havenhawthorne: Another year around the sun, another birthday to celebrate with my twin. I love you, Jasper and I hope you've enjoyed all the spoiling I've put into our day. Now let's go do karaoke. You can't say no to me, it's my birthday. 😉
🎂 CHARACTER BIRTHDAY TEMPLATE 🎂
NAME: Haven Hawthorne
AGE: 37
YEAR: 2026
🕯️ THEN (Last Year / Previous Birthday)
Where they are currently: Haven was fully settled into the life she spent decades believing she would never have. After a childhood shaped by loss, an adulthood defined by survival, and years spent rebuilding herself from the inside out, she was living in Kismet Harbor surrounded by the things she once thought were impossible: a loving partner, children who adored her, a successful business, and a home that felt safe.
Emotional state: Peaceful, but still learning how to exist inside it. Haven had spent so much of her life waiting for happiness to disappear that even stability sometimes felt unfamiliar. She was no longer drowning in grief, but she still carried the quiet fear that everything good could be taken away without warning.
Key situation(s): Haven had built The Home Genies into something that represented more than a career—it was proof that she had created something beautiful after losing so much. Her relationship with Julian had become the first love of her life that did not require her to fight for reassurance. Her children were growing, her home was full, and she was beginning to experience the kind of family life she had always wanted but never expected to have.
One defining detail: She was finally living the childhood she wished she could have given herself.
🎉 NOW (This Birthday)
Where they are currently: Haven is a mother, a partner, a business owner, and the heart of a home that is constantly loud, messy, and alive. She is no longer defined by what she lost. She is defined by what she built. Kismet Harbor is no longer just where she started over—it is where she belongs.
What’s changed externally: Her life has become fuller in every possible way. Her children are growing into their own people, The Home Genies continues to reflect her creativity and passion, and her home with Julian has become the kind of place she always wanted: somewhere people feel loved, welcomed, and safe. The chaos of family life has replaced the loneliness she once knew.
What’s changed internally (if they notice it or not): Haven has stopped treating happiness like something temporary. She no longer measures love by how much pain she can survive or how much she can sacrifice. She allows herself to be cared for, to lean on others, and to believe that the people she loves are not always moments away from leaving.
Current emotional tone: Warm, grateful, and deeply rooted. She still carries the ghosts of the people she lost, but they are memories now—not anchors. Haven is someone who knows exactly how fragile life can be, which is why she treasures every ordinary moment.
🧠 WHAT CHANGED WITHOUT THEM NOTICING
She stopped waiting for the next tragedy.
She realized peace does not mean forgetting the people she lost—it means allowing herself to live for them.
She became the kind of mother she needed when she was young.
She learned that being loved gently does not make love less meaningful.
She built a family that was not based on obligation, but on choice.
She started seeing herself as someone worthy of a happy ending instead of someone who simply survived long enough to reach one.
🧩 SYMBOL OBJECT OF THE YEAR
Object: A framed photograph of her family that sits somewhere slightly crooked because someone in the house bumped it and nobody fixed it.
Meaning: A reminder that the life Haven built is not perfect—and it was never supposed to be. It is lived in, touched, messy, and real. The crooked frame is proof that this is not a picture-perfect fantasy. It is a home.
🎈 ONE THING THEY WOULDN’T SAY OUT LOUD
“I spent so many years thinking I was surviving until the day things finally got better… I didn’t realize I was already building the life I was waiting for.”
🎊 OPTIONAL NOTES (for extra flavor)
Who showed up: Julian, their children, Jasper, Noah, and the people in Kismet Harbor who have watched Haven grow from someone trying to survive into someone who creates safe spaces for others.
What the day looked like: A morning that starts too early because of the kids. Coffee that goes cold. A house full of noise. Someone stealing bites of her birthday food before she can eat it. A quiet moment with Julian where she realizes how different her life feels from the one she once expected.
Unexpected moment: One of her children says something that reminds her of herself at that age, and instead of feeling sadness for the girl she lost, Haven feels proud of the woman she became.
Something that almost happened: Haven almost turned her birthday into another excuse to take care of everyone else. She almost planned everything, cleaned everything, and made sure everyone else was happy before allowing herself to be celebrated. Instead, she lets herself be loved.
Jasper's gaze shifted to meet that of his twin sister as she brought up their upcoming birthday. The corners of his lips pulled into a faint smile at the thought of them doing something together. "I wouldn't hate it." Jasper couldn't imagine he would be the most comfortable on stage, doing karaoke. Yet, if it was what Haven wanted to do, who was Jasper to say no. "I don't know if you remember quite how terrible my singing voice is, though." Jasper added with a lighthearted chuckle. @havenhawthorne
The slight smile on Jasper's lips made Haven smile even wider, her gaze fixated on her twin brother. "I think I'm out of town on our actual birthday. Race schedule." she admitted, knowing that Jasper would understand if she weren't here on the day of. "But I do still plan to celebrate with you; it just may be either late or early." she shrugged, looking at her brother again. "As for your voice, I'm not worried but I'm also not one that cares." She laughed. She remembered the times that they were younger and they'd sing whatever song from whatever movie they'd watched together, even if those memories were short lived. "I just think it'd be fun to go out, enjoy some karaoke, maybe a meal." she shrugged. "Go all out. We haven't done that in awhile." @jasperxsinclair
Kyson smiled and nodded his head. He wished he could say the same honestly. Things with his siblings were complicated, they were all over the place and most of them either talk at all or want to hang out with each other. Plus, you could not get Kyson started with his parents. He was always happy when people spoke of their families though. He smiled listening to her, nodding his head. "It's a good thing you don't have to go through that. Makes me almost jealous of you and Julian," he chuckled with a grin on his face. Maybe in another world he would have gone through the wedding and maybe been a dad by now. "Ya, I totally get it and understand. I can relate for sure. The last few years have been one thing after another. I am glad you have been good and life feels good. You really deserve it" @havenhawthorne.
Haven laughed a little as the other said that he was almost jealous of her and Julian. "We're fortunate in most cases." she stated. "Don't get me wrong like with every other family we're not perfect, we have our own issues, but we make it work." she shrugged. It was part of a marriage, a commitment to each other. To always work through whatever they could. "I'm just happy that I have him to share life with. I know it's cheesy, but, life feels so much easy with him around." she paused. "I know what you mean with one thing happening after another, though." she laughed. "That always seems to be how it works." Haven nodded. "One thing happens and then everything happens." she laughed. "I guess it's how you handle it that makes a difference." @kysonxgoodwin
havenhawthorne: I can't believe my favorite niece is already three! I blinked and you went from a tiny baby to a full grown child and I'm not so sure my heart was ready for it. I love you so much, Nessie girl.
"All of it miss," she said as a matter of fact, her lips curling into an all knowing grin. Of course she was only joking, not needing to know every single detail, whether juicy or not. But between girl friends it was something they could at least hint upon. She had her own intimate life with her own hunk of a husband but it was always nice to hear that her friends were well taken care of. "I'm totally jealous, of the ocean thing," she made sure to make her point known. In reality she loved her life as it was, every single aspect of it. But having a home near the ocean would just be icing ok the cake. "I'd have to ask Ethan, but my vote is a yes. Though I do love the home he and I have built over the years, with the four kids and everything. But gah, hearing the waves from the bedroom!?" @havenhawthorne
Haven smirked as the other stated she wanted to hear all of it; something that Haven was thankful for was an intimate relationship with her husband. Even though there had been moments where it had looked differently, there was no part of the blonde that couldn't say she wasn't satisfied in her marriage. "I'll let you use your imagination." she stated, tossing her friend a wink. "Things are good though." she admitted. "And I hope they are for you as well." she added, her brow raising as she looked at her friend. She wasn't nosey, but on the opposite side of that coin she wanted to make sure her friend was also satisfied. She deserved it. "The ocean's pretty great, and I totally vote you get that man of yours on board." Haven laughed. "I never thought I'd be a water front girl myself; you know how much I loved that house in Cresthill, but -" she paused. "The sound of the waves from the bedroom makes things in the bedroom that much better." she added. "Promise you it's even better" @makaylahoffmann

"In the off chance I planned something for our thirty seventh birthday." Haven paused, eyes rose as she looked at her brother. "Something like a dinner, maybe a night on the town." she paused. "Would you hate that?" she questioned, thankful to be in a position in their lives again where they could celebrate their birthdays together. "I was thinking maybe if you were up to it we could do karaoke or something. I don't think I've done that since college and it sounds like it would be fun to do it with my twin." she shrugged. "Only if you want."
havenhawthorne: I still can't believe I'm lucky enough to call this my life. A year later and we're celebrating in Italy; our boys a year older, probably a few more gray hairs on my own head but even more love for you than I had when we said "I Do." I love you babe. Here's to forever.
havenhawthorne: We blinked again and we're celebrating another birthday in this giant family of ours. Today's your day, Uncle Johnny. The Hawthorne family all adore you and hope that your own family spoils you today. Happy Birthday.
havenhawthorne: I'm so happy to have you in my life, Giovanna. You've been nothing but a blessing to the Sinclair family and I hope that my brother spoils you like you deserve. When I get back from Italy, we have a spa day lined up. You can't say no, it's your gift. Love you!
"So tell me," as she sipped her coffee, "how's it living in a big old house with a famous racecar driver?" She missed living so close to her friend, their homes being within shouting distance from one another. Having Haven close by at always out her at ease especially if she nor Ethan were able to stay with the kids and her parents nor in-laws could either. "Waking up to the sound of the ocean with a sexy ass husband beside me sounds like a dream," she chuckled, "I mean I already have the sexy husband part but the ocean part? Mhmmm."
"Which parts do you want to know?" Haven questioned, winking as her lips pulled into a smirk. Not that she'd ever share the moments of intimacy she shared with her husband, but she couldn't help but tease the other. "Honestly, it feels like I've always been there." she admitted. "I miss being next door to you but -" she paused, listening as the other stated waking up with the sound of the ocean every day sounded like a dream. "That's probably my favorite part. Waking up to the sound of the ocean. The boys laughter echoing off the walls." she sighed. "It's the dream life. And I can get you a house on the beach if you guys ever want one. All you have to do is ask." she nodded. "I built my house. Not with my own hands, but, most of that was my own vision." @makaylahoffmann
How could he forget? He took her projects as serious as he did his own, though with how scattered he had been these past months he understood, and was aware that he hadn't considered bringing up things more than once which he normally would've checked in on. So once again, he just listened, his fingertips trailing her skin, his lips curled in a little smile as her enthusiasm slowly took over again. It was a delight to look at, to see her succeed and thrive the way he knew she wanted, the way he knew she would. "I'm proud of you." He spoke, his hand halting at her hip, his hand grabbing the curve of it. "Baby, if you wanted to build us another house, you could've just said so." The words came out with a chuckle, his lips pressed against her forehead. "I know it'll be great, when will you start on it?" @havenhawthorne
Something about sharing this moment with her husband, his hand trailing her body as she talked about the work she'd been pouring her heart into for the last few months made her feel as if she were on cloud nine. She'd missed this. This level of intimacy; sure, she'd never deny alone time in between the sheets, but this. These moments were the ones that Haven craved when he wasn't around. Or when life was too busy to share more than a casual conversation over dinner. And as he announced he was proud of her, she let her smile widen, nodding. "Thank you." she smiled. "I know I don't tell you a lot but I really appreciate hearing that." she stated, leaning to press a kiss to his cheek before she settled back to where she was, nestled as close to his body as she could get. His hand pressed against the curve of her hip made her smirk and she shifted, rolling so that she was now on top of him again. "Keep that up and we're going to have to build a bigger one for all the rooms we keep filling." she teased, lips pressed against his. @julianxhawthorne
When Jasper asked how the wedding planning was going Haven exhaled, shaking her head. "Thank you for asking, Jasper. I'm the worst." she chuckled. She knew Noah wouldn't mind she hadn't asked yet, but, she always wanted to see what was going on in both of her brother's lives, but especially with the announcement that Noah and Giovanna had gotten engaged. "I'm also dreading the day they outgrow those cots, but, it's unfortunately going to happen sooner rather than later." she paused. "I could talk about them all day though, let's talk about you. Should I get with Giovanna and help?" she paused. "I don't want to overstep because it is the two of you guys' wedding but if you think she'd want another female insight or something I'm down." she shrugged. She knew Giovanna had a sister of her own, however, Haven wasn't sure their relationship at this present time. It was only when Noah asked about Giovanna getting their mom's wedding band that she felt her heart ache a little. As a little girl she'd always dreamed of the day she'd get married, wear her mom's ring, the sentimental value often fogging her memory in the younger years. Yet, she'd never once thought about it when she'd married Julian. Sure, they'd married quicker rather than not but also Julian had picked out a ring specifically for Haven; and now that it was on her finger, the stone color the same shade of blue of her own eyes and the boys' they shared together she'd never picture it any other way. She looked up from her lap towards Jasper and then at Noah, nodding as her smile grew. "I personally can't think of another person that deserves that ring." she shook her head. "I would love for Giovanna to be the one to wear it, but if Jasper is opposed-" she paused. "Sorry to put that pressure on you, Uncle Jazzy." @jasperxsinclair
Jasper sat quietly as both Noah and Haven spoke, taking in their words. He was happy that the two of them had built lives in Kismet Harbor. It was something that he was still hoping to do. One of these days. He wasn't sure what that looked like for him. He doubted it involved kids outside of being an uncle. He wasn't even sure that he'd get married one of these days. Part of him wasn't sure what else was left for him at that point, then, but he knew he'd find it. At some point. As Noah brought up their mother's engagement ring and wedding bands. There wasn't a single doubt in his mind, the decision coming to him as Haven answered. "Oh, uh," he cleared his throat, looking to Noah this time. "Yeah, do it. I think that's a great idea, Noah." @noahsinclaxr
He hadn't expected his siblings to tell him no, but it wasn't going to be something he had simply just expected and gone ahead with it without asking. He was still thankful, the smile that spread on his lips a clear indication of that as he folded his hands together, nodding in response to their approval. With Tessa and Constance, he'd never given it a second thought. His proposal to Giovanna might have been spontaneous, even if the thought of wanting to be her husband had been in his mind a long time already, the desire of her carrying his mother's ring had been a strong one. One he could make a realisation. It would need some altering in size, some cleaning, but it would be perfect. "You know.." He started, his gaze lowering to the glasses of ice tea on the table. "I'm happy we're all together again." His confession sounded, looking up again to his brother and then his sister. "I know I never say but.. You two have so much of mom and dad in you, I know they'd be proud of you two, just like I am." @havenhawthorne
Kyson had a few evening, he did not want to spend it reading, playing the piano and so when Haven had invited him out, the male said yes. Kyson was also a social person, he believed in balance and he loved hanging out with friends, talking with them and having dinner. He strongly believed that human interaction was important and people it also feeds the soul just like books and music. "Me too, I am also happy I was able to come out here too and I totally know what you mean. It's nice to talk another human other than siblings, fair I don't have toddlers or deal with them," he winked before laughing.
"Things are going good, finally trying the whole dating thing again," he laughed as he sat back. "Seriously did not remember it being so hard and what about Haven?" @havenhawthorne
"I love my family, and I do spend the majority of my free time with them, but, the time I can spend with others I try not to take for granted." she admitted, smile growing. Friendships and the connections she'd built since moving to Kismet Harbor had been her lifeline for so long, she felt she needed to take the time to pour into them. The newer friends as well. "Dating as an adult is hard." she nodded, an empathetic smile as she looked over at him. "I will say it's harder when you have kids." she admitted. "So be happy you don't have that to add to the list of reasons to look for someone decent. There aren't as many people in the world willing to date a single parent." she stated. "I got lucky with Julian, but don't get me started. I'll brag about him all day." she laughed. "I've been good. Life feels good right now and I'm kind of scared if I blink I'll wake up and realize I'm dreaming. Which feels dramatic, but, you know. When life throws you curveballs all the time sometimes it feels like that." @kysonxgoodwin
Jasper set his nephew into the highchair, following suit as Haven as gestured. The young boy gave him a smile as he stepped back and his heart flipped happily. As Haven spoke, he looked to his twin and let out a huff of laughter. "Yeah, you really sold me on that." He joked with her, shaking his head. "I don't mind cooking." Though, Jasper wasn't sure what the right answer was for his sister. He hoped that she wouldn't give him a choice if she had a preference. However, Jasper imagined that she did both cooking and feeding her sons a lot, so he didn't know which one would give her more reprieve. "I'm happy to help however you need." @havenhawthorne
Haven smiled when the other stated that he didn't care what she had him doing, that he just wanted to help she nodded. "I think I'll let you cook then." she stated, pulling up a chair to sit in front of her sons, knowing she'd thank herself later for taking a seat. "I trust you to make dinner however you want; as long as it's cooked and edible, I'm not picky." she laughed, returning her attention to the twins for a moment, then looking back at her own twin. "If you'd rather me talk you through it I can do that too." @jasperxsinclair
Haven chuckled - a little louder than planned - and she nodded at her husband's words. "I can guarantee you there's no part of you I could ever find unattractive or unflattering." she admitted. The truth. She was convinced she'd be head over heels in love with this man for the rest of her life; and in the afterlife too if she had her way. Watching the way he interacted with their son made her heart sore, a sight she could definitely get used to; it was truly the life she'd always wanted. Yet somehow a million times better all in the same breath. It was only when he protested that he missed her when he blinked that she let herself laugh again. "How did you ever survive before you had me in your life to miss just by blinking?" she joked, though if she'd thought about it long enough the question was kind of morbid. She'd only opened her mouth to tell him not to mention it when he placed a kiss against her cheek which trailed down to her neck. Eyes closed as she exhaled, slight hum escaping her lips she only looked up at him a moment later. "More than I can even put into words." @julianxhawthorne
"I was a walking and talking husk until I met you, my love." And perhaps the truth wasn't far off. After Alice, he'd sworn off love, the heartbreak having been an unfamiliar sensation. Between her, Verity and Mrs Robinson, he'd never truly had a healthy relationship. Not until he'd met Haven. And that had taken him a lot of realisations that he had to cope with, learning not to panic when she broke down his walls. He was more than glad that she had, even if that had meant having feared the worst that day she had left him, the two not talking for days. It still served as a reminder for him to do better, to know that he didn't want to, but especially couldn't live without her. He was only as strong as they were. "You're lucky the kids are here or I would've had you pinned down." He hummed, his lips grazing her neck when with a sigh he sat up straight again, picking up a toy so he could hold it in front of Jesse, engaging in a play with him. "I love our world." He said after a while, turning his head to look at her again. "Can't wait for it to grow." @havenhawthorne

"I'm really happy you were able to come out here." Haven smiled. "It's been awhile since we've been able to meet up and I'm just happy to have some company that's not my brothers or toddlers." she admitted. Haven loved her family, and she loved everything about the family dynamic she had, however, she tried to do her best to make time for the friends she'd made here as well. "How are things going for you?" she questioned, a fresh pitcher of lemonade on the table in between them, two glasses with them too. "I want all the details. Don't leave anything out."
