the end
late last night I belated realized that the fantasy queue for today was empty and had to queue up a few posts to buy some time. about half an hour ago I realized I’d forgotten to finish restocking it, and now the sci-fi queue was also empty. this is not the first time in the past few weeks that something like this has happened.
so, regretfully, I think it’s time to say goodbye. I’ve finished off the round of queuing I was in the middle of, which means that the last poll on the fantasy blog will post at 18:00 UTC tomorrow, followed by the last poll on the sci-fi blog at 02:00 UTC on Thursday (10:00pm Eastern time).
it has been a wild ride, especially considering that I started this whole enterprise entirely on a whim! I’m grateful to all of you who’ve submitted, who’ve weighed in when I’ve asked for clarification, who’ve voted, who’ve liked and reblogged polls, and especially those of you who’ve messaged to say you’ve found new books to read as a result of these polls. <3
as I mentioned a few days ago, there will be successor blogs — the person who’s going to run them is busy at the moment but hopefully they’ll be ready to go early in October. I will post more information about them when things are ready to go! if you have submissions pending here, those will be carried over to the new blogs. :-)
in the intervening time, while there will not be new polls, I intend to catch up on finished polls so that I can release a final round of stats for each blog. stay tuned for poll results (which will be queued as I go through them so that I’m not flooding everyone’s dashboards) and for the stats updates.
thanks again!
