What do you think of when someone says, "the greats?" Actors? Historic figures? Musicians? Well, not Rohl - Rohl thinks of narrators and, sometimes, writers, though that's more common. Although Morgan Freeman is great, Rohl's personal favorite is Rod Serling, narrator and screenwriter of the cult television show, the Twilight Zone. Although it was a little ahead of his time, Rohl enjoyed a good episode of the show, yet he still watched all the great television that the 80s and 90s had to offer. However, whenever he watched such shows, all he could do was critique them. He'd sit in front of the television and enjoy it up until they picked the wrong word for something and, from there on out, he would go out on a spiel about everything he could pick out that was even slightly off about the show. Yes, the only good show was the Twilight Zone.
In high school, Rohl was quite the loner - he wasn't bullied for it, no, but he wasn't praised for it, either. All in all, Rohl didn't mind being alone. His father and mother were hard workers who were constantly gone and his brother was, well, a brother who'd gotten over playing with him after he turned ten, so Rohl was used to it. However, in the time he spent alone, he made sure to polish not only his writing, but also his ego. Indeed, his ego was the size of Russia, if not larger. At 17, Rohl was renowned for being the most narcissistic male in his age demographic in Normal, Illinois.
When Rohl reached the ripe age of 23, he moved to Los Angeles on a whim. With a script for a horror-based show in his back pocket and a nice voice to deliver it, he was confident in his abilities - then again, when wasn't he? Contrary to what most people thought would happen, however, it only took Rohl a year to find a company that was willing to help produce his show. Entitled, "Stories from Beyond," his show, too, developed a cult following, seeing as it had a certain campiness to it that made many turned off by it.
Rohl realized, however, that he wasn't interested in living in Los Angeles permanently. After inspecting a good many towns in close proximity to the city, Rohl found one by the name of Hava Hills that he enjoyed and decided to buy a small home there. Although it's a pain to go back and forth from L.A. to Hava Hills, he's willing to do it so long as he gets both the home and the work life he hopes for.
Rohl's ego is just as inflated, if not more, as it was when he was a teenager. However, unlike some people, he feels no need to knock other people down to make it known that he's great. Instead of making people feel like shit whilst attempting to convince them he's better, he'd rather make them feel neutral and make them know that he's great. Rohl's got a way of talking that's not exactly charming, but intriguing, as it makes him sound like he was born in a different decade with the slang terms he uses. He's heard of hashtags, but only in passing; he's heard of the term 'ratchet,' but only because of HavaChat. Speaking of, Rohl's account on HavaChat, deep-surly-voice, derives from what he's been told about his own voice… of course, it's mostly been himself that's told him that. Hey, though, if you're not hurting anyone, what's the harm in having a little (or a lot) of self-confidence?

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall…
One touch of the shoulder and a flash of his toothy grin and the woman was all his. The super-moon made his job easier, his job being to damn these humans for all eternity. “Hi,” he smiled, looking her in the eyes, “I’m Samuel. Whad’ya say we get out of here?” The ‘here’ in this circumstance being a small cafe at 2:31 PM.
Samuel opened the door to his car for her, allowing her to get in first. “Lovely car,” she remarked, feeling his seats as she fastened her seatbelt.
"Old car," he responded with a laugh. Buckling himself in, he floored it and began driving far out of the most populated reaches of the city, eventually arriving by a field of land with no one nearby. The woman looked around curiously.
"Where are we?" She questioned.
By the time she’d asked, Samuel had already gotten out of the car. Making his way to her side of the car, he opened the door. As she slid out cautiously, he abruptly took her neck with his hands and pinned her against his car and began right then and there, undressing her, undressing himself, entering her, etc. He didn’t hit her overtop the head with anything, he didn’t wait to charm her, because he had all the time in the world.
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall…
When he was finished with his prey, he grabbed her by the hair, making sure she wouldn’t run away. Walking to the trunk, he extracted a fiber wire and, with a bit of struggle, got her neck eventually wrapped up inside of it. Holding onto the two wooden grips with all of his might, he watched as she made writhing movements in a futile attempt to slip out of it.
All the King’s horses and all the King’s men…
Finally, her body went limp; it was quick, a minute, maybe two. She fell to the ground in a sad tangle of limbs and weeds. Samuel un-weaved the fiber wire from around her neck, whistling, “Whistle While You Work,” as he did. Opening the trunk again, he stuffed the wire inside.
He then went back over to the woman and untangled her body. She lie there, so beautifully, so peacefully; it made him stop whistling as he looked her over. On this day, he could have any woman; however, he wanted the one who happened to be dead.
Crouching over her, he traced his finger over the impression that the wire had made into her neck. It was a vibrant red, though the vibrance would die down eventually. He then lowered his head down to the area and began kissing her neck. They were ginger kisses, sweet kisses, as if he really loved her.
Couldn’t put Humpty together again…
After his second time with her, he knew the evidence would have to be destroyed. He knew of many “animal attacks” in Maddox, and he’d become too wise to be one of those “animals” any longer… oh, but how beautiful she looked! He wanted to come back time and time again until she’d gotten past the point of rotting.
He walked over to the car and took his camera from the front seat. Taking a picture, he looked it over for a minute, appreciating what cameras could do, before lifting her body into a bag and stuffing it into his trunk.
When he arrived back home, he took a saw from his garage and began hacking away at her head. Cursing himself for having forgotten to put on coveralls, he continued on, trying extra hard when he reached the bit of spinal cord that was in her neck, chuckling at the thought of “animal attacks.”
Finally, her head was off her body. He then proceeded to remove both from his garage and into his basement where he could have all the fun he wanted with them and, when the body was past its prime, he’d still have the head. Looking at the body, he wondered who he’d killed, her title, her family; it was out of curiosity, however, he cared about her family about as much as he cared about the difference between Pitch Black and Eerie Black. “People love a rose because they know it’ll wilt,” he told the corpse.
After changing his shirt, he moved back to the garage, beginning to hose it down. Finally, he’d cleansed it of all the blood and guts that lay inside and walked out into the crisp air. As his neighbor walked by, he lifted a hand, “Excellent weather we’re having today, hm?”

Bio: Myles Ramsey was never destined for greatness. It was a fact that he grew up having to accept. It was always a struggle having to live with a father who tried every “Get Rich Quick” scheme and scam there was and a mother who had to work two crappy jobs to support four sons. And as the youngest of the four boys, all he ever got were threadbare hand-me downs and toys that had been broken long ago, not that he could play with the toys for long. He had to grow up fast and do whatever work he could around the house until he came of age to get an after-school job.
Unfortunately, Myles didn’t want to grow up. He was extremely immature and, being the youngest, he fought tooth and nail for the attention he wanted, although he didn’t always receive it. In fact he was almost always looked over. The other boys in the family grew up well and each of them worked hard in school and eventually got scholarships for local colleges. Myles, however, was more like his father, much to his mother’s chagrin. He didn’t want to put in the hard work for anything, he just wanted instant gratification and if he couldn’t get that he was content to just sail through being average. There were many nights that would end with his mother yelling down the hall at him, always the same thing. “If you keep going this way you’ll amount to nothing.” It was true, but part of him felt fine with that. His whole life he had amounted to nothing so why would he try to be something now? He was perfectly happy to continue being nothing, as long as he didn’t have to stay with his family.
So, as soon as he turned 18 he left, dropping out of school before the end of his senior year. He mostly slept on the couch of whoever was offering, sometimes sneaking into places and staying hidden until they were closed and then sleeping when everyone had left. That very thing was what got him a job at the strip club. He knew one of the employees and they brought him through the back, but the owner caught him. However, instead of throwing the boy out, they saw potential. He was young and attractive and could bring in a crowd that the normal lingerie clad woman couldn’t. So Myles was given a pair of hot pants and a trial. And, boy, did he love it. He got the attention he finally wanted, gladly putting himself on show in exchange for people cheering and putting money into his underwear.
He still mostly sleeps at the strip club, although, he is a fan of breaking the rules and going home with customers if they pay him enough (Although he strictly goes home with the male customers, even though he will happily strip for the ladies). All that attention doesn’t mean that he feels satisfied. He is really quite lonely but he hides it under a mask of arrogance.
Myles discovered Havachat after spending a bored night on the boss’s computer. Online he isn’t some kid who has made bad decisions. He can be whoever he wants and he can form connections that aren’t forged by a fifty dollar note shoved into his pants.

Bio:
When he was younger, Max was proud of his differences. He was of mixed heritage, spoke two languages, and even knew violin. Max loved his first name, preferring to be called Maximiliano even by the kids who couldn’t get out more than two syllables of his name. His family was only nuclear in the strictest of senses, nuclear for the twenty-first century -- his mother worked more than his father, his parents weren’t especially religious, and his sister was several years older than him. But he was happy.
When he was eight, Max swam out to the middle of the lake in his hometown and nearly drowned. He was saved by a boy only a bit older than him, who would go on to become Max’s best friend. Holden and Max made music and memories together, something that Max carried within him when Holden moved to middle school before him. They grew apart by circumstance, but every time they hung out it was as easy as the last time they had joined together. Holden never treated Max like anything other than the boy who had almost stupidly drowned in a lake.
One day, Max came home to yelling. His parents and his sister went back-and-forth. She was pregnant. To avoid the embarrassment and move closer to where his sister was, their family moved to Oregon. Max never really got the chance to adequately explain to Holden the circumstances, but promised to “keep in touch.” Max moved into high school with the pressure of being a new kid, of discovering that he might not like only girls, in having a sister who was nineteen and pregnant, of parents who were fighting more and more. One day he snapped, lashed out at one of the bullies that had been messing with him for ages. He was suspended for the rest of the semester, and when he came back he was once again in a different school. Defeated.
So Max kept his head down at his new school. He didn’t attempt to make any friends, or get involved. And progressed through high school a shadow of the bright boy that had been known in Avalon. He graduated, and got the itch to move back to California. Where he met Holden again. Old feelings arose. The friendship was rocky, not as easy as it had once been, and Max dealt with the fact that he had felt a very real love for Holden. Even when he was dying inside, Holden had been there in the back of his mind. Even when he burned marks into his skin. But, of course, nothing in Max’s life was built to last. He was only in Hava for a short time before he broke down, moving back to Oregon to avoid everything.
But Holden’s life was going to shit too, and his friends in Hava. Max felt obligated in some way to fix the things that he’d help to set into motion. So after a (only-slightly) drunken text conversation with Holden, he resolved to move back. For the last time. No more running, no more lying.
Sample:
Max was aware of the pressure around his waist — a sort of warmness that contrasted with the way the water was chilling him deep into his bones. He caught a flash of blond out of the corner of his eye. He didn’t know who it was, but it was no one in his family. They all had dark hair. The person was male, with rough calluses on his hands that Max had decided to concentrate on. It was better than focusing on his almost-death after all. The hair on the other’s head made him look like an angel, and this as accentuated by the fact that the sunlight beating down on the water made it impossible to see the other’s face. The hands felt small, not adult hands. Not worn so much as to have been building the Earth from the ground up to the sky. These were not Atlas’ hands, destined to carry weight. They were the hands of a child.
These thoughts carried Max to the shore, where he, dazed, slipped in and out of something like consciousness. There, up above him, was the sky. It was very blue, or was that the boy’s eyes? There was a storm on the horizon, or in the boy’s soul. Max wasn’t thinking about any of this, and if he were he wouldn’t remember it. He was concentrated on the simple act of not dying. He hacked up water he wasn’t aware he had been taking in. Of course, drowning involved water and… Well, that was actually all Max knew about drowning. The water took you. That’s what the adults said, right? His mind was scattered like the wind in a hurricane. His chest felt like someone had tied a weight around his lungs and was pulling them to the ground. It was pressure, and it was drowning. Even though he was safe on land, he was still drowning. For a brief second, Max considered that he might never stop drowning.
He heard noise around him. Max didn’t think that there was screaming, but there was a persistent rush of notes and cadence in the air around him. He couldn’t understand any of it. There was the low breath of a whisper and the high, careening sound of concern. The blond boy must have gotten help, Max guessed. There was pressure on his chest, forcing the water out of his lungs. He pushed more water out and onto the ground beside him. The water sat there, harmless. Max was on his side, and the water lay beside him. The water lay beneath him. The water lay in front of him. Water, water everywhere. He wasn’t thinking straight when he felt arms — definitely not the blond boy’s — pick him up and talk to him. There wasn’t any rhyme or reason to the words, it was just empty talk. It mixed low tones and melody and Max felt as if he might lose consciousness from the utter care in the voice. It might have been his mother’s, before his mother had gotten distant. It would not be his father’s. Perhaps, Max thought, it was God’s voice.

While Danica knows what happened to her mother, she’s really never let it affect her like it has her sister Jordyn. After all, she herself was only three when the woman walked out of her life into one of drugs and eventually, disappearance. Basically raised by Jordyn, the teen has never gone out of her way to give her older sister trouble, unlike her brother. Sadness over the lack of normality never came to mind for the middle James child and her true passion is… Different, to say the least. Crime shows, autopsy shows, and everything of the type nurtured her love for all things morbid. Her dream is to be a mortician, which most people wouldn’t expect from her perky attitude and especially from her havachat screen name, ‘belieber97’. The thought of being the one to prepare and be so up close to the dead bodies makes her giddier than it should and in her spare time, she is the assistant of Sharon Reed at Reed Mortuary. While Jordyn isn’t exactly fond of her part-time job and Kayle thinks it’s weird, she could care less and often immerses herself in her work, causing her to be late to school, dinner, and everything else. Being on time is never in her cards unless it has to do with work and the only reason her grades stay moderate is due to Sharon and Jordyn’s constant mother-henning.
Thinking of the future and past honestly terrifies Danica beyond belief. Most days, she tries to focus on the present, clinging to the life she shares with her siblings. Kayle and Jordan mean more to her than anything and she’s fiercely protective, especially of Kayle. Her temper at school is quick when she notices him, or anyone else for that matter, being picked on and she simply doesn’t stand for rudeness. The simple matter is Jordyn raised her better than that.
Havachat is the place Danica lets loose, as common as it is to say. Online she can be whoever she wants, and in her younger years before she found the chat, she found comfort in catfishing on other websites. It isn’t something she’s particularly proud of, but it’s part of the complex inner workings that make her the girl she is. She’s odd, but she’s not exactly bad. Honestly? She prefers the term unique.

The word timid comes to mind when Kayle James’ name is brought up in conversation, and for good reason. On most days, the fifteen year old can be find in the library finding solace in the old, dusty pages of classic books. Hemingway, London, Dickens, the list of his favorite authors go on and on. His life is simple, quiet, and thankfully he has a small group of friends so he doesn’t quite have lonely on that list just yet. He hasn’t let his family history such as his mother’s drug use and disappearance, or his father’s leaving to go live with his girlfriend bother him too much. He’s got the two people who matter most to him- his sisters. Out of the three siblings he’s easily the calmest. While the two girls whiz about around town doing their jobs and being pretty social, he mostly stays home on his laptop or just doing schoolwork.
When he logs onto Havachat, Kayle turns into a different person. He’s hyperactive, interactive, and definitely more like the kids who ignore him at school. Why? It’s simple. He loves his solitude, and he does admire popularity. But he isn’t dumb enough to risk the highs and lows that high school brings with it. His mind is far more developed than most kids his age and he has more plans for the future than both of his older sisters put together. Get into college, do some acting on the side, and eventually become a heart surgeon. Kayle’s bucketlist is 50 pages long and he’s determined to do everything on it before he dies. He isn’t anything like most people and he’s aware of that. He’s pleasantly different and a free spirit at heart, which is something he knows his sister wouldn’t like because in the end? That was his mother’s downfall. He knows from the stories he’s like the woman but he considers himself too smart to fall down her path. But.. Is he really? He may be smart, but at the end of the day he’s still a fifteen year old boy.

Reed Mortuary has been around almost since Hava Hills first began, which is why most are shocked that it is still owned by someone from the original family. Coming from a lineage of mostly boys, Sharon’s parents were shocked to find that what the doctors had assured them was another male to the line, was certainly not upon her birth. Despite this, she followed in her father’s footsteps and became the next Reed mortician, which most assumed she was forced into.
But, that wasn’t the case. Sharon genuinely enjoyed it, even in school she was more inclined to the anatomy and biology classes as opposed to the English classes her friends adored. She wasn’t a cheerleader, nor a band geek. Extra-curriculars were never her scene and on most days, she was found down at the mortuary with her father. Learning, helping, and everything in between. For two years after her father died, she immersed herself in her work, never making time for friends, men, or anything that didn’t involve a corpse or meetings with families. That is, until she met Ellis Luciano. The man came into her life one night after not seeing him for since graduation in a grocery store, and hasn’t left since. Of course, she remembered him from high school. He had been the star quarterback and nothing less than perfect, while of course she had been the quiet freaky girl. It was a reversed beauty and the geek story, but the two meshed perfectly and within a year, the unlikely couple was married with a baby on the way. Now, ten years later, they’re still happily married with their son Gianni and their daugher Janet, both kids taking the Reed surname to carry on the family tradition since Ellis had plenty of siblings to carry on the Luciano name. The mortician is living the life she never thought possible, and just when she thought things couldn’t get better, a young doe-eyed girl was caught by a local cop sneaking around the back of the mortuary.
Danica James definitely reminds Sharon a lot of herself as a teenager, minus the facade of perkiness. Taking on the girl as her assistant was something she didn’t think twice about, shocking her husband. But it has fared well and she can tell the teen will go far and she has even gotten to the point of calling her a friend.
Of course it was Danica who showed Sharon havachat. Thought she isn’t very technologically inclined, she enjoys chatting under her alias to see the gossip she’d rather not hear in the supermarket. It’s a nice release and she’s very open with her husband about what she says and hears on it. After all, she’s got nothing to hide.td>

Known for being the quarterback, president of the student council, and all around good american boy throughout his years in highschool, no one, including Ellis, would have guessed that he would have ended up with the nerdy Shannon Reed. After becoming a cop his first several years after graduation, he thought his life was perfect. He had an amazing job, women left and right, and all the glory he could want. But.. Something had always been missing. Something he couldn’t put his finger on. The nagging feeling had persisted until the fateful day when he bumped into Ms. Sharon Reed in the grocery store and from there, their love blossomed. He fell in love with her quirky habits, the small smile she got when she read something interesting, and even the odd fragrance of embalming fluid and daffodils she always wore. She was simply.. His soulmate.
It wasn’t too long after the two met that they were married and before they knew it, they had their son on the way. This in itself posed as a problem of sorts. They both worked full-time jobs, and didn’t want their child to grow up with a nanny. So, knowing his wife loved her job more than anything, Ellis made one of the hardest decisions of his life. He quit the force, deciding to be a stay-at-home dad. He loves it, obviously, and he’s spent the past ten years nurturing their son Gianni and now, their baby girl Janet. He didn’t mind Sharon keeping her last name and passing it onto their children, honestly. He knew the importance of the Reed name to her and since he has six brothers who have children of their own, he isn’t exactly concerned about carrying on the Luciano name.
When he logs onto Havachat, often times right with his wife, Ellis can calmly chat about his everyday troubles and be as lovey-dovey with Shannon as he wants. The young people’s antics amuse him and every now and then, he’ll privately chat to a few people about the fact he does miss being a cop. Those chats? He keeps from Shannon. His life is pretty perfect, but that missing feeling still hits him from time to time. But for the sake of his marriage, family, and general life, he doesn’t mind ignoring it.

Since he was young, Mikey never felt he fit in with the crowd his parents wanted him in. The nice, pleasant church-going people that were in their inner circle. He got along with no-one in his early years. That is, until his baby sister Kim came along. From the moment he laid eyes on the pudgy baby, he knew he’d always protect her from feeling how he did. At least, he tried to. As they got older, they both started spending time with the edgier groups, opting to get tattoos and piercings, and sometimes dye their hair outrageous colors. It made them happy and comfortable, which was something that hadn’t been a norm for either sibling their entire lives. But, especially when it came to Mikey, people in their old community weren’t very accepting. Jobs were hard to come by and their parents were never pleased with anything. Trying his best, Mikey got into law school and graduated top of his class, but unfortunately the mentality of the firms around Hava weren’t yet willing to accept someone like him.
So, making the hardest decision of his life, he decided to leave Hava Hills for New York, which also meant leaving his baby sister in her most vulnerable years. It took him four months after leaving home to start at a small firm dealing with civil matters, and within two years he had began to move his way up to more hard-hitting cases. He often freelances when it comes to cases of discrimination, knowing how it feels to be judged because of differences.
Now at age twenty-seven, the once insecure teen has realized how much he’s missed out when it comes to life. Having thrown himself in his work the past several years, he’s missed out on things such as love, kids, and family. Upon hearing about his sister’s engagement, that was all it took for him to realize that maybe, just maybe, Hava Hills may be ready to accept him. Moving back seems natural at this point and who knows, the life he’s been wanting might be in the place he ran from.
