YES!!! this is such a rare moment of weakness for him to show, his faint little "...you didn't?" hurts my HEART!!

This is what I'm talking about!!!! I think this whole sequence is magnificent. He's really worried, and he's going around in circles thinking about the thousand possibilities of what would happen if Vanellope wins the race, but it's not a "oh damn Vanellope😠 " it's more like "MY WHOLE LIFE DEPENDS ON THIS😰" So he laughs out of panic, like when someone laughs at their own misfortune to lighten things; he could have been more annoyed or even scared, but he preferred to downplay it. This is the face of someone who knows he are going to die

Duke Dandy is the overseer of a cozy little village and the magical woods that surround it. He has a great amount of influence and say in what people do but is well beloved by his subjects.

When a long forgotten Castle is rediscovered within HIS territory, the Duke feels very posessive over it and begins planning to take it over under the now King's nose.

Professor Abel Tanner is compiling an encyclopedia on magical creatures in the area. His knack of finding and understanding rare beasts (and the magic they hold) has made him quite a valuable asset to the Duke.

Abel is the only one who knows of the plan to usurp and he'll do anything he can to see it come to fruition.

Umbra and Jubileigh are a closely bonded pair, both initially out of reach to Dandy's frustration.

Umbra was avoidant and sometimes aggressive to humans but over time she came around to Abel and once she did, Jubileigh needed very little convincing. Jubi likes to be cared for and treated as a 'pet' while Abel has a deep understanding for Umbra and is very aware no one will ever 'own' her.
