The pressure of finding labels to describe myself felt so restrictive. There are no labels to describe my multidimensional nature. So many womban live within me, begging to express. So they shall. Unapologetically. Wholeheartedly. It is time.

In a world where black women are expected to be everything but themselves, I am still learning what femininity means to me. Many see femininity as delicate, soft, and understanding. As a woman who’s spent majority of their life in survival mode, being delicate and soft was out of the picture. Instead, it allowed me to explore my own definitions of femininity. So far, femininity is a dark, alluring force. It is the knowingness of the old witch of the wood. It is the seductive persona of Mary Magdalene. It is ethereal and beyond feeble human description. My femininity allows me to explore the darkest and deepest depths of my mind, body, and soul.
