Stardust Sally:

Status: lost

Sally was always seen as a controversial character in Melanie's world, a show about puppets in a cartoon fantasy world with magic. her existence is still debated about till this day, many viewers of the show stating she never existed while others do.

This is her backstory according to people who remember her:

Sally is a Jester born for a dwarf star. she fell in love the universe around her and wanted to explore despite her mother's wishes and eventually ran away and taking physical form. she explored and played with the stars for years before crash landing on earth, her monochrome colors drawing Melanie Angel to her. Over time Melanie and Sally became inseparable and Melanie gave her her own place in the neighborhood she grew up in. Sally now stays on earth protecting the dreams of people around her and fighting nightmares with her Stardust.

The controversy starts because Sally's dream sequences often scared the younger viewers of the show and speculation of her being an openly queer woman in the 80's. Eventually she was retconned and all episodes containing her were pulled from the air. it seems the writers were trying to make us forget her but for some reason never got rid of her pet grey wolf Wally and he even mentions her by name a few times after she's gone, leading people to believe she was a real character in the show.

Melanie Angel:

Status: partly found

Melanie's world was a show that started in the 70's and lasted all the way into the 80's with a 90's reboot in the works that never went through due the the amount of unexplainable de@ths on set.

Melanie's World was a kid friendly fantasy show that delt with heavy topics in a way children could understand.

Melanie was an outcast in her society where everyone develops a form of magic by the time they are 10. without the ability to do magic she wants to prove herself and become the greatest bard the world has ever known and use her music to change the world for the better.

Melanie was said to be very lively and energetic, getting along with everyone and everything around her.

Half of her promotional art and all of her episodes have been found and restored but unfortunately no one can find her anywhere, leading people to speculate that the puppets were burned after the show ended.

Director Harvey Adams has many unsettling stories about Melanie that he often waves off as him forgetting thing due to alcoholism.

He recounts one night, years before her made the show he was making a puppet for his daughter and was too tired to finish assembling her one night so he decided to finish in the morning. When he came back she was fully complete and was even sitting with her legs crossed in her display case. He almost abandoned the project right there but convinced himself he remembers that night wrong. he says Melanie still gives him the chills till this day.
