The Donmar Warehouse in London has announced the world premiere of new play Juniper Blood by Mike Bartlett (Unicorn). Juniper Blood will run at the Donmar Warehouse in London from 16 August to 4 October 2025. The play explores the true cost of pursuing ideals in an imperfect world. The story centres on Lip and Ruth, who have left the city behind for a new life on a farm; trying to live differently, live better. But when Ruth’s stepdaughter and her provocative best friend arrive, this quiet rural project is thrown into chaos, as conflicting visions of the future come crashing into the present. Directed by James Macdonald (Waiting for Godot), Juniper Blood will star Hattie Morahan (Ghosts, Orpheus Descending, A Doll’s House) as Ruth, Jonathan Slinger (Waiting for Godot, A View From the Bridge, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) as Tony, Sam Troughton (Closer, Beginning, Rutherford and Son) as Lip, Terique Jarrett (Fangirls) as Femi, and Nadia Parkes (The House Party) as Milly.
Public art project The Herds is passing through capital on 20,000km journey from Congo Basin to Arctic Circle, inspiring climate action
This West End leg of the journey was co-curated by Amir Nizar Zuabi (artistic director of The Herds) and theatre and opera director Joe Hill-Gibbins, who staged a particularly muddy version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Young Vic in 2017. (That venue’s former artistic director, David Lan, is one of the chief producers on The Herds.) Shakespeare’s “forgeries of jealousy” speech, increasingly used to reflect our own climate disruption, was performed by Zubin Varla as Oberon and Hattie Morahan as Titania. (A gorilla rested its paws on Varla; a monkey nuzzled Morahan.)

The next in a brilliantly original series for Radio 4 from the award-winning Naomi Wood.
Hattie will read episode 3 of Naomi Wood's 'Shakedowns in Hyperspace' on BBC Radio 4 on the 28th May.
We get our first glimpse of Hattie as Lady Sarah Vere sitting in the second row at the 0:18 mark!
Hattie talks about the new novel she narrates, 'Broken Country' by Clare Leslie Hall.
It looks like we can look forward to seeing Hattie reprise her role as Jane in the new Outnumbered Christmas special on Boxing Day! Going by the extended synopsis, I'm guessing she'll be the "uninvited house guest [that] overstays their welcome". [x]
