroughly. He takes one last spit sample of her to check it under the microscope as well.

Mame watches Akira. He chirps sad to her, putting a hand on the glass.

{Akira watches Aster before looking to Mame as he chirps. She peeps quietly back to him.}

Aster still looks at the sample before nodding.

"You seem good to go... still, you will sleep with an oxygen mask for now... just in case."

Mame's tail swishes. He chirps more to Akira. His eyes staring sad at her, tears slowly appear. If she's free to go, he's most of the time alone here again.

{Akira huffs. Annoying, but fine. She'll do it. But then she shakes her hands, staring at the little rings on her wrists. She peeps a little louder as she raises one hand more towards Aster and looks at her Daddy. Can she have these off now? She's dealt with them for a while, now she wants them off.}

Aster looks at her and then to the rings. He just stares at them. "....I don't think it's a good idea to take them off yet...."

{Akira just stares at Aster, shaking her hands a bit more.}

He sighs before shaking his head.

"No. They're staying on.... Okay?"

{Akira huffs, but she lets it be. Fine, she'll just get Furusato and Marlow to help her around. But she doesn't have to like it. Akira looks back to Mame, peeping quietly to him.}

"I'm sorry. But it was so out of control the last time..."

Aster continues to fill a smaller oxygen tank for Akira.

Mame lies flat in his box, just looking with sad and wet cat energy at Akira. He wishes he could be free as well...

{Akira sets her little hand on the glass for Mame, chirping more to him.}

Aster glances to them before watching both hatchlings.

Mame slowly sets his hand on the glass like Akira. His eyes glow slightly. A little blob appears for a moment.

"Please don't leave."

And after saying that, the speaking blob vanishes.

{Akira watches, tilting her head before peeping more.}

Aster stares surprised and confused. He slowly comes closer.

Mame huffs exhausted, his hand slipping. Still, he looks at Akira. And then he peeps really quietly.

{And Akira matches Mame's peeps, her eyes watching him.}

"How did you do that, Mame?"

Aster carefully asks.

Mame just looks up to Aster. And then he starts to cry weakly. His crying turns into a weak wail.

He looks shocked before opening the box and taking Mame in his arms. He gently shushes the hatchling and holds him close.

{Akira peeps confused, watching Mame and Aster.}

Mame cries and hiccups. His tiny fingers dig into Aster's plastron. Then he chirps wet between his sobs.

'Want. Follow. Sister.'

Aster coos, trying to calm Mame down.

"I'm sorry.... You can stay with her for an hour. But you need your bubble to...live..."

{Akira watches Mame more, shaking her hands before glancing at the rings on her wrists. She's not doing that, but she knows exactly what it is.}

Aster slowly picks up Akira, holding both close.

Mame calms slowly down, leaning exhausted on his sister. He chirps at her, trying to grab her.

{Akira peeps quietly, holding Mame and giving him some gentle pats.}

Aster smiles at their interaction and goes towards Moriko's nest. He puts both down in their playing area and leopard chuffing a greeting to Moriko.

Mame calms down completely, churring upon receiving the pats. He looks around, chirping.

{Moriko coos as she sees Aster the two hatchlings, leopard chuffing back. At least she seems to be perking back up. Akira pats Mame more, tail giving a small short wag. At least he's not crying anymore.}

{The book seems to be all about cats- mostly big cats. There's even a section for a snow leopard- just like Yasei-ji. The nest seems to be empty- wait, no, there's something there— oh. Nevermind. It's just a rock. Wait, why is there a rock? Moriko chitters, watching Aster.}

Aster holds the rock confused in his hands. Eventually he holds it to Moriko and chitters back.

Mame looks at the pictures with big eyes. His little legs kicking excitedly.

{Moriko sniffs over the rock before trying to eat it- literally snapping it up and trying to swallow it whole. Because of course she does. Akira looks to Mame, tail starting to wag more as she continues to read the book, taking in all the pictures this book has to offer.}

Aster huffs, watching how Moriko swallows it.

"Careful...."

Mame looks at the pictures. He gives off a small chirp. His eyes glows again, he tries to let a mini version of a tiger appear. It's not good, but he tries his best.

{Moriko licks her beak afterwards, as if she made a mess while trying to swallow a rock. Akira watches Mame and then the small illusion, chirping quietly to him- sounds like praise.}

Aster churrs at her. Seems she swallowed it without choking. Good.

Mame chirps as well. But soon enough the illusion vanishes with a quiet pop. He huffs exhausted, slightly lying down. Apparently this little performance costed too much energy.

Mame looks at the pictures with big eyes. His little legs kicking excitedly.

Aster continues to fill a smaller oxygen tank for Akira.

Mame lies flat in his box, just looking with sad and wet cat energy at Akira. He wishes he could be free as well...

{Akira sets her little hand on the glass for Mame, chirping more to him.}

Aster glances to them before watching both hatchlings.

Mame slowly sets his hand on the glass like Akira. His eyes glow slightly. A little blob appears for a moment.

"Please don't leave."

And after saying that, the speaking blob vanishes.

{Akira watches, tilting her head before peeping more.}

{Akira seems to be doing great. She's much more interactive with things, she's back to her much quieter and observing nature, she's no longer as cuddly anymore- though who is she to deny cuddles from her daddy?-, and she's even starting to eat more again.}

Aster checks Akira thoroughly. He takes one last spit sample of her to check it under the microscope as well.

Mame watches Akira. He chirps sad to her, putting a hand on the glass.

{Akira watches Aster before looking to Mame as he chirps. She peeps quietly back to him.}

Aster still looks at the sample before nodding.

"You seem good to go... still, you will sleep with an oxygen mask for now... just in case."

Mame's tail swishes. He chirps more to Akira. His eyes staring sad at her, tears slowly appear. If she's free to go, he's most of the time alone here again.

{Akira huffs. Annoying, but fine. She'll do it. But then she shakes her hands, staring at the little rings on her wrists. She peeps a little louder as she raises one hand more towards Aster and looks at her Daddy. Can she have these off now? She's dealt with them for a while, now she wants them off.}

Aster looks at her and then to the rings. He just stares at them. "....I don't think it's a good idea to take them off yet...."

{Akira just stares at Aster, shaking her hands a bit more.}

He sighs before shaking his head.

"No. They're staying on.... Okay?"

{Akira huffs, but she lets it be. Fine, she'll just get Furusato and Marlow to help her around. But she doesn't have to like it. Akira looks back to Mame, peeping quietly to him.}
