His brows furrowed, the indicative stop of Hawke’s sentence meaning something ( and a worrisome something ), but his face collapsed back to a smile just as quickly. Hawke would talk about that something when he wanted — or take it out by sparring. He wouldn’t worry about it now, when Hawke was rather determined to smile instead.
“I can say the same about you and your flips! I think that is a tad harder than some foot tricks.” He was about to say more when Hawke produced the water bottle, and he about melted on the spot. The thirst was screaming in the back of his throat, and the water he brought was on the other side of the field. With a hum of gratitude, he sat on the bleachers and started twisting off the cap. “The soccer team is filled with the best-looking students, so I’m not surprised,” he chirped, leaning his head back as he started to drink.
Which was the WRONG IDEA because he about choked at Hawke’s suggestion. He wasn’t oblivious contrary to popular belief, and he was aware of the exact tone Hawke used. But he had to be the smoothest of the smooth, the chillest of the bunch. So he managed to swallow the water instead of spraying it everywhere, and hopefully, hopefully kept his expression composed despite the hot flush he suspected was gracing his face. “Um, a girl? A guy? Sorry, that’s — it’s always about soccer.” THE CHILLIEST OF THE BUNCH, KYUWON, YOU CAN DO THIS. “I mean, did you see me last week? Almost made a goal from midfield!” Cue the chuckles as he played with the cap of the water bottle….and how it kept going….and hopefully didn’t sound forced….and okay, stop laughing, take another sip of the water, SMOOTHEST OF THE SMOOTH.
“Looks may be something to be wanted, but to me, it’s basically a non-issue,” he joked, punching Kyuwon’s shoulder lightly. Best looking was always subjective to everyone, chiseled body, nice smile, which he never did understand. In Hawke’s case something a bit more romantic came to mind: a warm voice and time spent together watching shitty romance films, curled up on the pods. A specific baritone came to mind, something that made him feel warmer, though he hoped that it wouldn’t SHOW like Kyuwon’s impossibly bad acting. I mean he could not lie for the life of him, but the other guy sounded a bit more transparent than he did.
Leaning in and getting into the soccer player’s personal space, Hawke’s shit-eating grin widened a thousandfold, as he was so prepared to milk this for all its worth. Imagine, Kyuwon fussing over a possible romantic interest! What else could be better?
“Aigoo, you’re just so flustered, with all of this! It’s so A D O R A B L E!” Romance always did have a habit of making him a tad ( read: much ) louder than usual, and romantic escapades in real life always did excite him---even more so if his friends were involved in something taken out of a novel. “I can tell when you’re lying, you know! Heartbeats and all!” Okay, that was a lie, he couldn’t yet, but he had to get his kicks somewhere. “So tell me about them! They must be wonderful if you’re into them!”
