evermore, Taylor Swift
evermore by taylor swift (released december 11, 2020)
To try and put it more poetically, it feels like we were standing on the edge of the folklorian woods and had a choice: to turn and go back or to travel further into the forest of this music. We chose to wander deeper in.
Taylor asked us to let Scott know how we felt.... so @tied-together-with-a-kyle and I did!!
THANK YOU FOR HELPING US MAKE THIS POSSIBLE!! #IStandWithTaylor
This billboard is in Nashville!
I think we need to bring back

It only took one day to confirm what I had suspected for years: Paul McCartney is the loveliest person alive. Thank you @rollingstone for making this happen. The Musicians on Musicians Issue is out now 🙏

Epiphany Music Video Idea.
I have this reoccurring dream or vision for a music video of epiphany by Taylor Swift ever since the first few listens and I see it every time I listen. And it just makes this song even more special for me.
So in the beginning with the instrumental and the introduction for the “keep your helmet, keep your life son,” I picture this soldier deeply wounded and his fellow soldier won’t leave him behind as the group moves forward so he’s half carrying him and half dragging him with his equipment still on him and hold on to his gun for dear life along with his friend. And the soldier not injured yells out to his higher up that “sir I think he’s bleeding out” and they’re just trying to get to safety. And they get to this helicopter as the song says “with you I serve with you I fall down” and he lays his friend in the seat next to him with half of his friends body pressed on his lap and he’s just keeping pressure on his friend’s bleeding wound. Watching his friends breath to make sure he’s alive.
And then the line starts “something med school did not cover” it cuts to this girl who is a doctor standing in the middle of the icu holding charts trying to figure out what her next move is as doctors and nurses run around trying to help people in the midst of this chaotic covid. And of course the doctors are wearing trash bags and reusing ppe bc this takes place in prime covid beginning lockdown beginning.
And as it says “someone’s daughter, someone’s mother” they show the hospital beds of the patients.
And then as it says “hold your hand through plastic now, doc I think she’s crashing out” it shows that doctor holding a patients hand thru plastic covering as the patient is about to die alone and then the heart machine starts going crazy and she yells for her attending and starts doing chest compressions but ultimately loses her patient as the lyrics “some things you can’t speak about”
Then you have the instrumentals and the doctor is going to the bunk bed area and just falls asleep on the floor, too tired to even get in bed. And you have a flash to the soldier closing his eyes on the helicopter. And the lyrics “only 20 minutes to sleep but you dream of an epiphany, just one single glimpse of relief to make sense of what you’ve seen” and they’re both dreaming and it’s revealed the soldier and doctor are husband and wife and their dream is them at home with their two children and that’s their “glimpse of relief” and they’re dancing around their house with it decorated for Christmas and the kids are playing with new toys and this is representing their last great family memory of Christmas 2019 right before covid had arrived in America. And the video flashes to the table with all their photos thru out their wedding and his military photos and her medical school grad photos and their kids.
And it does this until the end of the song and at the lyrics “only 20 minutes to sleep, but you dream of some epiphany. Just one simple glimpse of relief to make sense of what you seen” and that’s when her timer goes off and she puts back on her reused ppe and goes back to doing her job and she’s back with all the different patients and it flashes back to the soldier where his eyes open and the helicopter is landing. And the very last clip is a zoom out a photo that’s on that table of the husband and wife and their two kids on that Christmas Day.

honestly can’t think of a better way to start off a pop song than by singing the word “midnight” as dramatically as possible, pausing for a saucy bassline and then singing “you come and pick me up, no headlights”
