superimposing the destiel ending onto straight characters is a very fun thing to do i do recommend it. doomsday but rose just doesn’t really come up after that and the bbc aggressively insists the doctor was going to say “i wish you the best my very good pal.” han says “i love you” to leia instead before he gets frozen in carbonite. she doesn’t say anything back and they just don’t bother to rescue him and he’s not really an important character after that. mulder confesses his love to scully, then gets immediately abducted by aliens, followed by two episodes where scully solves the plot problems, eats ice cream, and then dies for unrelated reasons. that’s the ending.
Supernatural as The Onion headlines (part 2) (part 1) (part 3)
Castiel: Your mother is happy, in Heaven. She's with John.
Mary, in Heaven: *Curbstomping John* You're a piece of shit!
Cas, watching: *eating popcorn* The chair! Use the chair!
Finished Commission of Cas comforting poor, tired & scared Dean after being possessed by Micheal
You know, I know I tend to talk more about the way both Dean and Castiel’s arcs have been ruined by whatever happened in 15x19-20, but Sam’s entire character arc has literally been butchered too.
Sam was destined to become a leader, to carry on the Men of Letters legacy into the sun. It’s literally what his entire storyline all through the 15 seasons of Supernatural called for, but even more the last couple of seasons. Instead, he ends up grieving his brother for 40+ years and seemingly forgets all about his previous life. He leaves the bunker never to return, we never see him interact with the so-called found family that the show made a point of setting up through the entire show. He gets a blurry wife, a kid he names after his brother (the co-dependency never really ends then, does it) and he spends the rest of his life never going back to his legacy. He seemingly never picks up the pieces again. Sam the leader is gone and buried.
15 years only to end up with very little progress from what he wanted in season 1. He’s lost everyone he cared about and got a blurry wife and a kid that serves as a Dean proxy instead.
Yeah, I’m mad about Dean and Cas. I’m mad about Eileen. I’m mad at the Found Family they spent years crafting and forgot along the way, thinking we wouldn’t notice. I’m mad at a shitload of things. But I’m also mad about what they did to Sam.
All of them deserved fucking better.
cas is planning a murder in this scene
#cas started a sentence and realized he had to finish it in a way that wouldn’t imply him in john’s eternal damnation
Castiel is trying real hard to find something nice to say and he realy had to dig deep for it.
He’s still so beautiful isn’t he? Even after all this time.

the forest is on fire but we’re gonna let it burn
Dean doesn’t have to drive far before he finds Cas. He’d had a hunch Cas might be waiting for him no matter the direction he went, but still he can’t help the sigh of relief he lets out when he sees the slump of Cas’ shoulders among the trees.
He doesn’t have to walk far, either, once he’s pulled the Impala into the grass beside the road and let the metal door shut behind him with a creak. He’s in the forest after a few paces—it’s a pretty forest, all green and overgrown, the tan of Cas’ coat standing out purely for its dullness. Cas’ back is to him and he’s looking down at something, hands in his pockets, but the rigidity with which he holds himself gives away his awareness of Dean’s presence. Cas won’t turn toward him but will angle his head so Dean can see the sharp line of his cheekbone, like he’s any sort of thing that would need ears to gauge how close Dean is.
Dean has half a mind to hesitate, to stop and take a deep breath and collect his thoughts or something, but he’s so fucking tired of not being near Cas and of schooling how much he gives away to Cas in every conversation that he walks up so their shoulders are inches apart and he doesn’t think twice about it. He looks down to take in what Cas is looking at and finds a small pond with a few muddy-gray fish scooting their bellies across the silt. Dean thinks Cas might be gearing up for a speech about the fish and creation and humanity, something nice and cinematic to bookend their journey, but instead Cas says, “Hello, Dean.”
That works, too. At least Dean knows how to respond to that one. “Heya, Cas.”
They’re silent for a second.

✨Cas?✨
Edit: Now with an accompanying Dean!
move, he’s gay
So like is there any particular reason why we’re not talking about this deleted scene from Executioner’s Song or
like have we discussed the antiblackness of the fact that the all of the angels who habitually choose black vessels are antagonists. what was spn trying to say with that.
if cas still contains the pop culture knowledge metatron gifted him (presumably the majority of all media ever written) I think it only makes sense that cas and dean are regulars at the local bar trivia night. they get accused of cheating after their first few games on account of the fact that cas can recall with perfect clarity every I dream of jeannie script but no one can say anything when dean ultimately gives them the win by reciting each one of susan sarandon’s oscar nominations AND the actresses she lost to. sam and eileen join when they’re in town and make them pretty much unbeatable thanks to sam’s assorted knowledge ranging from ornithology to computer science and eileen’s skill at solving the word play questions and finding common bonds. the whole place jeers when a sports category is announced because they know the weirdos at table 6 don’t have a shot in hell at getting it and just might finish second tonight. everyone thinks it’s a bit whenever a history question comes up and dean goes “come on dude you were THERE!” to which cas responds “well dean it’s a bit difficult to remember the second punic war after having your head cut open a few thousand times”
i’m a bitch, i’m a boss, i’m a bitch and a boss
It is my personal opinion (tho I believe others’ share it) that Sam’s powers shouldn’t be solely based in demon blood.
The show uses Demon Blood as an addiction metaphor (which is a can of worms I can dive into at another time) but it doesn’t fully work because Sam has abilities long before he starts hitting up demons. And sure, I guess you can argue Yellow Eyes was a part of that, but I think that’s lame.
What I think is more interesting is if Sam actually was a bit psychic. That all the special kids were to an extent: the demon blood was just a supernatural steroid. Without the demon blood, they aren’t nearly as powerful but they got a little juice. For Sam I think that’s mostly visions.
The reason I like this idea is it makes Sam’s abilities not absolutely evil: it’s the blood to make them work better that is. This makes the metaphor about addiction work a bit better, but it also removes the less than stellar theme of Supernatural powers (aka being different) being something to destroy.
Plus, with this in place we give Sam something to work with after the apocalypse. After season five, Sam’s character arcs aren’t very good if they exist at all. Keeping his visions gives him the following to work with:
-Fear of his own powers and learning to use them
-Souless Sam not having visions and that’s what tips Dean off that something it wrong
-Chronic illness management: migraines
- Sam and Kevin having something in common
-His visions maybe getting less reliable in season 7 because his cage memories keep bleeding in.
-Sam having dreams of Demon Dean and brushing them off as terrible nightmares.
-an arc of him being frustrated that his visions don’t help him prevent some crucial moments.
I just think there would be a lot to work with and it would give Sam a story arc in the later seasons other than being “Dean’s problem”
