I don't like how content creators treat their audiences.

They aren't mean, no, in fact they might be too nice sometimes. Like, way too forgiving with too many things. As an example (because he's like the largest one that does this) Dream. He needs to put his fans on a lockdown, especially with the personal lives of himself and his friends. The fans have way too much lee-way with what they do, they ship real people, body shamed Sapnap, made BBH cry, treat Tommy and Tubbo like 5 year olds, and send death threats to anyone that they don't care for. Something is needed to be said, especially when looking back. I remember Quackity being excited and telling his stream he didn't get any hate mail/death threats during a dreamsmp stream. Not many ccs from the server said aloud that it was roleplay, especially Dream himself, and that allowed people to get mad over nothing. Just imagine the amount of shit that Schlatt got....

What is said has been needed in every ccs community for a very long time. A basis of the creator being a TV show, and not something to take as seriously. Creators need, need, NEED to set boundries, and can't, no, shouldn't continue a parasocial relationship with their audience. They need to stop telling their audience "i love you", because the reality of it all is that they don't know you. Them saying they love their audience just feeds into a false fasaad of "wow they really care about me" im sorry. They don't, and can't care.

We should only be a number to them.

The chats of mcyt content creators are an absolute nightmare to be a part of - it's actually why I don't watch streams live. It's so sad seeing what this is doing to ccs, when I've seen chats where ccs set some boundaries or when the people are geniuely nice (I've watched the last MCC from Nixcrew's perspective and people in their chat were perfectly respectful, though there were only about 700-800 of us at its peak).

I think the fact how fast most of ccs gained popularity - literally millions of new subscribers and hundreds of thousands new viewers on streams in just under a year - might be partially at fault here. They didn't have time to properly figure it out yet. They're trying to be nice, but are hurting themselves in the process.

I'll continue watching from afar and hopefully the situation will change soon.

Y E S. I see how some can't control it all at once when they gain so much in such a small amount of time. Though it isn't impossible (ex: everyone/most people from smplive, Ludwig, Mizkif and others) they still need to say something about it, like at least agknowledge that shipping two minors is fucking disgusting. (*cough cough* DREAM SMP *cough cough*)

It's frowned upon by the ccs (or it may be just a Connor thing LMAO), but I literally have become one of the Youtube Frogs because of this.

Now I want to write it. Take this barely put together piece of writing I just decided to make:

Phil had never been the “morally driven” man. He was more of an “emotionally driven” man.

Which is why he had kidnapped Tubbo when he had seen that the toddler abandoned in a small box.

Tubbo had been so young; he wouldn’t have remembered it, but Phil did.

He remembered the way tiny Tubbo had looked at him. He remembered how he looked around and how Tubbo had been crawling around the box. How he had picked up Tubbo and just ran.

It wasn’t like the parents were going to miss him...right? He was abandoned.

That was what he thought until Phil had seen Schlatt come out seconds later with an ice cream, only to not see his son.

Tubbo started to cry when he saw Schlatt. Phil knew Schlatt had seen him, so he ran...with the baby.

When he came back, he told his family that he found Tubbo abandoned in a box. Wasn’t necessarily a lie...but not necessarily a truth.

When Tubbo had grown up, Phil knew that trouble came when he saw Schlatt.

“You’re the motherfucker that took my kid all those years ago!” Schlatt had yelled. He pinned Phil up to the wall, “Where the fuck is my son? I missed his whole childhood because of you.”

Phil didn’t say anything. He didn’t know what to say. How could he explain what had happened?

“Hey Dad, I wanted to ask you a-WOAH WOAH WOAH, Schlatt, what are you doing to Phil?” Tubbo was here.

“Phil, huh?” Schlatt sneered, clearly recognizing Tubbo, “Now I see why I recognized Tubbo.”

“Schlatt, this isn’t like you. You’re the president, you need to set good examples. What are you doing to my dad? I’m sure whatever he did, we can work this out.”

Schlatt narrowed his eyes at Phil, “You think this is funny, huh? YOU THINK THIS IS FUCKING FUNNY?”

“Woah, chill dude.” Phil chuckled nervously, “We can work this out if you calm down.”

Schlatt looked at Tubbo, chuckling, “I bet you don’t even remember me. I bet your ‘dad’ told you that you were abandoned. I bet you grew up to be just like Phil, didn’t you?”

Tubbo backed away from Schlatt, “Dad...what is he saying?”

“Get away from him. He’s clearly under the influence of something.” Phil warned, knowing it wasn’t true.

“I think you’re spouting a lot of bullshit.” Schlatt glared, “You stole my fucking kid and now he’s grown up to be all high and mighty. You thought I would abandon him, but I was just getting a treat for him. He was crying when you took him. And now...he hates me.”

Tubbo seemed to hide behind Phil, “I...I don’t understand.”

“He’s spewing nonsense.”

“I can’t believe this.” Schlatt chuckled, “Everyone thinks I’m insane. All because I swore I would take revenge on the man who stole my child. Now I’m face to face with that man and I am going to get my revenge.”

“Tubbo, stay back.” Phil warned as he took out his diamond sword. Schlatt did the same.

“You think you’re so high and mighty. Well, fuck you and your morals. Everyone always talked about you in the highest manner. But you’re nothing but a dirty lowlife. The reason I turned to drinking.”

Phil stayed quiet as he blocked Schlatt’s attacks.

“It’s fine, it’s fine.” Schlatt laughed, “Stay quiet for all you like. It doesn’t change the facts. Manberg will take over Pogtopia, I will defeat you, and I will get my son back.”

“Can’t you see? He hates you.” Phil whispered.

“Because of you.” Schlatt’s words cut through Phil.

It was his fault. Phil admitted that, but what was done was done.

“Guys, please!” Tubbo yelled in distress, “Schlatt, you’re not yourself. When you stop drinking, we can sit down and you can talk to Dad peacefully. Please don’t hurt my dad.”

Schlatt laughed as he stopped his attack, “Maybe you should ask Phil if he’s really your dad.”

Phil’s blood ran cold as Schlatt walked away.

Tubbo, seeing Phil’s face, decided not to ask.

It wasn’t until days after Schlatt’s heart attack that Tubbo questioned it.

“Dad, can I ask you a question?”

“What is it?”

“Why did Schlatt get mad at you that day? What did he mean?”

Phil gave a small smile, “I guess it’s time you knew. It was long overdue.”

When Phil had finished explaining it to Tubbo, he noticed Tubbo looked sick.

“Tubbo, you don’t look so good-“ Phil put a hand on Tubbo’s shoulder.

Tubbo slapped his hand away, “That’s why, huh?”

“That’s why what?”

“That’s why I’ve been growing horns.” Tubbo replied, taking off his hat. “It’s been there since I became president and it keeps growing. It’s because Schlatt’s my dad.”

“Tubbo, why didn’t you tell me?”

Tubbo had tears in his eyes, “I could’ve spent my whole life not wondering why my parents hated me so much that they abandoned me in a box. In reality, it was you. Because you took me away from my dad. Schlatt could’ve been a good person!”

“Tubbo, wait!”

“No, Da-Phil, I think I’ve heard enough from you.”
